Morning from a dull S Hants, I hope we get the forecast sun, bedding to wash and dry.
How lovely meeting up with your phone call Leicester friend Bellas have fun.
Bon Voyage Ashcombe I’ll wave later in the M27 direction!
How debilitating your back is being Redcar and dragging on, it must get you down, 🤞 it improves soon.
Yesterday we did have some sun, so I nipped out for a walk, so many berries this year, the birds are happy. Tedious housework done I bought some more swede, all small, I suppose lack of rain this year.
No real plans today, my daughter may call in.
A 👋 to the poorlies.

Good morning, I have no idea what the weather is like, DH is still asleep and I can’t open the curtains or get up in case I wake him up.

Absolutely no plans for today other than roast chicken tonight.

Lovely photo gmattie and Bella

Safe journeys and a peaceful Sunday 🙋‍♀️

Good morning all. So pleased we’re back up and running. Really missed yesterday. I’ve only just found yesterday’s good afternoon post so I’ve read that first. I’ll not comment in case I miss anyone 😀.
Have a good Sunday everyone. Safe travels to those on the move and thoughts with those with mountains to climb.

Good morning from a very misty Black Country.

MrJ is supposed to be on a cycle ride, will now depend if the fog clears. The end of the ride culminates in a 'sausage sizzle' at a local Scouts ground. Everyone takes their sausage or burger to cook on a large BBQ there.

Pottering about here, some housework and make an apple cake.

Great to see a photo of gM and Bellsasnanna yesterday. How lovely that GN brings people together.

Wishing you all the best day possible

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is cold and misty but we are promised a good day. Mick we were stationed in South Limburg in the seventies - it would be nice to think our paths had crossed at some point! Happy days!
DS and DiL came down yesterday and we had lunch and a nice walk in the sun. I came home with my hat full of windfall apples. I wish I knew the varieties - I think one of them is Mackintosh.
Today, I have DD and SiL coming for a late lunch, but apart from the prep for that, I have a leisurely day to look forward to.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Morning all from an extremely foggy West Oxfordshire. We should have been going to a Car Boot Sale this morning intending to sell honey. OH wasn’t happy with the weather forecast and has been proved right. So a quiet day at home.

Yesterday was exhausting but fun. I met younger son in London and we had lunch in Hackney and went to the V&A Storehouse museum in Stratford. What an amazing place! Apparently I walked 8000 steps! It was good to see my son but sadly he is no nearer reconciling with his brother.

Have a good and peaceful Sunday everyone.

Good morning everyone from DD1s house in Cambridge, it’s just getting light and looks like a dry day ahead
Gorgeous photos gMattie and Bellas, how lovely to meet up and spend time together
I arrived here Friday afternoon after a good uneventful journey, yesterday was out and about with the DGC and today more of the same. Since I was last here they’ve moved house but only a few doors away to a house with a garden. Its a gorgeous house and I’m still finding my way around, a 3 story house and I’m on the top floor so it’s a long way down to the kitchen in the morning to make myself a cup of tea… 😀
Safe travels Ash
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Redcar Sun 12-Oct-25 07:21:11

Good morning everyone from mid Essex, where it’s getting light. It seems to be cloudy again and cool at 7 degrees.
I did very little yesterday, trying to rest my back, which seems to be more painful today! The mattress cover is in the wash, but will have to tumble it dry as it’s too heavy for me to hang out.
I have some admin to do today, then a catchup with my friend in Kent. Family are all busy today but hope to speak to them later.
Have a good journey back to France ashcombe. Enjoy your holiday in Malta grandmattie, good to see the photos.
Thinking of those who are struggling.
Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from s somerset, cold now and sunny later

A lovely drive to and from Wiltshire yesterday, busy roads but it was dry and the sun stayed behind clouds and did not blind me

