OMG! It's snowing [shock]

Solid ice on the path and driveway earlier. I will go for my walk this afternoon when the temperature soars to 3°.

Light covering of snow here - dog was delighted and promptly did zoomies around the garden!

I love that word - ‘zoomies’! It perfectly describes the way a dog goes mad in the garden!

The huge snowflakes disappeared pretty quickly yesterday, absolutely no evidence there'd be a snowfall on our way up to Surrey yesterday, well it was more sleet really. Boy was it cold though! winter coat and scarf but I could have done with gloves as well.

Today looking out the window it's bright blue skies, looks very chilly though, hoping nothing comes down from the skies I'm off to the hairdresser later. I don't enjoy snow, it seems everything grinds to a halt when it really gets going.

Yes there’s been plenty up there this year, apparently. Also Mt Buller . Not being a skier,though, I wouldn’t go there normally. Sometimes ( rarely) we get it on Mt Dandenong but I haven’t seen any recently. Never get it here though a couple of days a year we might get a light dusting of frost early in the morning.

Our three youngest (now in their 30’s and 40’s) loved Puffing Billy.

It was always our first trip out when arriving in Melbourne, our poor Aussie contingent must be fed up with it.

The new train looks rather scary with your legs outside the carriage 🙀

i am peeved. When we lived in Berkshire/Oxfordshire, DD, living in Herts, would ring us up to tell us about the snow that was lying in her garden, while all around us was lush and green.

Now all of us have moved to live even further east than Herts, I am reading all about the snow in Berkshire/oxfordshire, while everywhere round here is lush and green.

The stray cat we feed, arrived for breakfast, cowering under the eaves of our barn to avoid the snow- meowing loudly- she looked most unhappy.

It was snowing heavily when I woke up but turned to sleet around 10? it’s mostly gone now.

East coast No snow at all rain and wind and blooming cold but nothing resembling snow

I am officially in the South of the country. It was raining when I came downstairs at about 8a.m. but about 9a.m. I glanced out of the window and was shocked to see a blizzard, great chunks of fluffy snow, almost blocking out the view of the local 6th Form College from my living room window. It went on for about twenty minutes then suddenly stopped, but not before my patch of grass had turned white. Totally unexpected and un-forecasted.

Lovely evening here in Bridgend, South Wales. Just back from a meal out with the neighbours, celebrating M’s 86th birthday. I wish I could look her at 86 😫

It was bright, dry and windy here in Somerset, with a cold breeze. There was a man working on scaffolding nearby. Hope he had his vest well tucked in.

It's beautifully clear and sunny now. Still a smattering on the moors, i can just about see it from here

It was sleeting and bitterly cold on the early dog walk, DH moaned for the entire hour despite it being obvious it was very cold outside before we left!

Ashcombe In the winter of 81/82 we lived in rural north Wales.
For us the first snow fall was on 12th November. The snow was so deep that cars were buried and it was possible to walk on top of the hedgerows because they were under snow. We were never without snow that winter, the last snowfall being 25th April!

Woke to snow in Durham, as did the DDs just outside Newcastle. Just as well we’re hard up North.

An inch or two of snow here in the North Pennines last night but it's melting in today's glorious sunshine. Very pretty. Hope it goes soon! A bit less traffic than usual but the postie got here so the roads can't be too bad.

As I was driving this morning, it was visible lying on the moors just west of the city here in South Yorkshire. It looked glorious. When I got to the gym it was snowing on the car park! Not so glorious. Clear now and no more forecast but who knows. This time last year we were up to our knees in it.
