Good morning to all the night owls
I m late waking this morning and seem to have missed my
3 am slot however 4.30 am will do ( 4 and a half hours is positively a very long sleep for me) who knows I might even drop of again for a doze before I get up at 6 ready for some work
So who s around ?

Nannytopsy Sun 14-Dec-25 06:06:57

6 hours! I’m so pleased and I am going to snuggle down for a bit longer. That the power of good painkillers!

JamesandJon33 Sun 14-Dec-25 06:03:32

Bore da. Just woken up. I really would like to discover why some nights it’s 3 or 4 o ‘clock and others you sleep straight through. I can’t find any common denominator….a true mystery .

Shirleyw Sun 14-Dec-25 05:41:13

Morning. 5am awake, I’m amazed…..like I over slept 😂😂😂
Have a good day all….

Grammaretto Sun 14-Dec-25 05:17:12

I thought it was 3am so rather chuffed to find it was 5am! I slept from 11 to 12 was awake until 2am so at least a few hours.
Hallo all you wideawakes.
I may join you for a cuppa.

BlueBelle Sun 14-Dec-25 04:51:23

Morning all
I ve done rather well midnight till 4.30 and because the TV was so dire (well for me anyway) I nodded by the fire on and off through most of the evening
Nothing at all on to day so not sure what I ll do (depends on the weather anyway ) you all have such eventful lives with people visiting
Doesn’t feel too cold so.i m sure I ll find something

Wyllow3 Sun 14-Dec-25 04:08:54

Morning early risers: I'll get a cuppa too.

Grandmabatty Sun 14-Dec-25 03:48:56

I slept well earlier but wide awake now. I think I'll get up for a cuppa

TerriBull Sun 14-Dec-25 03:47:48

Awake again, 3.44! I think I have slept for a few hours. I'll put the ear buds in and hope they'll send me off, they do sometimes, the way I judge that I've often no idea what I've beeen listening to.

fancyflowers Sun 14-Dec-25 02:50:17

It's 10 to 3 now and I haven't slept yet. Fed up of this.
I have CKD and one of the symptoms is insomnia. It's kicking in tonight.
Is anyone else suffering from CKD and does it affect your sleep?

Mollygo Sun 14-Dec-25 01:16:33

Still waiting for sleep here. It’s been a very busy day so I ought to be tired.

cornergran Sun 14-Dec-25 01:07:50

Sleep is elusive here too roses. It’s been a decent enough day, no new worries, just not sleeping. Part of the family will be here for a buffet lunch, I’m really looking forward to it, maybe it’s the excitement keeping me awake. Life is so busy for them it’s a rare treat. I’ll get back to my book. Relax as much as I can and maybe sleep will appear.

RosesandLilac Sun 14-Dec-25 00:52:45

Ho hum……sleep is evasive tonight. I’ve only had two hours sleep and my painful ankles and feet have woken me up again despite taking painkillers.
I did spend yesterday doing a zoom art class, loved it 😊 and rearranged my art materials so hopefully I know where everything is now.
There’s a large pile of ironing and plenty of housework to occupy me today 🙁 and I’ve forgotten to take something out of the freezer for dinner.

Aveline Sat 13-Dec-25 07:50:08

I had a good night too. Praise be! Fairly busy today but not too bad. Big tidy this pm as neighbours coming round for drinks this evening.

cornergran Sat 13-Dec-25 06:51:46

A good night for me, woke at 3, drifted off about 4 and have just woken again. I’m pleased as I need my head today grin.

Wyllow3 Sat 13-Dec-25 06:16:25

Morning, night dwellers, an unusually longer sleep, 6 hours.

Erica23 Sat 13-Dec-25 05:31:51

Morning been awake since 3.30 at least I’ve had six hours as I couldn’t keep my eyes open past 9 last night.
Have to babysit my DGC at 8 this morning and I think it’s been playing on my mind. Out for my usual Saturday walk with friends this aft we might actually get to walk if it’s dry instead of the garden centres we’ve been going to because of the rain.

BlueBelle Sat 13-Dec-25 05:09:06

Morning all, well that was very strange I woke to go to the loo as I thought at 5 am (slept from midnight) .,.. but as I ve just woken to go to the loo and its 5 am I have no idea what time I went before. Never mind I’ve had about 5 hours in some form or other so that’s norm for me I’m very cosy in my sleeping bag and duvet and hottie bottles so who knows I might
drift off again Nothing much to do today Had lunch with a friend of 40 years yesterday, she’s younger than me but much worse healthwise so I look after her when we are out
I have my radio on in the night but I like listening to talk programmes so often )world radio’ I drift off listening to them chattering

JamesandJon33 Sat 13-Dec-25 04:33:40

Good morning everyone. This seems to be my new waking time… around 4:30. Which I accept as better than 3 o ‘clock. It seems quite cold and the sky is clear and strewn with stars. I think I ‘ll read my kindle for a while. DH is in the other bedroom as he was snoring, and I quite like a bit of time to myself…it is rare these days

RosesandLilac Sat 13-Dec-25 04:28:02

‘Morning! 🙄
I have had 5 hours sleep so 🤷🏼‍♀️. I’ve made a hot drink and I will have a biscuit before taking some painkillers, my ankles and toes are painful so I suspect that’s what woke me up.
I have an online zoom art class all day, I got everything ready last night so I’m looking forward to that.
I’ll read my book for a bit and see if I can drop off to sleep for a while.

grandMattie Sat 13-Dec-25 04:25:10

I’ve been awake for an hour, tried to go back to sleep…
At least, unlike utbb, I have about 5 hours, which isn’t enough considering my usual busyness.
I just wake up, no pain, no worries, no problems. It is infuriating.
I hope you all have a good day/weekend at this busy time of year.

Nannytopsy Sat 13-Dec-25 04:13:36

Good morning! Had 4 hours sleep but my hip has woken me up. It’s so frustrating because yesterday was really busy and today will be too. 10 for lunch is not what I need!

Usedtobeblonde Sat 13-Dec-25 03:01:51

I’ve been awake since midnight.
I went out for a meal with a friend and was tired when I got in so was in bed about 9:30, straight to sleep for my usual two hours.
Really wide awake now , I just wish I could break this pattern of two hours then waking up, it is so unsettling.

TerriBull Sat 13-Dec-25 02:33:55

It's only 2.30 am and I'm wide awake, so annoying! Will have to try and find something to listen to.

Erica23 Fri 12-Dec-25 08:44:48

Morning. We’ve had a terrible night. I woke at midnight DH hadn’t been asleep at this point. We didn’t get back to sleep until about 4am, then slept until 7.30.
We’ve lots to do today too, we’re having visitors this morning, shopping to do and DGC to pick up from school. I’m going to buy some magnesium glycinate if I can find some.

NanKate Fri 12-Dec-25 08:22:15

Reasonable night 3 loo trips but then back to sleep a miracle 👍
