Just looked out the window, it's only 19th November! It's that watery type of snow, I hope it wont settle. Please go away, you're not welcome, come back in January at least proper depths of winter, not the tail end of Autumn, in fact better still don't come back at all. We're meeting friends for lunch today, first world problem I'm hoping my hair wont get wet grin

I'm in the south east, what's it like in your neck of the woods?

I’m in East Kent. This morning, I shopped at around 9am and it was beautifully warm and sunny - I had to undo my coat.
In contrast, when I saw my granddaughter to her car at around 6pm, after she visited, it was absolutely freezing!
I hate, loathe and detest Winter!

Usually 2nd week in January in Cambs. We got a small flurry in Huntingdon on the "is that snow?" type before it disappeared. We have had far more rain than usual, but perhaps I should touch wood before saying our normal flood has not appeared.

Actually, most years we have one vey cold week around the end of November/beginning of January.

I first noticed it when we moved house in early December and the week running up to the move was freezing and the house had been emptyfor a few months and we could not turn the CH boiler on. I then noticed similar weather a year later as we celebrated our first year in the house.

Some years later, we again moved house in early December and again the weather was freezing. Thankfully the minimal central heating in our new home was working.

This is nothing compared with 1947 and 1963.

I know exactly what you mean! November really is a bit early for that slushy, half-hearted snow. It never looks pretty, it just makes everything damp, cold, and inconvenient. Fingers crossed it doesn’t settle — the last thing anyone needs is winter showing up before we’ve even finished autumn!

Hope the weather behaves for your lunch outing too. That wet, misty snow is a guaranteed hair-ruiner — truly a first-world struggle, but a real one nonetheless! 😄

I’m not far from you, also in the southeast, and it’s pretty similar here: grey skies, that watery snow trying (and failing) to be impressive, and a chill that gets into your bones. Definitely not the magical winter wonderland people imagine. More like… ‘go protonreader.com, snow, you’re drunk.’

In Scotland...freezing cold & snow. Early even for us!

Snow yesterday and today here in York - looked like a blizzard at one point. Settled then melted quickly. Sun and very cold tomorrow so it might be slippy.

Sutherland Scottish Highlands. 4-5" snow, been snowing on and off all day, started to thaw slightly but by mid afternoon, blooming perishing -3! In for at least 7-8 during the night.

Central Angus ,where I am , has had some wet snow flakes today but nothing lying and it’s turned to rain.

Very cold though but we’re not far from the Angus hills which are on the edge of the Grampian hills and I can see the snow on the Angus hills.

The last 3 mornings I’ve had to defrost the bird bath. Very definitely got the heating on and my woolly jumpers. Hate hate hate being cold

I think we must be in a corridor which missed the snow!

It has been sunny here all day; I had to go to the hospital this afternoon and the sun was really bright and low in the sky on the way. Thank goodness DH was driving. The traffic was terrible as well.

Merseyside here, no snow no rain just thick cloud and a very cold brisk wind.

Grannymyers1954 Thu 20-Nov-25 15:53:45

Here on the Yorkshire coast woke up to snow and it snowed on and off until 3pm. Extremely cold. Normally it warms up when it snows. Yorkshire Wolds also affected.

Jaycee19 Thu 20-Nov-25 14:51:57

3 degrees grey skies and dry in East Essex.

Spec1alk Thu 20-Nov-25 14:48:30

Cold and sunny in North Wales.

Cazza1953 Thu 20-Nov-25 14:45:24

Snow here in North East England

Jojo1950 Thu 20-Nov-25 14:42:35

I’m in the north west. Cold dry and sunny.
No heating on just warm jumper. Yesterday was a teeshirt until the evening. I get very hot since having cancer.

Cumbria, snow on the hills and bitter cold. 3rd frost of the year. I like snow but I'm retired so not so good for people still working.

sazz1 Thu 20-Nov-25 14:24:16

No snow at all in South Devon sadly as I love it. Very cold and windy today

Jaxjacky Thu 20-Nov-25 14:23:27

Pretty grannybuy

Cumbrian123 Thu 20-Nov-25 14:16:52

Top of the North Pennines. Loads of snow probably 5-6 inches
-6 overnight, not melting at all.

AuntieE Thu 20-Nov-25 14:11:46

Snow forecast here in the south of Denmark, but so far we have only had minus 3 overnight and frost most of today.

It is early for snow here too, as the earliest snow usually falls on my birthday at the earliest, and that is not until next Wednesday.

I love snow, and anything is better than rain.

grannybuy Thu 20-Nov-25 13:51:51

Snow in NE Scotland.

David49 Thu 20-Nov-25 12:35:57

We had a few flakes in the midlands yesterday. We’re doomed all doomed.

ViceVersa Thu 20-Nov-25 12:02:55

Very cold here first thing this morning - the light covering of snow is lingering a bit here and there, but we've just been out to do some shopping and looking across to the Pentlands and various hills beyond, and they've all got a decent covering of snow and looking very picturesque in the morning sun.

Moonwatcher1904 Thu 20-Nov-25 11:59:02

We're on the west coast of Lancashire. It's blue sky and sunny but it's only 5 degrees out there. I can see snow on the hills of the Lake District but nothing here. We don't seem to get much of it these days but when we do we know it's bad elsewhere.
