Good morning from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
A recovery day yesterday after my food poisoning. I’m going to the art group this morning as usual, but may return early if I still feel off colour.
Welcome Tuinoma🌺

Good morning all from a wet Black country.
Yesterday was a nice day and we had a stroll around the German market then did a bit of Christmas shopping.
Today is Dgs1 10th birthday we shall pick the boys up from school and then go to theirs for dinner/tea.
So pleased you found your wallet grandMattie.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️.

Good morning * Tuinoma*.

Tuinoma Fri 14-Nov-25 07:49:20

Whilst i find myself on the 'good morning' chat i feel i ought to say hello from a very wet, dark and rainy North Yorkshire.
I am normally more of a lurker than an active participant..

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 14-Nov-25 07:47:57

Morning all from a damp West Oxfordshire.

OH and I are going to an Arts Society Study Day. We are going in separate cars as straight afterwards I’m driving up to Kew to look after my granddaughter until Monday.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a wet and gloomy S E Essex

The 10yr old has had his cooked breakfast, and will be off to school in a couple of minutes.

I am off to the gym first thing, then a tea and catch up after.

Yesterday my solo shopping trip was very successful, my car was full, bank account was much lighter

Thinking of FGT2 🌸

Redcar Fri 14-Nov-25 07:35:46

Good morning everyone from a wet mid Essex. Yesterday was lovely until evening when it poured with rain. Not windy at the moment. I shan’t bother with a walk today.
I changed my duvet cover yesterday, always a struggle! Washed and dried it and will iron it today.
Lunchtime bingo today then an Ocado delivery late afternoon and that’s my day!

What a scare for you grandmattie, and a relief that you were reunited with your wallet eventually. kalu sorry to hear about your friend.

Thinking of all those who are sad or suffering in any way. I hope that life gets better for you today.

Have as good a day as possible everyone.

Gingster Fri 14-Nov-25 07:32:26

Good morning all and we’re in for a wild day, rain and wind courtesy of Storm Claudia.

Plans today are confused as we’re booked to go and see ‘Six’ the musical. Dd is poorly so wont be coming, dgd1 is travelling from southampton , (🤞trains are running ok, ) and little DGD is feeling off colour.
We’ve booked at the fish and chip restaurant before the show but I might cancel that. Taxi is booked but I’ll have to rearrange pick up time! ‘DS1 is coming in to sit with his dad but now at a different time!
The best-laid plans of mice and men’. 😤.

Roses how frustrating that you can’t find suitable pain relief. 🙏.
Aldom I hope the new mirror is delivered today.
GM thank goodness you found the wallet

Take care all 🍂

Tuinoma Fri 14-Nov-25 07:30:48

Rosesandlilac thank you for that link to the ‘green islands’ leaf bugs. Fascinating stuff, i had seen them on my walks and wondered vaguely but not researched yet...

Grandmabatty Fri 14-Nov-25 07:27:42

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° and dry. A cold start to the day. GrandMattie I'm so glad you found your wallet. Kalu sad news for you.
Yesterday dgs2 got the massive stookie removed and a smaller one put on. The bone is knitting together well and the incision is neat. He trotted into nursery fine in the morning and when mummy took him back after his hospital appointment. Dgs1 didn't have a good day. He was being very silly and misbehaving. It's partly his character - he does things without thinking of the consequences - and partly he's feeling a bit neglected because his little brother is getting all the attention. Hopefully he'll settle. I managed to tidy up the kitchen and hoover throughout. I had a decent sleep last night. Still up at times, but a good stretch in between.
Today I'll do the food shop at Aldi. Then stay home for a delivery. I've ordered dgs2s birthday present, a shop on one side and a theatre on the other. I even got money off! Today will be a quiet day otherwise. Have a good day all.

kittylester Fri 14-Nov-25 07:27:28

Good morning all from a very, very wet North Leicestershire.

We are expecting a Sky Engineer from 8am. The theory is that they are going to upgrade our system which will involve being outside to drill through our 18 inch thick walls. We expect the appointment to be cancelled. This afternoon we have a visit from a dishwasher engineer scheduled.

This morning I have to go to the butcher's and Waitrose.

Yesterday was very enjoyable. We went to the library to hear readings by one of the village writing groups. Then DGS3 came and we had a Turkish takeaway and a lovely catch up. A good day all round.

Have the best day possible everyone.

EkwaNimitee Fri 14-Nov-25 07:19:31

Good morning Mick and everyone from dark and, as yet, dry Carlisle. It won't last.
It rained all yesterday and I settled to a lot of tedious admin. Oh the thought of still being on holiday..no cooking, shopping, cleaning and keeping my life organised! I suppose one would eventually get bored.

Today is another early start to take the car to the garage and hope the right part has arrived this time. I shall take my Kindle on which I have started another book. On return I shall probably finish off the ironing but that will be it in the housekeeping department, I've a mind to spend the afternoon organising my holiday photos, a mere 500 or so of them.

Glad all was well in the end GM, it must have been a heart-stopping moment when you realised it had gone.

Have a good day all of you in spite of all that forecast rain.

GrannyIvy Fri 14-Nov-25 07:06:32

Good morning from a wet Cambridgeshire. I have to drive into Cambridge this morning at 9 am and collect DD2 from the garage as her car is in for repair again this morning. DH will take her back to collect it later whilst I get the little ones from school.

