Good morning from a dry W Kent. Off to DD2 for lunch and catch up. We should see DS and DIL as well. Looking forward to having a day out. Yesterday was spent card writing and packing the parcel for DD1
Best wishes

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the rain has stopped and we are promised a few dry days. I slept over eight hours last night and woke up this morning feeling as I’d been dropped from a great height!! Everything hurt. I can’t win.

Yesterday’s podiatry appointment was interesting. Apparently I have flat feet and one leg shorter to the other which is throwing my foot out of alignment and crowding the toes, hence the pain. He will make moulds of my feet and make an orthotic that I can wear in my shoes to realign them. I will have to rob a bank to pay for it! In the afternoon I resurrected my knitting project; only the top of a sleeve and the button band to do so it seems silly not to.

Today I have a food shop to do and then a walk is on the cards.

Roses in the early sixties we were in barracks in Richmond Park and the deer used to take a great interest in what was hanging on our washing lines. They could often be seen trotting off with some item of laundry hanging from their antlers! The big bucks would fight in the mating season and sometimes get their antlers locked together and there was only one sad solution to that.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from a wet Essex coast.
I had a busy day in London yesterday with DD1 and DGD. I left them around 4'sh as I'd had enough of walking, my hips and back were really complaining.
S, who is DD1 's eldest, is back in hospital. She is now being assessed by several specialists to try and get to the bottom of her continual illness.
I hope for some better news today.
DH is at rugby this morning then we are out for a late lunch this afternoon.
Wishing you all a pleasant Sunday xx

Good morning from Shropshire.A dry day forecast.

DGD enjoyed her 10th birthday party yesterday. We had some lovely photos and videos from DD.

Today we will make the most of the twelve hours of free electricity.

Such good news about your goddaughters DH Bellasnana.

Thinking of all struggling and all affected by the terrible flooding.

Wishing everyone the best day possible🌻🦩

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° and dry. The cars are covered in frost. I'm very sorry for all those affected by the awful floods. Bellasnana my two grandsons can have big emotions too! It is very tiring. Ash it sounds like you had a good time in London. Redcar fingers crossed it isn't too muddy later.
Yesterday I went to Tesco and got everything I wanted for presents. I managed all the housework too (except the ironing). I decided to buy myself a Radio Times as a treat and spent some time leafing through it. Last night I got engrossed in a programme about Scottish band Simple Minds.
I had another good night with only a couple of loo visits. It makes such a difference. Today I'm taking the family out for brunch to Linlithgow. My aunt and uncle are picking me up and DD will drop me home. Ds is coming too. I'll give ds his birthday present then. His birthday is on Wednesday, same as dgs2. Dsil is working unfortunately. He has a new job starting in a week. Promotion and more money. We are all delighted for him as he works so hard. Dinner later will be chicken. Have a good day all.

Good morning from S E Essex, it is not raining at the moment!
Yesterday was so dull, it didn’t really get light all day.

Today, we are going to try a local gastro pub for a late Sunday Lunch. I have been a couple of times with friends since it has been taken over by a well known local lady publican. DH hasn’t been init since it was owned by our friends, fingers crossed lunch is good, as I really enjoy a Sunday Roast

Wishing you all,a peaceful Sunday 🙋‍♀️

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s a bit cooler this morning, still grey and wet outside. I hope it will dry up a bit during the morning as we are going to my godmother’s bungalow late morning to scatter her ashes in the orchard part of her garden. Winter coats and wellies will be needed as it will be muddy!
I was shocked to see the floods in Monmouth and hope they will quickly. Thinking of everyone who is affected by the floods.

bellasnana good news about your goddaughter’s DH.

ashcombe an interesting day in London for you and your DH yesterday, glad you enjoyed it.

Thinking of all who are struggling in any way and hope the day brings some improvement.

Have a pleasant Sunday everyone.

Good morning, a dryish start here on the hillside in south Glos. Yesterday was very murky until late morning then we had five minutes of sunshine before drizzle all afternoon.
We drove to the next village for a walk, thick fog and water torrenting down the lanes, it was several inches deep and covering the road surface. I’ve never seen it like that before, all the springs were gushing out of the valley side and woodlands, water coming through hedges too!
A very atmospheric wander around the lanes and footpaths between the houses, we didn’t see a soul.
I did more knitting but no painting, I have everything set up to do some today.
A lamb roast for dinner with all the trimmings I think; I’m looking forward to that 😋
I had a video chat with DS and his family, lovely to catch up with them. Dgs1 had his first cross country race, did very well and enjoyed it. DS said he’s enjoying his new job In Whitehall, he cycles one way and runs the other then vice versa the following day. He’s incredibly fit and loves exercise. His route is through Richmond Park so he has to dodge the deer in the dark coming home 🫣
DDIL is a keen swimmer, does wild swimming too. Dgs2 swims too but only in the pool, he’s very good and competitive.
A very active family!
Best wishes to you all 🌹

Good morning from a calm and dry Torbay.

