DH is out, I have just eaten (Coq au vin from freezer, with mash and veggies, I always have homemade ready meals in the freezer on a can’t be bothered to cook from scratch occasion)
Looking forward to the Traitors and a glass of wine.

Soops warm and welcoming kitchen for kindly folk 🎄
(1001 Posts)Thank you as always to our treasured benefactor soop.
Hot chocolate and warm muffins await, cushions plumped and fire stoked.
Sorry you've had another set back, Jaxjacky, hope you get back home soon & on the path to recovery.
Utbb, thinking of you as you carry on coping with all that life throws.
I hope your DH is able to keep more comfortable, SueDonim.
Also thinking of others with illness & worries, including our dear Mr&Mrs.soop & the FGT's.
Thanks for the much needed group hug Nannytopsy, always welcome.
Oh Jaxjacky, I can’t even begin to think what that must be like - how awful! Do they have to do a procedure to put it back in place? You must be feeling very miserable.
Dh’s pain eased off overnight and I spoke to a dr today about his meds. They’ve been increased so that hopefully it’ll be under control in future. Thank you so much for all your kind posts. 😘
Jaxjacky very sorry to hear about your hip
Thinking of soop
llfl it is sad we had a similar time at the end of last year
Grandmabatty, I agree with brook, lazy is not the word for you! I'm in awe of what you achieve in a day! Enjoy your hard earned rest. 🥰
Oh Jax how awful for you, will you please give your hip a stern talking to and tell it to behave from now on - and stay in place. I hope you’ve got sufficient pain relief and you’re comfortable enough. Hope you’re home tomorrow - I’ll keep everything crossed on your behalf
Well done with your classes, grannmarie and hope you’re feeling the benefit, enjoy your massage tomorrow
You’re always so busy looking after your energetic DGSs grandmabatty with early starts too, so it’s no wonder you feel like a rest afterwards, especially as you’re looking after them on your own. I’d be the same so enjoy your rest and relax whilst you can ❤️
That's rotten for you Jaxjacky. You have my sympathy and a big hug. Suedonim I hope your husband is getting treatment which will help. Grannmarie and brook I'm envious of your energy and fitness.
Today I was lazy. I intended to go to the school library but changed my mind and laced about. I did go to the pharmacy in the afternoon and picked up my prescription and I've footered about and emptied the dishwasher and dried all dds stuff but that's all. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get moving
Jaxjacky so sorry to hear your latest.
Will they have to operate again?
You have been so unlucky,.
SueD also sad for your update, I hope your DH gets some pain relief soon and starts to feel better. The kitchen is a sad place once more.
I have been to see my friend this afternoon and it wasn’t a happy visit but it all fades into trivia when I read the news on here and get back to my own reality.
Aww, Jaxjacky, crossed posts, so sorry to hear about your hip. I hope you are comfortable in hospital, but you'll be desperate to get home tomorrow. Thinking of you. 💐
Oh that really is a pain in the proverbial Jaxjacky sending (((hugs)))
Poor Soop, she is having having a hard time of it. I hope her GP can help. Mine prescribed a Codeine linctus cough bottle which helped to damp down my lingering post Covid cough.
Thanks again Baggs for faithfully keeping us in the loop. I hope your ceiling work goes well.
What sad news, Ladyleftfieldlover, sincere condolences on the loss of your dear friends. 💐🙏
UsedToBeBlonde, I'm sorry to hear about your family worries. It must be heartbreaking to see your son so upset. I'm sorry life is so hard for your autistic DGS.
I hope you can retire to your cosy snug and read or watch something light and entertaining to distract your mind from worrying. 💐
SueD, I hope your DH can find some relief, sorry to hear of his pain. Look after yourself too.
It's great to hear about your wee boys singing their Scottish songs for Burns' night, Grandmabatty, brings back memories.
Sounds like a fun morning at the gym, brook, especially the line dancing!
I made it to Aquafit, thanks, DSis1 and I enjoyed it. I'm amazed at how easily I can move in the water, wish my knees and shoulders worked as well on dry land! Tomorrow I'm going to my Strength and balance class. It's an NHS class, places by referral. My physio referred me for 20 sessions, much appreciated. Later tomorrow I will have my massage appointment at our GP practice. We're fortunate to have this service available.
This morning I took my friend to Mass and Coffee Morning, I'm managing her wheelchair in and out of the car, so my arm/ shoulder is working well just now.🤞
This afternoon, I've read/ dozed on the sofa, must give myself a shake and do something!
Thank you for the group hug, Nannytopsy, just what I needed.
