Good morning Mick and everyone

It's moving day (at last) so just a quick hello. I've stripped my bed and bagged the bedding. Not long till the men arrive to finish the packing.
Just having a coffee before the day really gets going. I can't believe I'm really leaving my home, but it will be so good to see my family again.
I'm thinking of everyone currently struggling with life for whatever reason. Wishing the best for you all. smile

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from what will be a blue sky South Yorkshire today. There was a lovely soft, rosy sunrise this morning. I had a very reasonable but not unbroken night’s sleep. I’ll take that.
Yesterday, writers group was cancelled so I spent most of the afternoon clearing up leaves in the front garden. A bit of a pointless task as it will pretty soon be covered again, but it was an excuse to work outside for a while.
Walking group this morning and lunch with DD, then I will call in on my niece on the way home.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 0°C.

For some reason our heating has been on all night. I went down at midnight and thought I had sorted it, but it was on at 5am,
The chief heating controller was to blame, unfortunately he was snoring away, probably dreaming about golf or football.

I promised my family that I would rest yesterday, but of course I lied. It is Dollie's birthday soon, andcI spent the afternoon (with frequent rests) looking for a particular present. The present was never found, probably because on checking my account, I had never bought it in the first place. I only thought I had bought it. I am seriously losing my marbles.
However, there was a positive outcome, the Christmas gifts I have, are now in bundles for each person. I'm pleased about that.
I may have overdone things with gifts for my girls. I keep picking up bargains and then forgetting about them.

Today we have Babydoll, so yesterday I got the breadmaker out and made the fruit bread, she loves.
DS sent me a message saying that she refused to go to nursery on Monday, insisting she was coming here. Oh no she is not, I laughed, one day a week is all I can manage, it takes a week to recover. 😂
I have no idea what our plan is. Mr Doll is in difficult mode at present.
My suggestion of coffee at the garden centre, which BabyDoll loves, was met with the usual eye rolling from DH. He has become almost a recluse. 😪
Unfortunately, I am no longer physically able to manage her on her own, or I would go out.😪

I wish you all a pleasant day and best wishes for the poorlies.

Good morning from Malta where the forecast is for a cloudy day, possibly with thundery showers, and a high of 24°C.

Had a rather lazy day yesterday until the boys arrived after school. I then kept DGS1 whilst his brother went for a haircut and to the supermarket with his mum.

They don’t have their hair cut at the same time as DGS1 absolutely hates it and cries his heart out, poor little chap.

He enjoyed his one-on-one time. We read stories, played ‘catch’ with his ball and made a rather convoluted train track with my son’s old Brio set which has stood the test of time!

I haven’t planned today yet but will see what the weather is doing once I’m up and about. Still lounging in bed at the moment contemplating life.🫣

Glad to hear your DH is making progress dragonfly fingers crossed he will soon be back home.

That was kind of the shop lady Susan, I bet your grandson was happy.☺️

Wishing a good day to all especially the mountaineers. ☀️

Good morning all from a dry and calm Torbay.

Thank you for the good wishes and messages yesterday for our anniversary. Wednesday Club was busy with people keen to discuss ways of increasing membership of our theatre company and audience numbers, neither of which have returned to pre-pandemic levels.

Later, I coped fairly well with the choir practice after missing two sessions. I think the time listening to the work (Bach's B Minor Mass) online with score in hand in France paid dividends.

Today I shall be at the hospital with a group of volunteers on a tour of inspection of the premises including sampling the meals. I enjoyed the food when I was a patient there in March so I expect to like that part of the day!

Wishing everyone as good a day as circumstances permit. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from 6 degrees Cambridgeshire probably rising to 12 degrees later.

Planning a shopping trip into Cambridge today and lunch out with DD2.

