Glad to hear your health’s steady and your check-up is sorted. It’s dry here too, though still gloomy. Your Bicester trip sounds like a nice routine - seeing familiar faces and getting out always lifts the mood. Hope it all goes smoothly and you find a few good bits while shopping. Take care and have a good start to the week!

Good morning everyone from a grey and wet Northampton, a real let-down after yesterday's lovely sunshine.

DS picked me up yesterday morning and took me to the shops, and then offered to come and pick me up when I'd finished, which was lovely. I had time to have a coffee and cake in our M&S Cafe, which sadly is closing this Saturday. Apparently M&S in their wisdom are closing a lot of their cafes attached to food stores. It will be much missed, as it was very popular, even more so after Sainsburys closed their cafe, and lots of people used it for social reasons as well as just shopping. Now there is only a small Costa, which I shan't be using as I dislike Costa coffee.

Got most of the stuff I needed yesterday - and some I didn't! Some black jeggings from Poundland - I had been waiting months for my size and style to be in stock. And also a couple of smart evening tops from Next which I will try on today to see if they suit.

Yoga this morning then home to do a bit of pottering and tidying, followed by an afternoon of knitting.
Will make a large batch of macaroni cheese later and freeze it in portions - I find it freezes very well.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Good morning from a wet and gloomy S E Essex.

I have to vacate the house just after 8am today, the flooring company are here re-boarding the hall, kitchen, downstairs cloakroom and laundry/utility room. Then they have to poor latex all over the boards to get a smooth and ,even surface ready for flooring tomorrow. Hopefully we should be allowed in around 3ish.

I will go to the gym and have a tea and chat afterwards, then probably go to Lakeside for a mooch.

(((Hugs))) 🙋‍♀️

Morning Mick, morning All. A grey, damp day is forecast after cheerful sunny spells yesterday.

Back to normal today after a day full of chat yesterday. Not sure how the day will unfold, some routine stuff to do this morning then if energy allows perhaps a shopping trip, or just some tv catchup.

Hope those little lads are content this morning grandmab and this week is better for you grandmattie, one way or another you’ve had an exhausting time.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Morning all from a grey, slightly breezy West Oxfordshire.

All being well, the usual Monday. Our cleaner should come this morning and I will go to Waitrose. I have ordered two new bath mats so I should be able to click and collect them. I also have some documents to post and will ask for a Certificate of Posting. We made copies of course! Also, a couple of things for the Charity Shop. Finally, a trip to SpecSavers. I was prescribed long distance as well as my usual reading glasses last year. I only really started using the long distance ones recently for driving and for reading subtitles on the television. I decided it would be easier to leave one pair in the car and have the other in the house. I’ll see what they say.

Someone on GN was talking about portion sizes in restaurants getting bigger. They are! We had a delicious lunch out yesterday but I had so much beef that I took half of it home. This will be either a treat for the cats or a sandwich for me.

Have a good day everyone. 🪻🪻🪻FGT2s.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s dry, cloudy and 12 degrees outside. I was awake at 5 again this morning and couldn’t get back to sleep. DD2 and family came over yesterday morning after swimming and before the 7 year old went to a party later. DD2 changed the batteries in the heating thermostat, after she’d gone I realised that the clock needed to be reset. With instruction manual in hand I managed to press all the right buttons and all seems to be working properly.
I’ll go for a walk this morning and carry on with the admin relating to my godmother’s death.

grandmattie, that must have been upsetting for you.

karma I hope your boiler is fixed soon, it’s fortunate that the weather is still fairly mild and your house retains the heat.

Thinking of all those who have worries of any kind.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning all from a windy looking North Leicestershire.

DH has the gym at 10.00 so a bit of a slow start this morning. We have to go into Nottingham this afternoon but apart from that a pootling and faffing day ahead.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire. Just getting light but it looks rather a damp start. Yesterday I had a lovely Sunday lunch out with the family. That, and the visit from DS yesterday, made for a very happy weekend. Weekends are my nemesis these days.
I shall have to make up my mind shortly whether to go walking this morning or go to the gym. In truth I don’t want to do either, but if I don’t do something I shall feel guilty all day! But, coffee first!
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from s somerset, bright today with pops of sun