It is the Bowls Club annual dinner and disco tonight. We rarely go out in the evening these days. I will just wear what I did last year and hope no one notices 😂 I don’t know anyone there except DH.

So pleased you found your wallet GM Hope everyone has a good day. Stay safe in this awful wet weather ☔️

NannyJan53 Fri 14-Nov-25 06:44:46

Good morning from a dark and very rainy Black Country.

I have a rotten cold, but have to take the car for it's MOT for 9am! Last thing I need is to go out at the moment.

We are also having a new Freezer delivered this morning, so having to put the food in there into the fridge and cooler bags. The door seal has gone on the current one.

So pleased your wallet was found gM, such a worry when you discover it is missing, then frantic looking etc.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Greyduster Fri 14-Nov-25 06:44:30

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It is raining cats and dogs at the moment in South Yorkshire and is set to worsen as the day progresses. Yesterday after breakfast I ferried GS and all his kit and caboodle back to his house and as the sun was shining, we called in at one of our local parks on the way for a walk. Part of it is wooded and part has beautiful views over moorland on the edge of the Peak District. You feel you could almost reach out and touch it. We both enjoyed it. He’s lovely company.
In the afternoon I chose frames for my new driving glasses which will be ready next week.
School this afternoon if I don't get washed away getting there. A short easy session with Year 4 today.
Have the best day you can, folks.

RosesandLilac Fri 14-Nov-25 06:33:32

Good morning from soggy south Glos where it’s raining steadily, a wet walk for tiddler and I and bigger dog has her dog walker, she doesn’t mind the rain.
Yesterday I actually went to a supermarket for once, I rarely do this as I prefer to do online shopping. It actually felt quite strange! I just had to get out for a couple of hours so a trip into Sainsbury’s.
I did struggle heaving the bags into the house, one reason why I get online shopping, but I have at least two weeks of meals sorted so that’s good.
I slept very badly, wide awake from midnight to 5am so not sure if I will go to art today. My ankles are painful and, because I can’t take ibuprofen or aspirin apparently because of my heart failure and medication, and paracetamol is ineffective I struggle with painkillers. Cocodamol makes me very dizzy and that’s out too!
GP prescribed voltarol gel, that did nothing either!
Anyway, I have plenty of housework etc to keep me occupied today.
I still have roses coming into bloom, nerine lilies and cerinthe in flower as well as a fabulous backdrop of autumn leaves in the woods behind the house.
I was looking out for leaves with ‘green islands’ on my walks, fascinating!
bugtracks.wordpress.com/2014/01/29/green-islands
Once you start looking you will find them everywhere!
Best wishes to all 🌹

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is set to receive a deluge today. Windy too.

A very pleasant day weather-wise yesterday until the evening , sunny and mild before rain arrived. I seemed to spend a good bit of the day fielding phone calls from worried or grieving people, just pleased the day was a quiet one and I could listen without needing to rush them. We’re busier today, need to venture out.

Thank goodness your wallet had been kept safely for you grandmattie. I’d have been in a major panic. Sad news for you kalu.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Aldom Fri 14-Nov-25 06:21:41

Good morning Mick and everyone.
It's raining here in Shropshire.
Yesterday I had a free standing, full length mirror delivered. Unfortunately the mirror was smashed and the frame cracked.
I contacted Dunelm and the broken mirror is being collected and a new one delivered. Fingers crossed for the next delivery.
gMattie so glad you were reunited with your wallet.
Thinking of those reading the Good Morning thread who are sad, worried or in pain.

Kalu Fri 14-Nov-25 06:08:00

Good morning all. Dry and sunny is today’s forecast for Glasgow .

My hairdresser outing in heavy rain yesterday was mad dashes to the salon and back to my car where I realised some twit had parked so close which meant I could barely open the driver’s side door, no option but to enter via the passenger door and climb over the centre panel to reach my seat. 😡 I also had sad news that an old friend had a fatal heart attack on Saturday. Our DDs were close friends at school and the girls were looking forward to meeting up at a school reunion later this month. A special event as all the girls will be 50 this year. Both DD and I will be attending the funeral before that.

An at home day foutering around and hopefully, if it stays dry, spend some time in the garden.

My best wishes to all for a good day……carpe diem.

karmalady Fri 14-Nov-25 05:55:50

Good morning from s somerset, a grim day with a lot of rain

Nothing much to say about making lots of socks for Christmas. Next year I will be starting early to spread the task, and I have already bought the wool. This year it started as stash busting and a determination to get all 9 pairs finished before I start on a top for dil. They are so soft, warm and cosy to put on

My organic order will be here by 7, I have a large chicken in the order this time so I will be cooking that in my pressure cooker this morning and then comes the portioning plus stock for soup. It all takes time

I think a lighted candle is on the cards today, to lift the outside gloom

Have a good day

Bellasnana Fri 14-Nov-25 05:41:13

Good morning from Malta where we are still enjoying lovely weather and expect a sunny day with a high of 23°C.

Got a few jobs done yesterday but then felt so tired I dozed off on the sofa and woke up feeling very dopey. I was supposed to meet my friend but didn’t feel I had the energy so hopefully will see her today.

The tennis was good and there’s more today which I will watch. Also have my weekly hairdo and might pop to Lidl for some bits and pieces.

Glad you were reunited with your wallet, grandMattie. What a relief!

Hope you all have a good day.☀️
