Honestly it's all personal stuff, heaven knows why it's in the news only because the people involved court attention in the first place, no doubt there are publicists behind the scenes micro managing it all. It is possible to be a "personality" and not have one's private life, family dynamics and fall outs in the public domain Exacerbated by these individuals own hands, sending cryptic and at times vitriolic messages to each other via social media and curated for effect to keep the brand ongoing. They could adopt the radical notion of having these disagreements privately hmm Read threads on here and MN to know sadly these situations are not unusual it happens to ordinary mortals too, and others have said, there are two sides to most situations and only the parties involved can know the whys and wherefores.

Adam Peaty was always very close to his gran, I don't know much about him but remember this when he had his incredible olympics.
I hope his Gran's going to his wedding.
Brooklyn is a bit different as his family were uber-famous & as the eldest he must've had problems with celebrity akin to that faced by the Royals, when he was a child.

Am afraid estrangement is heart breaking, I can only hope this isn’t what it is and that a reconciliation isn’t far off.
They are Uber rich families living in a bubble so perhaps their reality is different to ours.
I hope so.

I also cringe every time I see a woman being automatically blamed in these situations. Men are not mindless, feeling-less creatures whose relationships depend entirely on the women around them. It’s 2025; we can let that sexist drivel die now. Not a single one of us knows these people well enough to say the young men aren’t “at fault” here.

BlessedArt Tue 11-Nov-25 18:19:49

It’s quite normal for families to also keep their problems off of social media for all to easily identify the people involved. I don’t think there is any relationship safe from dis-invitation under such circumstances. I’ve no clue and don’t care who started what, but not even a parent should expect to attend a wedding they intentionally brought negative public attention to. Such actions surely cause full estrangements.

The gall it takes to assume you’d be welcome on such an important day is actually breathtaking.

Well, it is quite normal for parents to be at their children's weddings unless there has been an Estrangement which sadly seems to be the case here.
It does happen, often when a new woman enters a young man's life for various reasons.

Jealous bride? Jealous mother?

It's very sad but no, it's not our business.

Oreo Tue 11-Nov-25 18:08:55

We don’t know, as others say, but it’s very sad.

BlessedArt Tue 11-Nov-25 18:05:36

We don’t know these people. We can’t possibly know the private dynamics that lead to family conflict, and every situation is its own.

I will say that I don’t think highly of anyone who goes to tabloids or identity-displaying social media to air their family’s dirty laundry. Adam’s aunt apparently did exactly that and his mother apparently has been posting passive aggressive things on social media, per the Mumsnet crowd. It’s one thing to vent privately or anonymously. It’s another to do so publicly and still expect to attend someone’s wedding after putting family business on display. The gall it takes to assume you’d be welcome on such an important day is actually breathtaking.

No idea what happened and it's their business. My family isn't perfect either.

Kate1949 Tue 11-Nov-25 14:59:53

We only know what we read. We have no idea what has happened or who did what. Whatever happened, it is sad, as it is for any parent going through this, as some on GN are.

The 2 people concerned are Brooklyn Beckham & now Adam peaty. Both totally have no regards for their family.
Brooklyn & Nicola don’t seem to want anything to do with his parents, Adam peaty doesn’t want his mum at his wedding.
Both men appeared to be very close with their mothers before there partners came on the scene. Can’t think for life of me that Victoria & Adam’s mum have done anything wrong except bringing them up & having a good relationship with them
