Good morning to all the night owls
I m late waking this morning and seem to have missed my
3 am slot however 4.30 am will do ( 4 and a half hours is positively a very long sleep for me) who knows I might even drop of again for a doze before I get up at 6 ready for some work
So who s around ?
……meant to say , your ‘3 am thread’ bluebelle proves very popular 😀
Just made a ☕️, earlier this morning, daft as I’m not particularly worried about anything. Shall hope to drop off after a scroll around . Going to see granddaughters Christmas concert later so need to be fresh for that ❤️
‘Evening all or should it be ‘Morning all?
I have no flipping idea why I’m awake, I’ve had two hours sleep and been awake for two hours 🤬
I can’t listen to the radio during the night because either I’d have to have my hearing aids in or have it far too loud….
I’ve had a hot drink, tried counting sheep and variations there of, reading my book, scrolling aimlessly on here and I don’t feel in the slightest bit sleepy. I can’t go downstairs because I will disturb the dogs who will think it’s their breakfast time and let’s go for a walk.
Ho hum……..
20 past 12 and I ve woken with excruciating cramp down the outside of my left leg I ve ‘been out for a walk’ and going to try to get off again, so far only had an hours sleep. so that’s disappointing
Hope everyone is doing better than me
I slept for nearly 8 hours! Woohoo!
After my THR I often listen to the Sleeping Forecast on BBC sounds. I like the shipping forecast one. They don’t have any chat or adverts.
It carried on being nightmares and then one is just glad to get up! thank you for nice words all.
yes another tinnitus person here, my usual go to is wave sounds which I have on every night.
Just wanted to tell grandMattie and anyone else who likes classics about Radio 3 unwind, as it runs through the night in a soothing manner. It varies according to the presenter, some bits I don't like, but I have taken to it as a calming background/tinnitus blocker in the day too.
Woke up at 4am didn't get back to sleep, just dozed I have a bit of an achy neck this morning, it'll wear off I've resolved to make some soup, then we're out shopping , for food, but also to pick up a couple of items. Hope it's not too busy o/h went in yesterday when I was at my book group and couldn't get parked. "Oh well if you head for John Lewis" to be expected thought I
Amazingly, I had my highest scoring (thanks Fitbit) night's sleep this year. Awake once for about an hour then blissfully off again till 7. 7! I can hardly believe it.
Busy day yesterday had a shop and experienced incredible rudeness again from a shop assistant in Iceland .
But she didn't expect a retaliation from me .
People ,who know me as very polite and mild mannered were taken aback.
Otherwise I had a nice time socialising .
Fell asleep in the early evening and wide awake since five .
My bladder woke me up as usual.
There's still some discomfort from an infection .
Enjoyed the Beverly Hillbillies and now a concert from.an incredibly youthful Anne -Sophie Mutter celebrating her sixtieth birthday .
I sympathesise with Wyllow .
Nightmares are horrendous .
I usually wake up with a tight chest and a feeling of panic overwhelming me .
Tinnitus here too, doesn’t usually bother me at night though, I wear hearing aids and that helps during the day. I woke at 1am in a funny position unusual for me then realised DH was awake too.
We had a chat and decided we’d have a night time gummie, what an exciting life we have 🙄 back to sleep in 30 mins until 5.45 not too bad.
Still persevering with no iPad and did have fewer waking periods last night, still shattered though, but then I’m used to that. Usually ok once I’m up and into the day. Another here with tinnitus. I wonder if there is any link between it and unhelpful sleep patterns. Might do a bit of googling - if I remember 😳.
I ve light tinnitus but it’s definitely there and worse at night I do have my radio on most of the night just low ….when I used to have bad floaters in my eye I turned them into a modern art exhibition and used to imagine them as other things I don’t have them any more since I had the cateract op.
I m going through a good period at the moment I went to sleep quite early last night about 11 and had about 5.5 hours which is really good for me Mind you I did do a 8 hour work stint yesterday might have made a difference.
Sorry about the nightmare wyllowthey are so real aren’t they horrible
Well I hope we all have a productive day
Not a good night, woke three times but managed to doze off after about a half hour. I’m probably worrying about the talk I must give this evening.
Tinnitus really is a nuisance I agree. Not really found anything that helps at night. The good news for me was driving 170 miles, mostly motorway, yesterday meant I slept till just now. I’m not in a hurry to use that method again any time soon though.
“My” tinnitus is constant and fairly loud, but can get really bothersome at night.
I think I’ve had it since childhood, so I’m used to it. But it can be very intrusive and if something is at the same pitch, painful.
It’s unpleasant, isn’t it?
Hi grandMattie and UTBB, I’ve been awake for an hour or so too, I’ve tried getting back to sleep but nothing’s working so I’ve made a coffee and here I am.
I did get Wordle in two so that’s a good start to the day!
I too have tinnitus, it’s infuriating at times but I can usually ignore it.
I’ve been awake for over an hour.
Im annoyed that I didn’t get many 💤 as I had an extremely busy day and no time for a nap.
I have tinnitus and find having Classicfm on, very very softly, helpful, so I lie there and listen to the music. Mercifully the inane chat and advertisements between the pieces is limited.
I woke up about 15 minutes ago for the second time.
The first was about 11:30 but I managed to go back to sleep.
I have been to the loo and am not very sleepy this time.
I have a slight sore throat and a tickle in my nose, maybe starting a cold.
It feels chillier than the last couple of nights.
A friend visiting for coffee tomorrow so will have to be up reasonably on time to tidy round, it doesn’t get done routinely now!!
Nightmares are awful Wyllow. I've been awake for an hour or so. I've had painkillers so I'm hoping to sleep in a bit. I might get up for a cuppa too.
Its. a horrid night tonight, I have had a calm day but woken after just 1.5 hours with dreadful nightmares, Its a mystery so am staying up with hot milk until it wears off. Bring back the long days and the early light.
BlueBell I feel a bit discombobulated to be truthful. I mean why, a sleep like that. I did nothing different yesterday, ate nothing different. It’s a complete mystery.
I was awake at 3 again and lay for 2 hours again. Och!
I’m holding to my resolve of no iPad in the night. Still awake more than I’m asleep. Feel very tired and ‘heady’ this morning, it will work off as I move around.
Wow that’s a sleep I ve probably never ever had even as a kid do you feel better for it ?
Just woken up. Unbelievable…nearly 9 hours straight.
