Good morning from Cambridgeshire. I think today will be a rather wet one.

Karmalady the gansey jumper is so lovely thank you for posting the pics. I never mastered knitting …. that is awful about the shed break ins.

I think today will be a quiet one. I will go out for a walk and potter around doing jobs in the house. DH is cycling rain permitting and lunch out with his old school friend.

Wishing a good day to all 🤗

Good morning from a very grey Essex coast, rain is due later.
S was discharged yesterday feeling much better which is a big relief. Fingers crossed her lungs are given a chance to heal.
I have a pile of ironing to tackle plus some admin to finish.
Thinking of the FGT'S and hoping all went well yesterday.
Have a pleasant Wednesday, best wishes to all xx

Good morning from South Lanarkshire, it’s damp again.

Beautiful work Karma.

Aldom, you will have mixed emotions I’m sure.

School and nursery pick up day for us. We will go over early though so I can get their evening meal prepared and in the slow cooker. I have been given the go ahead to do more sorting and clearing.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from a grey W Kent where I shall spend the morning chatting and drinking tea with a friend.
Yesterday we visited our special local garden which is now closing until March.
Beautiful knitting karmalady
Hope the move goes well Aldom
Best wishes

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I hope all went well with the FGT2S yesterday.

Yesterday was mainly laundry and I made another cake - raspberry, lemon and yoghurt.

OH visited his bees. He had to prepare the hives for winter.

I’m not sure about today. There is always ironing. It is my Book group tomorrow so I need to write up some book reviews. I may make beef pie for dinner.

Have a good day.

Good morning from a damp East Midlands.

They have moved DH to a side ward in ICU as they suspect Norovirus. They were going to X-ray him yesterday to see why he isn’t healing as he should so we may know more today.
DS is still here waiting on me hand and foot and DD is coming on Sunday.
I am very worried about him.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning from a still dark NE. Thankfully the wind has dropped, it was so blustery yesterday.
DD and SIL came yesterday and we did a grocery shop, DD bought tops in the sale, some of them were under £2. I looked but there was nothing in my size.
Set up my appointment with BT engineer to convert phone to digital, can't imagine using the landline much as I tend to use my mobile.
DD is travelling home today, don't know when I will see her again.
Have a good day.

Good morning Mick and everyone.

karmalady the gansy is absolutely stunning.

This is my last full day 'at home '.
The removal men come tomorrow to clear the house. I shall spend Thursday night in the local hotel.
Some of my closest friends are joining me for supper.
Leaving dear friends isn't easy.
I travel to Shropshire on Friday and will stay with my family until Monday when I move into my new home.
Thinking of all who are worried, sad or suffering in other ways.

Good Morning from MS where the daily temp has dropped 9 degrees fr yesterday! The cooler temp (18c) means we might be able to spend the whole morning tidying up in the garden - our regular high temps mean 2 hours is our absolute maximum before we start to melt! I also need to nip to the Post Office for stamps, & drop a few items off at the charity shop.
Greyduster: 💐b/c that beautiful silver birch will be a v hard loss.

Good morning from s somerset, dreary and wet until this afternoon

Everything happened yesterday morning, I made too much work for myself when normally I can pace, then dpd came with a refurbished big electrical item, I needed to unpack that and test it, then remove all the packing. In the meantime ocado came and I made a cake and I re-learnt how to use that jumper board

I sewed in the ends on gansey and washed it, with trepidation but also with confidence, in my washing machine on wool wash with wool detergent. It went nicely on the board and was easy to stretch to the needed measurements. It was sunny and it was almost dry by early afternoon. I put 3 photos up here, the hem details, a portion of pattern and the jumper on the board

I was utterly whacked by 2 pm and then my neighbour called but my voice was very tired and dull, she could tell and left soon, I only spoke at the door

I had a lot of tidying to do and had bits and bobs to eat, not really a proper meal. Then I did some soothing spinning to relax

Today will be normal, apart from the fact that for the first time ever, several allotment sheds were broken into last night. Locks broken and wood panels torn off locked sheds, thankfully I had already brought my best tools home and never have a lock on my shed. I have a lock on my keter storage box and will remove that today, I only had it on because of storms. I will just push a piece of bamboo through the clasp instead.

I will drive up to the site in the rain this morning, no doubt there will be several people there

Have a good day

Good morning from Malta where we expect another dry day with a high of 24°C. The wind seems to have dropped.

Not sure what I shall do this morning as I got all my jobs done yesterday. However, there is tennis to watch from Paris so I might have a look at that despite my favourite player being knocked out in his first match yesterday.😞

The boys are coming over after school so I shall look forward to seeing those little faces at the door.

