A sunny Good Morning from Malta. Have just got on the coach for today’s outing. I know we are going to the Blue Grotto but can’t remember the other places.
Sending warm wishes to all who are anxious.,poorly or have others to worry about..
A good day wished for all.
That's incredible Marydoll, about the generous organ donor.
Good morning from W Kent where the weather is the same as every other day this week. The hairdresser said she felt really miserable. I think I must be one of their oldest clients so I hear all about her children and school problems.
Today a little shopping and a visit to the chiropodist after lunch. He only works privately on Saturdays
Best wishes to dragonflys DH
Good morning from a still dark, damp and mild Glasgow.
I have been struggling with one thing or another recently. Coming to terms with the death of my darling DH. I wouldn’t have had it any other way but caring for him for so long has had an adverse effect on my own health, .latest diagnosis is slipped disc, the list just goes on and going it alone is tough and not for the faint hearted. Dealing with day to day demands has been more overwhelming than I ever imagined.
Moan over, I will get there I know, it will,I suppose, just take time.
My very best wishes to all for a good day especially to those I know have their own struggles to deal with, may your day be lighter.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve a beautiful pink tinged sky to start the day.
Hoping all goes well for your DH today dragonfly
A bit of shopping this morning, a coffee out with DH sometime and then I’m going out this evening with my pal to a line dancing social evening. It should be good fun and I’m looking forward to it
So kind and thoughtful of your DGD Ash
Enjoy your meet up Baubles and Baggs
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I believe it will be a nice day.
I went to the inaugural meeting of our u3a subgroup where everyone chips in with an idea for an outing. I offered 2. pottery and foraging. The first is a gin tasting.
I cooked for a couple of friends last night which was lovely. I lit the fire and candles.
Today the DGC and I will join the foragers on our local estate.
I hope and pray 🙏 Dragonfly's DH op goes well today and that FGT's DH is safely home.
Sending my best wishes to you all.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the sun is just rising somewhere in among all the cloud. It is forecast to put in an appearance at some stage today. Maybe.
I did the sponsored walk with the school yesterday and am still recovering. It was not so much the distance or the terrain I found difficult but the blistering pace set by my group; young children and young parents, young teachers and one old lady who thought she might not see her next birthday as she toiled up a very long steep track in the woods - the sort you look at and think “Oh God! Please tell me we’re not going up there!” But - she got there! There was cake and hot chocolate back at the school. Would I do it again? Not a chance😂!
Today I have a food shop to do and then I’ll give my car a wash.
Have the best day you can, folks.
That last line should have been about the donor match!
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 8°C.
A quiet day for me, I overdid it yesterday, a supermarket shop, some cooking and baking. Today, I am paying the price.
Last night the Ebay Queen phoned me to tell me that DH's golfing partner is now in isolation, preparing for his transplant on Wednesday.
Somewhere in Australia, a young man is preparing to donate and on Monday, a courier will travel to Glasgow with the blood in hand luggage. I find it very hard to comprehend the enormity of it. How altruistic of him to put himself on the register.
This morning, I have the website and bulletin to do. We are having a St. Andrew's Day, Ladies' afternoon tea for restoration funds and I need to enlarge the posters on the photocopier to advertise it.
I don't know why I am bothering, the tickets are not on sale yet and most have been already allocated.
It is wonderful to see our parish social scene come back to life.
I haven't been at church for three weeks, I am hoping to feel well enough to go.
Disappointingly, I won't see Dollie. She had a day out with her parents planned for yesterday, but was too unwell to go. 😪
I always look forward to seeing her on a Saturday evening.
Wishing you all a pleasant day and praying for a successful outcome for Mr Dragonfly.
What a miracle to find a 100% match.
Good morning from yet another grey day in North Leicestershire. We have rain forecast from tomorrow.
Early breakfast this morning - if you can call hot dogs and fried onions breakfast - as DH, DS1, DD2 and DGD2 are off to the football (no doubt to watch them lose again) I will have pleasure of staying home with DGD3&4.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning from a still dark Essex
Went for my flu and Covid vaccines yesterday only to be told that despite a message from my GP to have them both, the government has changed the rules and I don’t qualify for Covid. Oh well fingers crossed 🤞
Off to local butcher for supplies then back here for some batch cooking.
Hope all goes well for your husband dragonfly
(((hugs))) to all in need 🙋♀️
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and dry. Still dark. Dragonfly all the best for your DH today. I hope it goes well for him. Ashcombe what a thoughtful girl! Bellasnana how annoying for you. I have reminders on a calendar, the fridge door and my phone. Baubles enjoy your catch up.
Yesterday ended up being a non event. I went back to bed mid morning and basically stayed there. I obviously needed it as I slept ok last night.
Today I will need to do a food shop. I'm meeting my usual Saturday friend and her daughter for breakfast and I want to get the housework done. Have a good day all.
Good morning, it’s another still, greyish start to the day here in South Lanarkshire.
Yesterday was a day of household chores, necessary but not hugely enjoyable.
A busy day ahead as I’m meeting Baggs and another non Gransnet gran, this meet up had to be postponed till today thanks to storm Amy. Our plan is to visit a NT property which will be my first time there. I’m sure the day will involve stops for tea and scones.
This evening I’m having to go out to a friend’s as their family have decided at the last minute to have a little gathering to mark the anniversary of a significant event in their lives.