Other dd managed to load a very feral wild pony onto their trailer, it has taken a lot of training by only putting feed inside the trailer. Dd, her husband and daughter, all were needed for door and ramp shutting. Dd did get hurt by pony in the process. A very aggressive 12hh 6 year old mare, still would not allow a head collar, nor a human touch, nor farrier and was always trying to kick 30 year old pony, dogs and humans. Rescue people were terrible, would not help at all. Dd asked for help from them several times. Anyway best forgotten now, a shame but never again. How is this for an answer from the rescue `good luck`

I won`t be using ch until my boiler seals are replaced, ch causes higher pressure and the leak would increase. I have managed to steady it but will be very glad when it is repaired. I don`t want to chase it up as I am on the list and they will come as soon as they can. I could have had someone in Wales come under guarantee but want to stay local, with the people I have used for 15 years

The sun warms my home and entices me out. Allotment today and I want to chop my phacelia bed to feed worms and fungi under cardboard. I want to also pick some veg to bring home. I would love to go on a cycle ride but I never cycle after mid morning, which is my time for exercise

Gansey is growing, I ripped out 30 rows and have re-done them and am now on the first sleeve, the top pattern, having to carefully keep track of pattern plus decreases. I did not get a kit, this has more pictures than ravelry

The colour is damson, it is beautiful as is frangipani wool

Have a good day

Good morning from Wiltshire where we are staying for a few days. Today after a rather substantial breakfast we plan to visit Dyrrham Park. The autumn colours are wonderful at the moment and it is forecast another sunny day.

What a lovely picture of Bellasnana and Grandmatte sounds like you had a good time together.

Thinking of those particularly on this thread where life is very challenging 💐

Wishing everyone the best day possible

Bellasnana Sun 12-Oct-25 07:00:33

Good morning from Malta where another sunny day is forecast with a high of 26°C.

It was so lovely to meet up with grandMattie yesterday and I am now the proud owner of a beautiful GM original bag. 😍

I took a sleeping pill last night and slept like a log but am now feeling somewhat zombie-like so I’m not sure if I shall get up and get on with life, or fall asleep again.

My Leicester friend arrives tomorrow for two weeks so I need to give her room a last going over.

Have a good day all. ☀️

The “restrained” interior of the cathedral & the 2 of us.?

grandMattie Sun 12-Oct-25 06:35:02

Good morning from Malta.
I had a rubbish night, as I panicked thinking I had thrown away my return ticket. Just found it. Phew!
Yesterday was full on; a walking tour of Valletta, a visit to the fine art museum, then to St. John’s Co-cathedral before meeting bellasnana for a 2-hour lunch.
Following that, yet another museum, this time the Grand Master (of the Oder of st. John Hospitallers) before finally making our way back to the hotel.
Today, visit to various meso- and neolithic sites in the south before doing a boat tour of the harbour/s.
I shall post photos in a minute - the6 are on my phone.
Bellasnana and I got on like a house on fire, chatted non-stop for two hours then, sadly, had to part.
Blessed Sunday to all, especially fgts and md.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Ps. bellasnana gave me a flamingo themed prezzie… 😂

Ashcombe Sun 12-Oct-25 06:29:17

Good morning from a dry and calm Torbay which is what I’ve said every day this week!

Thank you for your good wishes, Susan56. I hope your DD and SIL recover well. We shall leave around lunchtime and stay overnight in Portsmouth to be ready for the early ferry tomorrow.

Lovely to see the photo of grandMattie and Bellasnana yesterday.

A blessed Sunday to all. 🦩🥰✝️💐🦩

Susan56 Sun 12-Oct-25 06:10:39

Good morning Mick and all to follow.A foggy start here today.

A busy day with the grandchildren yesterday. It was DD’s birthday.SIL is recovering from surgery and DD from covid but they still seemed to have an enjoyable day.

DD will collect the children this morning.I would love a cup of tea but really don’t want to move in case I wake them up!After they have gone it will be laundry and cleaning then relaxing and reading. Not very exciting but will suit me.

Safe travels Ash and olddudders and as always thoughts with all our mountaineers.

Wishing everyone the best day possible🌻🦩
