Just looked out the window, it's only 19th November! It's that watery type of snow, I hope it wont settle. Please go away, you're not welcome, come back in January at least proper depths of winter, not the tail end of Autumn, in fact better still don't come back at all. We're meeting friends for lunch today, first world problem I'm hoping my hair wont get wet
I'm in the south east, what's it like in your neck of the woods?
My DS has just had his 44th birthday, RoseandherMaw and I remember the snow falling while I was in hospital in Staffordshire in 1981, post Caesarean section. It took a few weeks for it to clear, I seem to remember.
Now I live in Torbay where we have bright sunshine but a biting North wind so the temperature feels like 0 degrees, apparently.
Today is D3's 44 th birthday and like many of us I woke up to sleet this morning. 44 years ago my MIL came up to us in London from Sussex to look after the other 2 little girls. After a few days, real snow set in and she hastened home in case she got stuck! At the risk of tempting fate , I think we "ain't seen nothing yet"☃️☃️☃️
It’s really not unusual to get snow in November, particularly further North, but I agree, it doesn’t need to stay 😁. It’s been more sleety here than actual snow, but I believe parts of The North York Moors have had some. We are a bit lower down, so tend to be protected from the worst of it. It’s very breezy though, and the sky keeps looking a bit ominous.
I'm supposed to be going to a Christmas Fair in a remote area at the weekend. I hope it's not cancelled, or that the conditions are too dangerous to travel, as I've been looking forward to it.
Here in the Highlands (north of Inverness) we have had about 5" and still snowing. I have had to knock the snow off some of the shrubs before the weight breaks branches. But the dogs love it.
We had about an hour of snow here in Berkshire between 8.45 and 9.45 but it didn’t settle because the ground was too wet. Our newly adopted cat was out in it and still has not come back. We are hoping he is OK.
Also near the South Downs between those and the Surrey Hills in fact driving up past Surrey's very own mountain, Box Hill soon to meet friends, wondering if that will be snow capped Probably not! Too sleet like. I live in hopes this is a brief interlude and warmer weather is on its way. Double figures please!
The snow had settled when I got up this morning. It's very icy still here so won't go out till it's melted. Can't risk a fall with my arthritic hip. I'm in North Wales.
Very cold here in central Scotland but no actual snow where I am, although the hills have a goodly covering. I did have lots of ice on the frost cover on the car though. It is unusual to get snow before Christmas and, if so, it is either just a covering or a ginirmous flump. Snow is more common in January. I dislike it regardless.