Wishing you all a good day whatever you are doing.☀️

Good morning, wet and chilly here on the hillside in south Glos, a soggy dogs day ahead I suppose 🤷🏼‍♀️
I walked tiddler soon after 7am yesterday, very early but a good start to the day before tackling the utility room. We heaved the old dryer out into the front garden, dripping water from the venting hose everywhere 😵‍💫, the new one doesn’t have a hose.
DH and I collected the new-to-me tumble dryer from the village, a bargain well spotted!
Luckily my neighbour’s son was at home so he and DH manoeuvred it out of the car, down the steps and into the utility room. I’d spent a good couple of hours having a thorough clean and tidy, it certainly needed it 🙄. It’s looking good now.
It was nearly lunchtime by the time DH had taken the old one to the recycling centre and I’d finished tidying, put away an Ocado shop and sat down with a coffee, I was pooped.
I finished my watercolour and mixed media painting, very pleased with it, I might even get a frame for it. I have another one ready to go so that’s next.
Today I don’t have anything planned, definitely more painting and the usual housework.
Best wishes to you all 🌹

Morning Mick, morning All from a wet corner of Somerset.

The trials of password changing behind us we’ll be out early today to leave the car at the garage. The broken door mechanism will finally be fixed. After walking (dripping) from the garage to town a breakfast was planned before a bus to the nearest city for the morning. We’ll see how Mr C’s foot is, he was reminded painfully of its presence yesterday triggering much grumbling. Oh well we can always get the bus home so he can rest it. The wretched man won’t hear of me taking the car on my own to save him the walk from the garage. I suspect that’s more about missing a breakfast than care for my safety. smile.

Thinking of all with mountains to climb. Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from Bristol, where it’s raining. Wet all day methinks.
Ilovedogs, I love quince jelly which I make as often as I can, have tried to make membrillo but the hot “blopping” burned my arms too much, so I’ve given up. Medlar jelly is pleasant but not as nice as quince. I prefer the blossom on the tree.
The baking went well - I made my fail-proof peanut butter, gluten-free cookies, chocolate biscuits and a fruit cake in the morning.
A short bus journey to the chemist, popped into the library on my way to the surgery where I had an appointment with the physio this afternoon. I felt a fraud as the bad pain had disappeared, but he reassured me that frozen shoulders very, very reoccur. He examined me and said I had slight rotor cuff problems, that all the tai chi etc., that I do daily are the type of exercises he would have recommended , and we parted good friends!
FAB cafe this morning - it’s half term and raining, so many people won’t come. We’ll see.
A new baby quilt is well on its way as I made twice the number of blocks I needed for the previous one.
May your day be full of contentment and occasional chinks of joy. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Shropshire.Dark and raining at the moment but due to clear up later.

Grandmabatty I am pleased you have managed to get a drs appointment but so sorry to read about your DGS’s accident.Poor little man and such an upset for you all.Wishing him a good recovery.

Wishing everyone the best day possible and hoping for good updates from all with worries about loved ones and those with health issues🦩🌻

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Still dark in South Yorkshire. I have been awake half the night with pain in my foot. No idea whether it is arthritis or something else, but ibuprofen gel made it worse. Doesn’t bode well for the day.

Yesterday involved mostly domestic tasks but in the morning I watched from my kitchen window as a lovely silver birch tree was systematically demolished in a nearby garden. It was a bit of a giant. There must have been a good reason to fell it, but it didn’t seem diseased and was a refuge for many birds - especially redwings and field fares in the winter. It saddened me and I shall miss it.

I had a long harrowing conversation with my niece in the afternoon who has just lost her father. They had a complicated and uneasy relationship.

This morning I will go to the gym early and then this afternoon is writers group at the library which will be a welcome relief.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Pantglas2 Wed 29-Oct-25 05:34:58

Good morning Mick and all who follow from a cool and dark North Wales coast where I’m back to enjoying the chamberpot of Yorkshire Gold under the trees anon…😋

I remember being given quinces ILoveDogs, and after reading up, made quince jelly with half of them and placed the rest amongst my bed linen which scented the cupboard beautifully!
The only medlar here at PG Towers is my interfering heart’s desire…😂(differently spelled of course)

Caught up with so many of your doings and all the hospital appointments…so many accompanied but solos too (Granny Somerset) hard enough with a hand to hold but extra courageous alone 👏.

A quiet day for me cooking and catching up with admin before a trot round to my friend’s up the road with a wallet I brought back from my travels - I managed to wreck the zip on her old one whilst attempting to fix it🤬

Have a good day x
