Epstein is dead. Maxwell is in prison. Trump is sitting on the Epstein Files.
Andrew has sucked money out of the public purse to 'protect him', yet he and Fergie have apparently evaded all scrutiny apart from that exposed by journalists!
Hope he's made to pay us our money back as the 'protection officers' have failed miserably or been forced by the Royals to stay silent.

It's a mystery why the police protection officers have not been brought in to substantiate or refute his claims before now! They have followed him and his family throughout his life at huge expense to taxpayers. They would be able to tell us if he had been at the pizza restaurant at the time he claimed he was, how often he met Epstein and Maxwell, what he did during the times he was with them, who was invited by him to the various parties at the various palaces etc. His movements will have been logged hour by hour - funny they have never been scrutinised. No doubt why £12 million was paid to stop the sorry sordid goings on coming before the court. How can anybody trust the Royals or The Police if some openness is not forced out.

The late Queen was age 26 when she became Queen. the Princess of Wales became a future Queen consort age 29, the present Queen consort was 57 when she married the Prince of Wales, was not allowed to have the title Princess of Wales, she has never tried to be regal.
The late Queen was second to none, her husband certainly wasn’t head of the family or marriage.

Heard a big of background to Virginia Giuffrae this morning. If what is being stated as from her book why does it seem to be only Andrew who is being targeted. I am not saying he did no wrong, there does though appear to have been many others we never hear about.

That is what matters , even more than the future of the monarchy. The culture of owning other human beings must be halted.

Prince Andrew could save his reputation even at this late hour by confessing ,and being truly remorseful. His remorse would be expressed by enormous changes in his lifestyle. It's not impossible.
I believe if he did so it would benefit the monarchy.

You're quite right Babs. They live on an entirely different plane to the rest of us!

Even the Princess of Wales, a commoner, was a lot loss common than most of us. She had a privileged upbringing in a lot of respects. Having said that, I do think she was more in touch with real life and it's rubbed off a bit on William.

I like the the way crosstitchfan describes how she sees Camilla. Head of the WI, scout mistress - I’d add pony club leader, trainer of labs and spaniels. I simply can’t see her as the Queen, I can see Catherine as a queen in waiting but Camilla nope.

I used to have great respect and even love, for the royal family, especially Queen Elizabeth11, but now? I don’t dislike Camilla as a person, but just can’t get my head around her as the Queen of England. Head of the WI, maybe, a Scout mistress, but the Queen?? No, sorry.
I think that once her Majesty Queen Elizabeth died, that was the end of the monarchy, and that should have been that. No-one in the world could fill her shoes. She was an amazing example to us all and is still so sadly missed by those of us who were grateful for her loyalty, dedication and style.
Even Catherine, when the time comes, although people seem to like her, won’t dilute the sadness we feel without our precious Queen Elizabeth.

Every time I hear "The Queen" my brain is telling me that can't be right because the Queen is no longer with us. Then I realise it's Camilla. I agree with you Crossstitchfan, she's just not "The Queen" for me. I can't imagine our late Queen shopping dressed in jeans, or talking about "impossibly handsome men" in a tribute to Jilly Cooper.

Times move on and I accept that. and I actually think that Camilla is doing an ok job - she has diminished some of the "mystique" surrounding the monarchy and that's no bad thing in today's world. But she's just the King's wife as far as I'm concerned.

However anachronistic and set in a bit of a time warp our late Queen's life style was, it was just accepted by most of us. It will be a long time - if ever - we see another monarch like her.

Unfortunately, I think the late Queen was probably very aware of Andrew’s shenanigans, and also knew about how much was being covered up and swept under the carpet.

I also think Fergie has been kept pretty much on side as she knows where all the bodies are buried, (not literally).

I’m no fan of Prince Andrew, but it seems natural that if serious threats were made to a person, investigations would be made into the credibility and history of the accuser, if possible?🤔

my fear is all of this concentration on Andrew is that it detracts from something more important going on in the UK

The Metropolitan Police will never admit that their officer made enquiries abut the young woman as it would reflect badly. The prince should be banished to a remote island. All this taking away titles is just pure window dressing. The royal family have been protecting themselves, they don't give two hoots about the victims, they ever have and never will.

What new evidence Jane? So far all we know is that the Met is investigating claims made by the media.

PA is the brother of the King, Prince Edward and Princess Anne maybe their love for their brother is greater than some think, so why assume that they want him to be dragged out of the Royal Lodge kicking and screaming?

Virginia Giuffre’s book comes out tomorrow, there could be new evidence coming from that. Andrew’s biographer has also said there is a lot more to come out and has even said that Andrew will probably end up in prison.

It is common knowledge that Charles has been trying to get Andrew to move out of Royal Lodge for some time, he wanted him to move into Frogmore Cottage.

A lot of lies have been told by Andrew and Fergie. A woman called Lizzie Cundy who appears on a lot of chat shows is apparently a best friend of Fergie, she is claiming she had to appease Jeffrey Epstein after publicly denouncing him because he threatened her daughters and she was frightened for them. Beatrice and Eugenie received royal protection until they were in their early twenties so that doesn’t seem very credible.

I have never forgotten his tactlessness at Lockerbie in the immediate days after the crash.
