Good morning all from a dull Black country where we have had overnight rain.
Early start today back on playgroup duties after the half term break, may tackle some housework when I return.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️.

Good morning from a bright W Kent. Just three of us at art group yesterday we discussed whether to continue twice a month, others have valid reasons for not being able to come and sadly falls and illness combined with young GC feature largely.
Friend popping round this morning and that’s it for today.
Glad the boiler is done karma
Best wishes

Good morning all from North Leicestershire where it is a bit rainy.

Our cleaner us due at 9 am and DH is off to the gym and then a gym get together in a nearby coffee shop.

It was a sad day here yesterday. Our recently retired next door neighbour was mugged in Rio de Janeiro and needed emergency surgery for 2 brain bleeds. No word yet on her recovery but her mistake appears to have been refusing to let go off her bag. As it is, she has lost their passports, most of their cash and her mobile phone.

Also, Dd3's lovely cat was run over.

Hoping today is better all round.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s still dark but looks dry at the moment, we’ve rain forecast for later
Good news about the boiler Karma
I’m going to the gym this morning and then I’ve a dentist appointment later this afternoon.
Same here Baubles with the Mary Poppins theme as yesterday I called into DD2s and helped tidy the children’s bedrooms, empty the dishwasher, put the washing away etc. Not much really but think it helped a bit and looked much tidier when she got in!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s dry, mild, with some cloud. Not sure what the weather will do today.
The tree surgeon came and trimmed my silver birch tree, he says it’s healthy so I won’t worry too much about it falling onto a neighbour’s garden.
Saw my dementia friend in the afternoon, she is asleep most of the time now.

karma you must be relieved that your boiler is working now, even though you have adapted to the cooler house.
susan I hope the FaceTime call with your mum goes well.

grandmabatty it’s good that your dgs2 isn’t in too much pain, and is able to enjoy playing with you.

Thoughts with all who are struggling in any way.

Have as good a day as is possible everyone.

Good morning from a brightening S E Essex.

DD wants to go to a local market this morning, and wants me to go with her (I imagine as bag carrier)

We have got some low/no noise fireworks for The Imp and his brother tonight, the other cousins have got big proper fireworks.

(((Hugs))) to all in need 🙋‍♀️

Good morning from damp and mild South Lanarkshire.

Pleased to hear that your little lad is doing well after his op batty.

Childminding for us but only after school/nursery. We will go over early so that I can prepare their evening meal and do a bit of tidying and organising for which I’ve been given the go ahead. DDoutL says I’m like Mary Poppins, spit spot!

Best wishes to all for a good day.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s not quite light in South Yorkshire yet but it looks damp. I think this afternoon may be better. Thankyou for all your birthday good wishes yesterday.
A lovely visit from DD and SiL yesterday evening. It was a work day for both of them yesterday and a decent way to then come to me in the dark and wet. They gave me a lovely little Roberts radio for my birthday. I cooked a roast chicken dinner which was much appreciated.
Writers group at the library this afternoon. I shall do a bit of shopping while at the mall.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning all. Rain overnight and it is predicted to continue throughout the day in Glasgow reaching a high of 16deg. Guy Fawkes night therefore will be a bit of a damp squib no doubt. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I had a good day yesterday. Weather was calm, dry and mild for this time of year. DD1 dropped in for coffee after school drop off, both of us in an upbeat mode and feeling motivated enough to attack our respective to do lists. Two days of lesser pain helps, I did a necessary Waitrose shop, sorted out the house alarm upgrade then spent some blissful time foutering around in the garden with the obligatory coffee break al fresco.
Also potted up 10 Paperwhite bulbs which will go on the kitchen table once they begin to sprout.

I am hoping there are signs of progress for your DH today Dragonfly. Sending strength to you, your DS and DD to help you through the anxious times you are all facing.

Best wishes to all for a good/better day.

