Morning, the ground is wet and we have clouds. Quiz last night was funny with my daughter and granddaughter in our team, we didn’t get placed, it was very busy.
I must update the spreadsheet with yesterday’s phone calls, I did get two new tyres on my car and was educated as to where my locking wheel nut is!
Today some garden pottering, the buddlea needs a good prune and I’ve the front tubs to plant up.
It’ll niggle for a while Susan your trust has been dented.

Good morning from a wet Essex coast but I think we are forecast the rest of the day to be dry.
DD1 rang me on the way to hospital last night to relieve her DH who was with S who has been there since Sunday. She has been very poorly, the result of having Covid then a chest infection.
I'm waiting for news this morning. I didn't sleep too well so a quiet day is planned.
I wish I lived closer to them but a 6 hour round trip is not just around the corner. I have plans to see them soon.

Good morning from sunny Suffolk after a lovely dry and sunny day yesterday. The wind made it an ideal day for drying washing.

My friend and I had a fascinating time at the local airfield which hosts a private flying club. It was too windy for light fixed wing planes( Somy knowledgable friend told me) but lots of helicopters flying in and out.

A group of 2 young mothers and their 5 young children arrived for lunch and it was delightful to hear the whoops of joy as helicopters came into land and take off. Lunch was good too.

I’m meeting another friend for coffee this morning and then,since October is one of my months on the church cleaning rota, I’ll pop down this afternoon for a last sweep up,especially the leaves in the porch.

Hope today is a good one for all.

My arm is like a brick this morning, worse than my flu jab 2 weeks ago. Shingles this time but apart from a very sore arm no after effects.

Full day tomorrow with the GC’s and the weather looks rainy. I’ve no idea what we will do as the youngest is really like a dog you have to exercise as he has so much energy.

I’m sorry your DH is still in ICU Dragonfly. I hope he recovers from his setback asap. Thoughts with FGTs as always.

The side effects from the vaccinations were brutal, so nothing much was achieved yesterday.

GMB, if you cannot get an appointment, regarding your leg, have you tried phoning NHS 24, explaining your health condition? They can be very helpful in securing an appointment.

I too have a stash of tins, in preparation for a nuclear winter. 😉.

Yesterday, I receive a letter from NHS Inform, asking me to complete a survey, on the care I have received from my surgery. I am carefully formulating my responses! 😉

Today, DH is accompanying me shopping 🙈, he wants a special type of Guinness, which can only be found in Home Bargains. I am not up to going on my own, nor lifting heavy bags into the car.
By a strange co-incidence, HB is right next to TKMaxx.😂
Hopefully, I will get my Nativity globe.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry and the sun is trying to shine. A red letter day here. We are off to Christie’s after lunch for iv chemotherapy for Himself.

He’s very upbeat (boosted by steroids - dexamethasone, which is 6x stronger than prednisolone apparently - so he’s on a ‘high’ anyway). “No treatment” would have been devastating news yesterday but I’m so very scared after the last attempt if I’m truthful. It must be what’s called a learned response.

The tapestry exhibition was very nice as was the pop up shop (gudrun sjoden) where I persuaded a friend to buy a top which really suited her... yet resisted spending megabucks myself.

I spent an hour or 2 in the archives doing research then watched a film at the storytelling centre made about the sculptor, furniture maker, woodworker, Tim Stead, whose Wood School, woodland and amazing house is to be saved for posterity. He died aged 48 in 2000, and his widow has been carrying on heroically until now.
The film, Tim Stead Magician with wood, is on STV this week infact if anyone is interested. His millennium clock is at the RSM. (Museum)

Today I have a meeting about resurrecting the ceilidh dancing, an exercise class, pots to finish, more to make and Gaelic class this evening.

I was very glad to read that himself has his mojo back FGT and I hope too that Mr Dragonfly continues improving.

Good morning all. Not a great start to the day in Glasgow. Wet and windy which doesn’t entice me to go out but I will wrap up and get out and get on with my plans.

Firstly, a visit to our local Kwik-Fit garage to have air pumped into a flat rear tyre where an always friendly helpful mechanic does the job FOC. Not something I can do myself presently with a dodgy back. Next stop a visit to a local tailor shop to have a winter coat altered. And, as always, more blooming admin to attend to! It’s never ending.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton; hopefully it stays dry because the towels are waiting to go on the line.

