Twiggy’s sunglasses on her head!

The lovely Twiggy is a guest with Alan Titchmarsh this morning. I have been distracted from the interesting conversation by the fact that she has a pair of sunglasses perched on her head. She is a style icon so I do hope that she was wearing them on her way there, pushed them up and simply forgot about them. I’ve seen worse when people have sunglasses on their heads while wearing another pair of glasses. Tell me it’s not stylish

I’ve just had a preview of Portrait Artist of the Year appear on my tablet and lo and behold the first sitter has a pair of sunglasses perched on his head! 😎😂

Oh, thanks for reminding me about the Portrait artist of the year.
I'd forgotten it was on & I absolutely adore this programme.
My mother was a wonderful artist & she created beautiful works without having any thumbs. Strangely I can draw but can't paint for toffee! 😶

Have never seen Twiggy be anything other than totally stylish. Have been a fan since I was 14 and have yet to see her put a foot wrong in every aspect of her life.

Hear, hear notgran!
Twiggy is & always has been cool. So Stylish & elegant but with her own unique -vibe. I have always embraced the sunglasses -on the head thing. Particularly if my hairs a ruddy mess: as of now following a terrible haircut! I look like Wee Willy Cranky! 🤔

I haven't seen people wearing glasses on foreheads.

At least I've never noticed this.

Sadly I’ve never been able to keep mine on my head without them falling off or getting tangled in my hair. What I find odd is people wearing them at night. Witnessed again recently on a long train journey. They didn’t seem to be hiding anything as they took them off to clean a couple of times.

Why in a studio? I do pop them up on my head at times when out and about, in shops usually and they’re good for keeping your hair back if it’s breezy.

My glasses are always on my head unless I need to read anything, if I put them down I’ll never find them.

I’ve been known to go looking for my reading glasses only to realise I’m actually wearing them ( I did it the other day…).

Yes do that a lot😆

Joanna Lumley always seems to get it right. 😂

Yes, she usually does. Can’t agree with you about this photo though!

I only have cheap’ish sunglasses anyway. They’re one of the things that people seem to lose a lot, along with walking sticks.

What really does look silly is men who wear their glasses/sunglasses on their foreheads. There may be a practical reason, of course, but to me it looks silly.

That's very worthy of you annifrance. Some of the rest of us are very shallow and this is a lighthearted thread.

It is a silly, virtue signalling remark, kittylester

As if some of us are incapable of holding more than one thought in our heads.

First world problem. Wouldn't have even registered with me.

It’s very stylish……..

Oh dear, I've got mine on my head as we speak, while looking through my reading glasses. Nothing to do with being stylish.

My reading glasses mostly live on my head!

leeds22 Mon 29-Sept-25 14:26:32

I often have either reading glasses or sunglasses on my head and the other on my face and sometimes I have my reading glasses tucked down my t shirt and driving glasses on my face. As DGS once pointed - grandma is wearing 3 pairs of glasses.

I wear my sunglasses on my head when out and about . If I go inside somewhere push them up on my head . I do the same with my reading glasses , even though I’ve been told it can stretch them .

Mojack26 Mon 29-Sept-25 13:59:34

Nothing new there! 🤣 I don't think she's stupid....

JenniferEccles Sun 28-Sept-25 19:20:01

I have never done this, as I would worry that they might slide off especially if I am looking down at something.
Presumably they stay put though as it seems to be a common practice.

Mine are prescription glasses which darken in the sun and then revert back when I go indoors.
If I’m not wearing them they go back in their case in my bag.

Visgir1 Sun 28-Sept-25 18:57:11

I worked with someone who kept her sunglasses on her head all day in work.
I was told off by my Optician, he told me, my glasses have stretch and not to wear them as a head band. Have I listened.. No.

Witzend Sun 28-Sept-25 18:53:13

TBH I’m quite often seen wearing sunglasses, plus reading glasses on my head - or the other way around. V