I’m still struggling with the clock change I am most definitely a summer person and have this wish to hibernate until March. Give me another couple of weeks and I’ll get into it😂

Wishing the best day to everyone 💐

Good morning from s somerset, cloudy and breezy today with a tiny pop of sun

I do feel rested today after a very relaxing day yesterday, my teak utensils came and I have swapped out for my plastic ones, including silicone. I needed to put the teak ones in a better place so have sorted three kitchen drawers. The only silicone I kept are a couple of bowl scrapers. That was a satisfying easy job

The stove was lit mid afternoon and I made socks for the rest of the day, had a go at the boomerang heel but did not like it, frogged that bit and have returned to good old-fashioned old English heel. Sock making will happen for weeks now, everyone will be getting hand made woollen socks for Christmas

My own exercise should not be neglected so I am off around town later, not taking money, so no temptation to spend and the faster I walk, the quicker I get back to my nest

Then sock making, drawer stuffing and bread slicing for the freezer. House looks clean enough and will do. Might put dried beans to soak, cook and freeze

Have a good day

Good morning, it is dark here still.
DH seemed a little better yesterday and they are talking about moving him back to the ward. We had to gown and mask up though as he is still infectious. He will be much happier when all the tubes are removed.
I shall go alone today as DS has meetings. Then I shall pop to Sainsbury’s for somee food DS will cook.
It is lovely, he won’t let me lift a finger, not even feed the dog!

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Morning Mick, morning All from a dry corner of Somerset - for now. Rain forecast later.

We enjoyed a bus outing yesterday while the garage ministered to the car. The only down side being the unpleasant walk to and from the garage in what seemed very wet rain. Mr C struggled a bit while refusing to use his stick. There’s no sense sometimes.

A catching up day today, dust to remove and if the weather permits a tip run followed by a charity shop drop off. All mundane but necessary stuff.

Good wishes to you all. Have the best day you can everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 30-Oct-25 06:37:38

Good morning from a brightening S E Essex.

I have some ironing to do, might pop into M & S Food Hall as I didn’t go yesterday.

No GC today 🙋‍♀️

Good morning from Shropshire.Feels chilly this morning.

Sun forecast this morning so we may get away with not putting the heating on yet.The conservatory heats up and warms the downstairs.

The children enjoyed the Halloween crafts. We took them to the holiday club after lunch.DGD ran in but DGS clung to me like a limpet.I would have been happy to take him home but DD wanted him to try it so after half an hour of tears he decided he would stay.He kept his fleece coat on the whole time but did enjoy himself in the end.He made a funny little belt with a pot on it🤷‍♀️afterwards DD took them for ice cream and the lady in the shop filled his little pot with marshmallows!

Today we are going to Liverpool with DD and the children.

Like grandMattie I think of you all but worry about missing anyone out so send my good wishes to all and thinking of those with worries and struggles.

Wishing you all the best day possible🦩🌻

Good morning all. Chilly start with high winds and rain today in Glasgow.

One of those see what the day brings today with a hairdressers appointment this afternoon. With such high winds and rain due I will be blown into the salon and blown back to the car, hopefully, hairdo intact.

Best wishes to all for a good day.

Good morning from a damp and chilly spot in south Glos, I’ve been awake since 4 🤷🏼‍♀️
A friend suggested we escape bot from housework yesterday and try a cafe that’s reopened in the next village so off we went! A very pleasant couple of hours was spent nattering and enjoying the delicious scones with a pot of tea.
She’s coming along for coffee this morning as I need some advice on mounting a piece of art work, looking forward to seeing her again.
I did finish the housework except for the ironing, that’ll get done today, then I just flopped for most of the afternoon. I was ridiculously tired for some reason.
I think the dogs’ walks will be wet ones today, not that they mind one bit. They do have coats if needed.
Chicken casserole for dinner with mash I think 😋, maybe dumplings too?
Sending hugs to everyone who needs them 🌹

grandMattie Thu 30-Oct-25 05:40:43

Good morning from a dry Bristol. It’s quite chilly.
I had a rubbish night again, having been awake since 3am ☹️
FAB caf3 went well,; there were more attendees than I expected, including 4 newbies. The numbers and attendees fluctuate, some come every week, others come and go. The baking went down well.
I was (and have been) very tired at the moment, so did very little.
I must go to town this morning to get some spray fabric glue for my quilt. It’s expensive but so much easier that a million safety pins to hold the block, wadding/interfacing and backing together.
I may not mention you, but always wish you well in your vicissitudes. All mountaineers are hugged and prayed for.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
