Hoping you have the best memories of your time with your beloved horse. My granddaughter at 3 was allowed to stroke a pony in the park and she’s smitten. Sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear that Primrose a very sad day for you and your DD.💐

I'm sorry primrose. She'll be sadly missed. My friend had horses and both had to be put down within a short space of time. It broke his heart.

I’m so sorry flowers. When we lost our girl the vet said old horses often go at this time of the year; it’s natures way of not letting them go through a winter. But that’s no consolation and it must have been such a shock for you and your daughter. Horses and ponies are with us for such a long time that it’s impossible to imagine life without them and you’ve given her a wonderful life. Condolences to you all x

So sorry Primrose. Making the decision is the last loving thing we can do for the animals we love

I was moved by this as the end of an era. What a tough time you’re having. Your husband xx

It is awful to lose a loved family animal. We built a little rock garden in memory of one of ours. We had had him for over 20 years - just a stray cat we adopted but a lovely natured one. I love horses but no where to put one here. You will have wonderful memories, you will never forget her.

Thinking of your family, so very sad but the correct decision 😔

So sorry to hear that Primrose. We know that they will most likely have a shorter lifespan than us but it's a heartbreaking decision to make.

I had to have my old boy PTS a few years ago. I still dream about him from time to time.

That is sad Primrose, especially as you tell us it's the end of an era. But what a lucky horse, to have been kept in comfort and care, until her natural time to go.

Our lovely old girl, well in her 30s had to be PTS this morning. My daughter went down to feed her and she was laying down in her field shelter and breathing heavily.
Couldn’t get up and not interested in her food.

I then went down and we called the vet who luckily was not far away. We all knew it was the right time and the vet was very kind to my daughter and her horse.

I am now waiting for her body to be collected.

That’s the end of an era and no more horses for us as since his stroke my husband has been unable to ride and his horse was PTS about 2 years ago. They have lovely memories of hacking out and endurance riding and hundreds of photos.