I wouldn’t normally book two outings for the same day - a sure sign that age is catching up with me! 😂
Wishing everyone as good a day as possible.
Good morning from a dark but dry Nogent le Bernard.
Yesterday was sunny but with a cold wind so DH needed an extra layer to finish the mowing whilst I worked on some autobiographical writing.
My DGD, who is nearly 13, melted hearts by kindly assembling some thoughtful items for her DB who is revising hard for mock GCSE'S. Independently of her parents, she went shopping between dance classes last weekend to find suitable edible treats and stationery items.. Her mother (DD2) is similarly thoughtful and generous.
I hope all goes well for your DH, dragonfly46 and thinking of others going through tough times. 💐
karmalady: My mother used cloves for toothache; she had a phobia about visiting the dentist so I guess she was glad to have false teeth when I was still a child!!
Happy weekend! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩
Good Morning from a dark, dry Durham.
I’ve woken with a start,?thinking I’ve missed something, but all I have on today is a visit from DD2 and DGS2 this afternoon.
Hope dragonfly’s DH’s op goes to plan. Thinking of the FGTs on that path walked by so many here.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning from Malta where a cloudy day is forecast with a high of 26°C and thunderstorms later in the day.
Yesterday I thought my hair appointment was at noon so was really furious with myself when my hairdresser messaged to say it was at 11.15 and I had missed it. My brain is not working properly these days.
Took my friend to visit the Chinese garden of serenity which was lovely! I haven’t been there before and it really was worth the drive.
Today I think we are meeting DD3 and the boys at another garden, weather permitting, after which I have a hair appointment at 1pm. Must not forget it!😨
Thinking of you both today dragonfly and hoping everything goes well for your DH.🙏🏻
Wishing a good day to all.☀️
Multicolourswapshop if you feel pain, chew a clove as near to the tooth area as you can
Dragonfly I wish you both the best for today
Good morning from s somerset, dry today and hoping for a pop of sun this morning
House temperature is definitely cooling, fortunately taking much longer than I thought. Still at an ok temperature although I boosted my living room temperature just now, it is a large room and needed to go up 1.5 degrees. I used my old dyson heater for the first time in years and it took just 5 minutes. The heater has an accurate thermostat and went off after the room reached temperature. I am impressed
Yesterday I found lots of young vine weavil grubs in a trough of trailing begonias, I have dealt with them and also removed the contents of the other 5 troughs, no visible vine weavil grubs in those. They were self watering pots with damp soil so I have also removed all the trough innards to the tip and will drill some holes through the bases next spring, so there will be no standing water. These pesky weavils love damp
I need to get some greens from my allotment this morning and will see what the weather is like for cycling there. I am going to make a parkin this weekend, when does depend on the sun, if the sun shines in then I will save that task for one of the dull wet days we are expecting, to warm the kitchen
Other than that, just the usual daily tasks and lots more cosy knitting. I am going to have to steam press the patterned area on the first sleeve, to get an accurate sleeve measurement. Not yet though as I ripped out a whole sleeve and started again. Three stitches all down the underarm, in the pattern but they distorted the overall sleeve shape. I am not impressed with pattern instructions, no decent measurements and no line drawings and confusing instructions
I have a gansey kit, was a sale bargain, this one is for me in a medium blue. I would leave it for another time but want to get on, now I can understand the pattern instructions. My next knit and I think I will do the swatch for that very soon. It is a different make of yarn, 5 ply romney. I like romney wool, it has a long lustrous staple and is hard wearing. Decent wool is expensive these days so I am taking care with the swatch
Have a good day
Good morning from the bonny east coast of Fife where it’s still pitch black. I managed a trip yesterday to my local club then on to Sainsburys where I did a little food shop. I had a terrible toothache a couple of nights ago, however my lovely pharmasist gave me something for the pain and it’s settled down. Luckily I’ve a dental appointment soon and she’ll fix the tooth.
Have a good weekend my friends -you know who you are I love everyone of you 💕
Good morning from Bristol.
All the very best for your husband today, dragonfly.
Yesterday, I made quince jelly with the juice I had extracted the previous night. It took much more of my morning than I expected as it wouldn’t set. It’s dark red rather than blush pink which is a pity - it’s the oxidation from so much boiling.
I got on well with the baby quilt, washed towels, then got ready for my hair “salon”.
For dinner, I made a delicious gratin with the romances o from the harvest vegetables I didn’t use for piccalilli.
This morning, I’m doing my church cleaning shift, then reviving coffee after which I’ll go into town for quilt backing fabric.
Have a good weekend. Hugs to our mountaineers, especially fgt and Co,*md*, dragonfly’s DH and anyone I’ve missed.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good morning from a dark East Midlands.
We are up early this morning as we have to be at the hospital for 7.30 for DH’s op. I am hoping it all goes ahead as planned and is a success.
Wishing everyone the best day possible and my thoughts are with those who are struggling.
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry outside here in Brackley this morning.
Today usual bus to Bicester ,chat to those I know, shop and maybe have a breakfast in a cafe.
Yesterdays cycle race from Holland was cancelled because of security reasons ,which disappointed me.
I also had my digital phone stuff , I have changed the date of one it happens as I have an engineer coming to fix it up for me .
Health OK,
Take Care,
Mick
