Bowen’s Disease

I am sorry to hear you have a Bowen’s it does come as a shock to be told this. I have unfortunately had this a few times and was prescribed Efudix cream to be applied topically once a day for two hours. A couple of times it left a minuscule scar but the last time on my face this time it’s left a large red blemish that won’t go. When the cream starts to work it can form a light crusty appearance and that’s it healing but it doesn’t always. Perhaps it depends on where on the body it’s being applied. Thinking back over the years I worked for someone that had had skin cancer; my neighbour had it many years ago and I knew someone else from my village that used to get a prescription for a complete Sun block because of skin cancer. And they’d had it for a long long time. So I think it’s correct that you shouldn’t worry too much about it. But, as you say, it is the straw that broke the camels back and I can understand why you’re so upset .

Skin cancers are quite common but I've never heard it called Bowen's disease before.

You are in the care of dermatologists who will see you regularly and you will receive the appropriate treatment.

I am currently being treated for sun damage to my nose, classed as precancerous.
I am using Tolak once a day I know there is another cream prescribed which is twice a day.
I have been using it for 3 weeks now, told to use it for four and then two weeks off before going back to the GP.
Frankly my nose is a mess very red, crusty, peeling and sore , I just hope it improves before Christmas.