Another productive day yesterday; a good yoga class followed by coffee in the little cafe. Then home where I cleaned the bathrooms and mopped both bathroom floors.

During lunch I caught up with some of the weekend newspapers, then spent the afternoon on my cardigan again. I joined the side and sleeve seams and stitched the pockets in. I just have the border to catch down around the neck, and it's done, apart from blocking.

Will be joining the walking group again after lunch today, then will finish my cardigan.

Awaiting the arrival of Wonderful Cleaner and the chiropodist then off to a hospital on the far side of Bath to see what my MRI scan shows, if anything much. Am very wound up about it which is entirely unreasonable compared with the concerns already expressed this morning so am ashamed of being such a wuss, but realise just how much DH and I were a team and miss his calm and sensible presence.

However, the sun is shining and onwards and upwards needs to be the motto for today.

Good morning from a chilly but bright sunny Cambridgeshire.

Yesterday was a busy day with DD2 and the little ones. They loved pumpkin carving and the other little painting and colouring activities. I was happy but exhausted when they left.

I’m having a slow start today. Popped downstairs to get my morning coffee and managed to trip on the stairs and spill some coming back up so not a good start. I will go to the opticians to collect my new glasses this morning as didn’t get there yesterday, pop into Waitrose and home to do the ironing and not much else (hopefully).
DH has finished decorating our bedroom (at last) and is taking the old carpet and underlay up today ready for the new one to go down on Friday.

Susan I feel for you as five years ago I was in a similar situation with my dear mum. The care was on the whole excellent in the home but occasionally there would be an upsetting blip in standard of care.

Thinking if all those struggling and unwell and hoping today will be the best day for possible for everyone

Michael12, good morning and everyone!

As I've only ever lived alone and am not the in-person socialiser, only ever by myself in cafes, restaurants, and even in the local pub for breakfast, just after they open at 8, I did something last night that I very, very rarely do. I'm not actually anti-social, I'm just better online than off!

Last night, about 7, I was in a group of work colleagues who insisted I go with them for a pre-booked meal at the local pub I'm regularly in.

All the little tables were pre-put together as one long table, and there were 12 of us altogether!

All the meals had been pre-booked, so I had beer-battered fish, chips, mushy peas and a huge glass of Birra Moretti!

I had one glass, but several others had multiple pints and wines, and we all had a great time, leaving a couple of minutes after 9.

By the time I walked home a few minutes later, I was well and truly stuffed! I've had their fish chips and peas there before, and it's always lovely and tasty! And I love their huge glasses of banana/strawberry milkshakes with cream!

I love Gransnet and read it with my morning tea. My head spins with how busy you all are and how much you achieve! I envy the fact that you all seem so organised and ‘together’. I was like that once but time and illness seem to have toned my energy right down.
When I was younger, I aways used to think that when I grew old, I would wake up really early, and get so much done, but it hasn’t turned out that way! I don’t sleep well anyway, so sleeping late is the only way to catch up.
It was my daughter’s birthday on Sunday and the family (7 adults, a baby and two dogs) all went to hers for a buffet. The baby was fascinated by the dogs, both of which are rescues, and who had not met before. One is quite big and the other is tiny, and they were introduced to each other, and to the baby, who was fascinated and not a bit scared. The tiny dog loved it all, but the older, bigger one decided it was all too much and went to her basket after a while. The disdainful look on her face was a picture!
My good wishes to all who have hurdles today. Hopefully the sun will shine, which often seems to make things seem less depressing.

I’m in awe of how much you all accomplish each day , I’m still not dressed ,
I have to finish tidying the spare room , I vowed every time the visitors leave I’ll keep it nice ! But the odd spare suitcase gets dumped , spare clothes en route to storage halt at the wrong stop , but I do leave the bed to air and only put clean sheets on just before new arrivals ! Alas it isn’t often enough !
I’ve more pelargonium cuttings to plant up , they go in the greenhouse for now but I hope to get them in the spare room before the frost
Just finishing my cup of decaf, off to the shower

I'm feeling rather like a medieval lady because I have got both Quince & Medlars in my pantry. Both are quite an acquired taste, so I wouldn't expect MrIlovedogs to touch with them with a
barge -pole!
