Tried a different tactic last night. Each time I woke, probably 4 times, I waited it out trying to stay relaxed. Have I had more sleep? Probably not. Was it a more relaxed night? Maybe, but goodness it was boring. Am I less tired this morning? Definitely not!
I’ve not worried about lack of sleep for many years, just accepting it’s how it is. My internal message is I’m comfortable, not too warm, not too cold, I’m relaxed and it doesn't matter if I’m not asleep.
It was more frustrating when I worked because I needed to have a clear head although I found I could always function well enough. Now I adjust the days accordingly. If I’m really tired I leave what I call anything needing a brain to another day. I don’t nap in the day, somehow can’t although I do try to learn from Mr C who could win gold medals for daytime napping and invariably sleeps soundly at night.