TOYA, especially those with illness, worries or sorrow. FGTs, ❤️🙏.
Wishing everyone a peaceful Wednesday evening and a good night's sleep.
I’m ok thanks all, just down as my hip dislocated again on Monday, I’m back in hospital until tomorrow and finding it very hard to cope with.
But, others have their challenges too - soop Baggs SueD and utbb others too, that old mantra ‘these things will pass’ is much in use.
Sorry to hear your DH isn’t doing too well SueD, I hope you got through to the surgery and some help is to be arranged
I’m back home from a couple of classes at the gym, both enjoyable and good fun. It’s been dry and sunny here today so I hung some bedding out this morning to get a bit fresher rather than completely drying inside. I’ll have to go and get it in soon
Salmon and roasted veg for dinner later, one of our standby favourites
I hope Jax is doing ok, I don’t think I’ve seen her posting these last couple of days
Lots of sadness and worries in the kitchen just now, take care all x
Crumbs, baggs, I've only just seen this. Thank you for the 'soop* update and i'm sorry to hear of your ceiling woes. I hope it gets sorted soon.
Love to all in the kitchen.
Thank you baggs. With luck today will be a better ceiling day.
I hope soop was able to sleep and will have some respite from her cough soon. So exhausting.
A sad time ladylfl.
Life isn’t getting easier utbb, these things are so painful. Wishing you a better day and your husband a more comfortable day sued. Good luck with the surgery call.
Goodness, so many struggling at the moment. A group hug is a very good idea nannyt
Take care everyone.
Like LLFL I am thinking of everyone in the kitchen tonight and sending a group hug. X
I’m thinking of you all in the kitchen tonight. 🌹
Sleep 💤 tight.
That’s so difficult for you, UTTB. It’s time someone cared for you, not you, them.
How awful, LLFL. It shakes you to the core to receive a slew of sad news in that way.
I hope Soop’s Dr can ease her condition tomorrow - thank you for relaying the news, Baggs.
My Dh isn’t doing too well at the moment, he’s in a lot of pain. He’s not a complainer so I know it must be bad. I’ll be on the phone first thing tomorrow to the surgery.
A peaceful night to you all. Xx
Thank you all for your kind words
As we all know here in the kitchen, it does help so much to know that people care enough to post kind messages.
I also hope tomorrow finds soop feeling better
These coughs and chest infections are lingering and painful and I suppose soop’s immune system is very low.
Best wishes for house things. Baggs and all others who are down at this time of year.
Can spring be here soon?
Hi kitcheners
I’ve just been catching up on kitchen news. Sorry there is such sadness in the kitchen.
I took DDog to the vets today as his claw broke at the weekend, but all was deemed to be okay. Looking forward to meeting up with friends tomorrow for a coffee and chat. Then we have a post Christmas family meet up organised for Sunday which I am looking forward to.
Sorry to hear of SOOPs painful chest. I really hope that the doctor can ease it.
Thinking of the FGT2 s , and everyone who is suffering.
Take it easy, everyone.
utbb a disappointing time for you, I feel for you.
llfl what a sad start to the New Year.
Thank you for the update baggs, I hope the ceiling man negotiates your access lane tomorrow and at least starts work on your ceiling. I hope that soops doctor can come up with some suitable painkillers to ease her pain, or even something to help the cough.
I did very little today - again, but had a long phone call with a friend. We hadn’t spoken since before Christmas and she had been very poorly with the cough/chest infection. She’s recovering now and we’ll meet in February for a good catchup.
Night night everyone.
So sorry to hear soop is so poorly. I hope the GP can give her something to ease the pain.
Hope your ceiling gets sorted out soon Baggs.
Thank you for the update Baggs, hoping the GP can give soop something to ease her pain
Also hoping your ceiling man works his magic and things are sorted soon
Thank you Baggs, you have a lot to cope with too.
I do hope our dear soop's GP can make her more comfortable. Of course we all send caring thoughts & love. x
Also, my warmest thoughts for all kitcheners with worries & troubles, there are many..... x
A hug for utbb and condolences for llfl.
News from soop today is that her chesty cough is causing her a lot of pain. Her GP is to visit tomorrow. I hope he will be able to give her some relief. She sends love to you all as always and I always tell her of your kind thoughts of her.
Ceiling man was to come today but had long wheel base van issues and since he has been here before he knows about our steep and u-turny lane so will use a different van and come tomorrow. This actually suits me better as I will be at out at work. MrB who works from home is far better than I at zoning out noise. Is zoning out the right term? Wotevs!
