It's being reported that the Metropolitan Police has launched a probe into Prince Andrew. Apparently an email has emerged from him asking his protection officer (Met employed, tax payer funded) to investigate Virginia Guiffre in order, allegedly, to dish some dirt on her.

He's certainly the Prince who just keeps on giving.

Royal protection- reputations were being damaged? No right of reply? Should not have been leaked.

Casdon Sun 26-Oct-25 11:51:12

I know Anniebach. The context though was him asking his protection officer (Met employed, tax payer funded) to investigate Virginia Giuffre in order, allegedly, to dish some dirt on her. That is misuse of police time, which is publicly funded. Other information about Andrew misusing public funds has come to light.

I think the focus on Virginia Giuffre on this thread is distracting from his use of other girls, and the other aspects of Andrew’s behaviour, his misuse of taxpayer’s money and the rest. If he is indeed experiencing hell on earth, it’s not undeserved by all accounts. A lot more detail about his misdemeanours is going to come out over the next few weeks by the looks of it, and hopefully that will lead to more of the Epstein users coming to light. Privilege should not protect people from justice.

It’s interesting how much energy is devoted to victim blaming and how much to suggesting “all” Prince Andrew did to cause offence was to have sex with a consenting prostitute.

Royal Protection Officers are bound by rules of confidentiality…. So in our Brave New World, let’s start an enquiry?
I wish….. stitch up is here to stay….

Virginia Giuffre is spoken of in O/P

Women do behave like this, not all obviously but some definitely do. Forcing themselves on under-age boys?

Onlymedea Sun 26-Oct-25 10:38:13

Babs03

Well it certainly won’t ronib if we keep saying that.
Thing is if men are unable to control their urges without needing prostitutes or becoming racists or pedos then medical science needs to come up with a drug that will dampen those urges.
If it were women behaving like this I imagine this drug would have been available decades ago.

Women do behave like this, not all obviously but some definitely do. Funnily enough no drug has been created for it.

Virginia wanted the payout.

ronib Sun 26-Oct-25 10:29:05

Check it out OldFrill Rev Aitken is very supportive of Prince Andrew. I don’t think it’s hard to confirm.
Sorry but the constant drip drip against Andrew is very obvious. A Royal Protection Officer should simply keep his mouth shut. Okay to report in house but please not to the news media.

The Rev Jonathan Aitken has some compassion for Prince Andrew citing family, friends and faith. I hope family doesn’t let him down and maybe he will find faith.
This will be a difficult time for the Royal Family one way or another.
Powerful men will have different responses to a situation and it was a mistake to search Giuffre’s background compounded by a breach of confidentiality. It feels as if someone is out to get him. But who?

I don't think Jonathan Aitken has publicly mentioned Andrew for a few years

Noone is "out to get" Prince Andrew. He has enlightened everyone to the fact he is a liar and abused his position as a member of the Royal Family. Many people believe he should not have been allowed to pay off Virginia Guiffre and he should not be above the law.

ronib Sun 26-Oct-25 10:15:19

Better than hell on earth then?

Allira Sun 26-Oct-25 10:13:47

Not surprising is it!

Perhaps Andrew will find God now too, thinking it might help him atone for his sins and ensure a place in Heaven. .

National and international policies and laws are in place to protect trafficked people, just seems they become even less effectual when women are trafficked to British Royalty.

Virginia Guiffre was not a prostitute.

Re the OP supposedly Andrew would have been trying to find out if VG had any convictions, especially prostitution so he could use those to discredit her - rather than pay her (someone he'd never apparently met) £millions to try to shut her up. The agreement included an NDA but only for a year apparently, thank goodness she wrote the book.

Anniebach Sun 26-Oct-25 08:57:22

Medication after the crime, too late.

I really don’t believe the cause is all down to upbringing

Iam64 Sun 26-Oct-25 08:49:32

It has to be boys and girls brought up to take care of themselves and respect others.

Smileless2012 Sun 26-Oct-25 08:46:42

I agree Babs that boys should be raised to respect women but the awful truth is girls do need to be mindful of where they go, who they're with and whether they're alone.

It shouldn't have to be that way, but it issad.

Iam64 Sun 26-Oct-25 08:37:40

Prisons and Probation have developed programmes for sex and domestic abuse offenders, results mixed

Iam64 Sun 26-Oct-25 08:36:33

Babs03 is right to point out we need to look to our sons rather than locking up our daughters.
The internet brings many positive changes. Easy access to pornography for any child with a smart phone isn’t one of them. It seems to be contributing to the normalisation of dangerous sexual practices. Adolescent girls reporting boys expect anal sex and choking.

We need to protect our children from our increasingly sexualised society. How ? Obviously by parenting, setting good examples, input from schools etc. is it too much to expect mobile phones for under 16s or 18s to somehow block inappropriate sites ?

25Avalon Sun 26-Oct-25 08:30:15

There is something called chemical castration which I believe repeat sexual offenders can undergo voluntarily to suppress their urges.

Babs03 Sun 26-Oct-25 08:20:38

And I meant rapists not racists.
Oh dear 🫤

Babs03 Sun 26-Oct-25 08:20:07

No Annie am talking about a minority

Anniebach Sun 26-Oct-25 08:11:32

Puzzled, all men to be given a drug to ‘dampen those urges ‘ ?