Good morning from s somerset, it might be bright today and it might be dry

My boiler is fixed, the engineer turned up unexpectedly because the part arrived yesterday mid morning and he only has to travel a mile. I feel much better psychologically. now that I don`t have to worry about winter heating

I will be bottoming my bedroom, already changed the sheets and am minded to ignore Alexa who said showers today. My washing machine is full but I am not sure about pressing the start button yet

Bus timetables need to be downloaded and printed and put onto the freezer, it is complicated here. There is a Christmas artisan fair at the cathedral next weekend and I am going, might as well make a day of it and take the bus

In the meantime, I am expecting a parcel today, being APC I don`t get a delivery window. I will wait in for that and get myself out onto a town walk afterwards

Have a good day

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and damp again. Susan I hope the call works out. GrandMattie don't feel too sorry for Teflon man!
Yesterday was spent with dgs2 who is managing his stookie very well. His arm was sore on a couple of occasions and he needed Calpol but otherwise he was a happy boy. He played with the train set and cars, play dough and a bit on the iPad and was content most of the time. He has a great imagination and I had to play with him. After I dropped them off, I tidied up and had a fairly early night. I was awake a lot but slept ok, if that makes sense.
Today I'll do an hour in the school library. One of the teachers has involved her class in helping to put books away, so there's less for me to do these days. Back home, I'll continue to sort out the dining room. Have a good day all.

Good morning from Shropshire where it is still raining.

We are expecting a face time call this morning from mum and the activities manager at the care home.I am not sure it will be a success but will give it a try. They do this with a couple of the other residents who live at a distance from family too.

School pick up later and then both children have activities so a hectic few hours.

Hoping that all with worries and struggles have a better day.

Wishing everyone the best day possible🌻🦩

Good morning, it’s drizzling over my spot in south Glos, the pavement looks damp from my bedroom window.
Yesterday was a bitty sort of day, nothing much achieved.
The kerbside charity collection took five bags so that’s good, I’m sure there will be more!
I spent a hour or so making fish chowder yesterday, it was rather yummy, there's enough for today too so that’s dinner sorted if I bake some baguettes to go with it.
I also did some painting but I’m not sure if I like what I’ve done or not so it might end up in the recycling bin.
Today I don’t have anything planned, I will see how it goes after walking the dogs. I feel a bit restless so I might go for coffee tomorrow after my hair dresser appointment, go to the garden centre or something? No good asking DH to come, he’s reluctant to do anything at the moment.
I suspect bigger dog will be upset by the fireworks tonight, I’ll make sure she has a den under my work table ready for her, poor girl. Tiddler seems impervious to everything so she’ll probably spend the evening asleep on my lap 😊
Best wishes to you all 🌹

Good morning from Malta where isolated showers are forecast with a high of 22°C.

This morning I have my nails after which I will see DD3 and the boys and will return Milo and the canary to them. I will miss them, they have been good company.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Morning Mick, morning All from a damp looking corner of Somerset.

Enjoyed routine stuff at home yesterday morning before spending the afternoon reading and generally being idle. Little energy expended which is perhaps why sleep was elusive last night.

Off fairly early (for me!) to meet a friend, coffee and lunch allows a lot of catching up and putting the world to rights. A tedious journey but worth it. Mr C is looking forward to a peaceful day, a new jigsaw, his book and the steak he’ll cook for his lunch.

Best wishes to all. Have the best day you can everyone.

grandMattie Wed 05-Nov-25 05:34:27

Good morning from Bristol. Like Mick, the pavements here are wet and we expect more drizzle.
Last evening, I received a mail saying we had raised in the region of £500 In refreshments last Saturday. A good sum for the organising dementia group.
Yesterday morning was spent cleaning, etc., boring but necessary. I also looked for the health PoA for ages to no avail. I think DD took it: I suspect she doesn’t trust me with all sorts since the scam. Hey ho.
In the afternoon, I had this church thing. I’m always surprised at how little most people contribute to discussions. One lady took my neighbour and me home in her car because of drizzle. She stayed on for a cuppa.
I enjoyed the finale of GBBO, and feel that the finalists were worthy of their places. However, I also think that the showstoppers are getting ridiculously fanciful.
Today,I’m staying here for our resident organised coffee morning. The Teflon area manager will be showing up. I don’t think he’ll have an easy ride, poor man. He’s being squeezed by the (equally useless) top managers as well as us.
A meeting this afternoon will end the day.
May you all have a peaceful day and that the sickbay gets emptier and emptier.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦤

The rain is pouring down in my bit of Lancashire, but it's milder than it was. No need to put the heating on just yet.
Good morning, everyone.
