Do you have an adult child who you are more relaxed with?

Yes! When I stay with my eldest son there's lots of joking and laughter. One daughter and son- in- law are a serious academic couple, quite formal and what I call "task orientated" if you know what I mean. I get invited to dinner and after clearing the table there's no lounging around and chatting. They crack on with their work and I beat a hasty retreat and chill out at home!

I have just spent time with my youngest son and his family and had a wonderful time. I felt welcome they made the effort to pick me up take me out and drove me home. Plenty of chat and laughs. My older children I feel I mustn't stay long and conversation can be a bit stilted. Does anyone else feel like this??
