Clocks go back an hour tonight. ⏰

I’ve just done all ours! I love a clock in every room. Plus we have a garden clock outside our front door. Good job we only live in a small apartment! I’ll do my (several) watches tomorrow. Bit of a faff isn’t it? Lighter mornings now and the nights draw in. I always think I’m not going to like it (I love sunshine, a summer born baby) but I admit I like the cosiness of lamps and drawn curtains around now. Do you?

Oven and microwave are switched off at the mains if not in use, so just my Winnie the Pooh clock in the kitchen to change. My wristwatch I’ve just done, I’ll do my car later, all tech does itself, marvellous.

grin🙏

Brilliant pic, RosieandherMaw!🤣

I only have one clock that has to be changed and that’s in the kitchen… Everything else is done it automatically.

Mt basic Doro phone (not a smartphone) didn’t update in the night. That confused me momentarily!

I find I spend today ‘converting’ the time forward in my head! Anyone else. I looked at the clock on the wall in our bedroom for example, saying 8am and immediately thought “it’s 9am”.

Yes Crosstitchfan I knew it was the wee small hours of the morning that the hour goes back. It’s just that I imagine most folk do it before they go to bed.

I woke at what I thought was ten minutes to three this morning and remembered that the clocks had to go back. You could have heard me groan from Lands End to John O’Groats. Cooker to adjust this morning, a small Waterford Crystal mantle clock and the clock over the conservatory doors which requires a ladder, so SiL will be required to sing for his supper this afternoon.
I hate the darker evenings which I find restricting - no early evening walks in the lanes, and I don’t drive in the dark if I can help it.

Do microwaves have the time of day on them ? I don’t think mine does well if it does it’s never been changed I only have one clock and one watch to change My gas stove doesn’t have a clock and I use it very little anyway
Good job I reread that…. clock was cock everywhere

No one told my cat who was crying and staring at me accusingly at what he thought was 7am.

Been awake since 4.30 thank goodness for candy crush😉 I think it’s just the oven clock and my car that needs changing.

GrannyIvy Sun 26-Oct-25 07:05:04

Most of our clocks change automatically just the cooker clocks, kitchen clock and a few others to manually do. Actually I’m just realising we have clocks in every room!! I never wear a watch though anymore. My car clock is always a faff I can never remember how to do it!!

Apart from the car, cooker and microwave we have 3 clocks on walls that require DH to bring a ladder in. We didn't think that through.

Calendargirl Sun 26-Oct-25 06:31:49

Well, I was awake usual time (6, but 5 now). I lay in bed for a while, but got up about 5.30 and started changing the clocks I didn’t do yesterday. I’m with FGT, love to hear clocks ticking and have about 14 around the house.

The cooker and microwave are the worst as I can never remember how to do them, but have got it written down or photographed now.

Oh, still got the cars, garage one and security alarm to do.

RosieandherMaw Sat 25-Oct-25 23:52:02

I used to spend most of the “extra” hour changing clocks all round the house but fortunately most of them seem to do it themselves.
There’s the car to do tomorrow and a couple of wall clocks.
But just think of those poor people down at Stonehenge……l

Clocks all done. I hate this time of year but it has to happen. Night night all. X

😁

Try telling the dog!
He'll have me up at 5.00 am new time tomorrow for his walk.
Shame I can't reset his clock.

Allira Sat 25-Oct-25 23:16:28

Well, that's tonight! 😀

In fact ours will go back tomorrow morning at breakfast time.

Crossstitchfan Sat 25-Oct-25 23:04:13

They don’t go back tonight. They go back at 2am tomorrow. How can you get it wrong?

Pantglas2 Sat 25-Oct-25 22:58:55

I’m with you FGT - I enjoy the whole rigmarole of adjusting and snuggling this time of year, back to our hibernating instincts maybe?

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 25-Oct-25 22:49:05

Tick, tock …

There are 379 timepieces at Windsor Castle, 500 at Buckingham Palace and 80 at the Palace of Holyroodhouse including organ clocks, astronomical clocks, musical clocks and mechanical clocks.

Allira Sat 25-Oct-25 22:41:52

And microwave!

Allira Sat 25-Oct-25 22:41:39

We have a new oven
confused

MollyNew Sat 25-Oct-25 22:38:04

Allira

Don't forget the oven and microwave!! 😀

My old oven was such a faff, it used to take me 3 months to get round to changing the clock on it! I never used the timer and I had a clock on the wall so it wasn't a priority smile

Shelflife Sat 25-Oct-25 22:28:59

Merlotgran , I do the same with my car.
Tomorrow it will be at the correct time!