A warm house yesterday with no added heat, apart from the sun. I have a feeling (and a hope) that the engineer can finally come and repair my boiler this week. It all depends on the ariston part. There have been upsides, especially in me getting to know my house better and how best to use a single source of heat to preserve the house temperature at a safe minimum

My body took about 3 weeks to adapt to being cooler and it was good to know that it can still do that at my age. My body also appreciated the warm and cosy effect of pure wool and wearing layers, including a fine silk vest. When I do finally get my central heating back, then I will be able to adjust my thermostats downwards

I did sort my other kitchen storage, the unused fitted fridge/freezer, never switched it on, far too small as a fridge/freezer for my lifestyle. It holds all the small bits and bobs and is very useful. I cannot ever see me changing my lifestyle which involves wholefoods, fermentations, herbs etc but all that paraphernalia does take up space

Today I have craft group and have a new pair of socks on my needles. I will take those. I finished the size 12s and these are size 6.

Have a good day

Good morning from soggy South Lanarkshire.

I have a free day today so will just meander through it and see where it ends.

Our reduced poppy display looks good in the centre of the town, now it’s full steam ahead with the Christmas tree and angels. Yesterday a few of our yarn group spent the afternoon fixing garden netting to the metal frame of our tree. This will hold the crochet squares in place, a job for another day.

thanks for gM

Wishing you all a good day.

Good morning from a dark and damp Black Country. Where I am up much earlier than usual. The high here will be only 14C, with chance of rain.

Monday morning walking group this morning. Then home to lunch and off to Merry Hill to have my Covid jab at Boots. The cost was almost £100! I used to have it for free as I have Asthma, but they have changed the rules and I can no longer have it on NHS. At 72 I am too young!

gM flowers

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning all.

I’ve been awake since 3:45 having gone to sleep at 11:30 which is most annoying. I’ll be very tired later on. It’s a regular occurrence.

I reported my UTI on the yellow card system. This started early Wednesday morning following Shingrix vaccine Monday afternoon not having had one for 5 decades. Others have reported UTI after. Still have some symptoms.

Later we are going to a Halloween party. Kids are very excited. I’ll make some decorated biscuits. It was delayed as their cousins were on holiday in Sri Lanka over half term.

Hope your GS2 is feeling better after his op. GB. Hope anyone in the sick bay is doing well.

Have a good start to the week all.

Good morning from Malta where the high is forecast at 23°C.

The plumber arrived right on time yesterday and I now have a shiny new tap in working order! He also very kindly shinned up the ladder and changed the light bulb above my back patio door.

I took Milo for a walk which did us both good. He is very well behaved on the lead thank goodness.

Didn’t do much the rest of the day until the tennis final which I enjoyed.

No plans for today but will need to go and buy milk, plus walk Milo. He’s already squeaking at me!

grandMattie 💐

Hoping Grandmabatty’s little grandsons are both doing well today. It has been traumatic for them both as well as for the grown-ups!

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Good morning, it’s another damp start here in south Glos, I am hoping for more sunshine like yesterday’s beautiful afternoon. The sun shining on the gold and auburn beech trees was spectacular.
I spent sometime doing the ironing then a couple of hours framing and hanging pictures in my craft room, rather pleased with the results! It’s the first time I’ve ever framed or hung anything I have done 😊
I was very tired and wobbly by late afternoon, I seem to run out of energy by then and my legs feel weak, so a lovely bubble bath and to bed early with my book.
Today I will spend a couple of hours at the school, potting up bulbs for the children to sell on their garden produce stall and seed cleaning for next spring’s sowing. I will take a folding chair and a flask of coffee, everything is child height in the big garden shed…..too low for me to work comfortably.
Then I will definitely get on with my next painting, I need a few hours of uninterrupted time to concentrate 😁
I hope this week goes well for everyone 🌹

Good morning from Bristol. After a sunny afternoon, w3 are forecast gloomy/wet weather all day today.
I left church without talking to anyone as I was in tears; the last hymn was one we’d had for Philip’s funeral.
The rest of the day was quiet, watching silly films. Dinner was another portion of Shakshouka, I’ve frozen the rest.
Tesco this morning. Empty afternoon.
I must go to the surgery; they copied the wrong PoA and I need to take the health one to them. It’s idiotic as I had both in the same envelope and some infant didn’t look at what she was photocopying.
May this week bring molehills to our mountaineers.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