Our day trip to London went to plan and about a dozen of us enjoyed a convivial lunch in a private room over a pub near Waterloo Station. It’s more than six years since I last visited London and it seemed busier than ever with tourists and shoppers thronging the pavements. I was glad to be viewing them from the confines of a cab as we crawled from Paddington Station, passing Marble Arch, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, the London Eye, Hyde Park, etc en route.

Thinking of those facing difficulties of any kind especially those suffering from flooding. Horrendous.

A blessed Sunday to all. 🦩💐✝️🥰🦩

Good morning. Up early as the two boy(DGSs) slept over last night. They are watching TV whilst I will go to prepare pancakes for breakfast. They will be collected at 9 as the elder one has a rugby match.
I’m hoping to make some fabric gift bags later and then paint some Christmas cards. DH is going to help me mix up the Christmas puddings.
Hope today is a good one for all .

My echo dot kept telling me yesterday i was at high risk of flooding...I'm on a hill top!

cornergran Sun 16-Nov-25 06:35:51

Morning Mick, morning All. From what I can see it’s dry out there and the chilly wind which appeared yesterday evening has settled down. A dry day in the forecast, hope it’s right.

Our shopping trip went well yesterday, I was surprised how quiet it was. Enjoyed wandering round and bought not a thing.

A chatty day today with friends. I’m not sure how much moving we’ll do other than from coffee to lunch.

The images of floods are horrific. One of ours found his road flooded, fortunately it stopped at the bottom of his drive. Our little river has behaved, we’re fortunate an artificial flood plain was created some years ago designed to take any overtopping.

Best wishes to everyone. Have the best day you can.

Good morning from Malta where another sunny day is forecast with a high of 25°C.

Spent the day with the boys and DD3 yesterday. We took them to the big park which was very busy but they took their little balance bikes and whizzed around on them.

They both had episodes of ‘strong feelings’ which I’d had enough of by the time they dropped me off at home in perfect time to watch the tennis!

Today I’m going to Mass, then will have the usual FaceTime chat with my friend in Leicester.

At 6pm it’s the final between Alcaraz and Sinner. I am a fan of them both but want Alcaraz to win. It will be an exciting match as they are both so good.

All being well, my Goddaughter’s husband will be allowed home this evening. He’s in a lot of pain but the head injury doesn’t require surgery which is a relief. Thanks for all your kind comments.

Poor DD3 has messaged to say she has been up all night with D&V. I think she was hinting for me to go and help out but I have a phobia of being sick and do not want to catch it. She’s got a husband to help her!

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Good morning from s somerset, colder today

I have been getting a running commentary on Monmouth and surroundings from dd, she is a few miles out in the countryside and up high above the usk river. Her dh was out yesterday and took small lanes back home, it took a long time but he knows the topography and is an advanced driver, only one route to home was accessible, the lanes are narrow and hardly used

It makes normality seem trivial, I cannot stop thinking about the devastation to hundreds of families and businesses and almost all the shops

I have no plans for today

Have a good day

Tuinoma Sun 16-Nov-25 05:53:34

Good morning from a damp but dry North Yorkshire. No end of trouble with interconnection all day yesterday and one session of it under my belt this morning, gggrrrr.
I might go to our little local church and do my dog walk around the graveyard there. Nothing macabre or sad, purely because it's in such a lovely position on the top of a hill with great views over the North York Moors and the Dales. Then I'll do a walk around the country lanes. Normally i walk the fields or in the woods but after getting sucked in up to my ankles yesterday I'll give that a miss..
Have a good sunday.

Good morning from Bristol. It’s dry atm. Thankfully we’re not in the position of poor Monmouth!
I had a fairly quiet day yesterday, culminating in a quiz at the nearby URC for the Bristol dementia charity. I only knew one lady fromWI, then a “strange” couple joined us to make up numbers. We did ok, coming in the middle, only 4 points short of the winners.
I did win two raffle prizes from one strip, unimaginatively identical spa packs. I’ll split one for stockings and put the other into the WI raffle next month.
Just church today. I have to prepare for four important meetings next week, two of which are the management.
I also need to make some more cranberry marmalade, and get tree decorations prepared for the FAB cafe attendees to cut out, ready for the Christmas tree in church.
Prayers for the mountaineers today. 💐 to all.
🐠 Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦤🦩
