So pleased for you dragonfly that you have better news.
Your H may recover better away from a hospital setting.
I am starting a cold, sore throat, tickley nose and sneezing.
I don’t get many colds but guaranteed to get one now as I am out for lunch on Thursday and out for meals Friday and Saturday.
I am going to try to get back to sleep, my friend is visiting later and I need to be on form.
dragonfly that's much better news. Cornergran not good news for you though. ,💐
Stopped on the way to the quiet corner to wish you all a restful night. Family stuff and other worries building again. Enough now!
Night night everyone.
So pleased to hear you have better news dragonfly.
I do hope your DH makes good progress in the rehab place. Also that it's not too far for you to travel to visit.
Thinking of you & all here who have worrying issues to deal with.
Group hugs all round! x
That’s great news Dragonfly! Our stairlift has been a godsend and didn’t take long to get sorted. I throw washing down the stairwell, which occasionally leaves the hallway festooned in knickers!
Still waiting for the doctor to contact me about my blood results.
Good evening all. DH is happily ensconced in a lovely room in rehab. They think he should be there for just 2 weeks then he will be sent home initially to live on one level. I have therefore ordered a stairlift. I have been feeling concerned when carrying washing down the stairs so this will hopefully solve a few problems.
In town today I bumped into an old work colleague. We were so overjoyed to see each other we had a coffee. This really uplifted me.
All I all it has been a good day.
I hope everyone has a good night.
Evening all! The village lunch went well and then I went to town for parcels from M&S and Waitrose.
I have a bit of an upper respiratory tract infection - I do find a tot of whisky helps. Did you know alcohol suppresses coughs? It used to be in old fashioned cough mixture.
For the first week in December, Christmas feels awfully close!
Sleep well everyone
Really lovely to hear from you SueD, I do hope your sons have the most wonderful time together.
The lesser of many evils llfl,, 👍.
Hello kitchen people.
I imagine we’re all getting on with ‘the’ preparations. I collected a couple of parcels from Waitrose click and collect. I also wrote most of cards. Some get a letter, but that isn’t written yet.
The nurse from the Colonoscopy department rang this morning. Apparently the polyp they removed wasn’t a polyp but a harmless lump of bowel! However, I have an inflamed bowel which is colitis. My GP will take over my care and the hospital emailed the information to her this morning. So will this be more medication to add to the five tablets I take each day currently?
Have a good evening and sleep 💤 tight.
Sympathy for the sacro-iliac pain, Grannygravy. Mine ‘went’ when I was pregnant with dd1 and it regularly returns to remind me.
You’re very good, having the GC staying so much. I don’t think I could do it, or at least I wouldn’t want to do it, much as I love them!
Granmarie that experience sounds terrifying, what an awful thing. It’s a timely reminder to us all to check our carbon monoxide monitors are still valid.
Sending love to you, Yia. Xxx
I hope the rehab place comes up very soon, Dragonfly .
Lovely photo, Blossoming.
Hope you’ve had a good journey home, Brook.
UTTB I have what you mean about being done with cooking! 53 years for me and I’ve never really enjoyed it. If I won the pools (do ‘the pools’ still exist?) I’d employ a cook! Glad your nose is healing now.
Corned beef hash - mmmmm!
Our Christmas arrangements have chopped and changed, Jax so my lists (in my head, not on paper yet) have been chopping and changing as well. I just can’t keep track of who likes what and who doesn’t like that.
I’ve been busy again. I took dd1 and GD to see a musical at the theatre on Sunday. GD was entranced by it all and came out singing the songs! Yesterday dh’s car has its MOT done and I spent part of the day chasing up a lost parcel. Today, which was dry, was taken up with reorganising the garage, which was almost impossible to get into. I hadn’t realised that No 2 son had dumped boxes of his stuff in there, which was partly why you couldn’t move for stuff! Cheeky monkey! There’s a car boot full for recycling and a bag of rubbish to go. I have to say, the big black spiders were scary - I haven’t seen so many before! As long as they stay there and not in my house…
Christmas decorations have been found and I can make a start of brightening up outdoors. My sittingroom is being decorated next week (I’m regretting my life decision to have it done before Xmas, at this very moment
) so I can’t do in there until that’s finished. I must crack on with wrapping presents as I need to post some off. Ds2 is going to the US to visit ds1 next week so he may take things as well.
Chi ale care tomorrow and Friday and I’ve my book group on Thursday - it’ll soon be the weekend again. Take care everyone, TOYA. Xxx
Redcar I am joining you with back pain! I have an extremely dodgy sacroiliac joint (osteopenia) which I aggravated yesterday. I was too stubborn to ask for help getting a heavy box out of my boot.
Consequently I am cross with myself, doubly cross with DH (who brought out my stubbornness in the first place), and cross with my body which is not as it used to be 🤬
I really went for the gift wrapping today, and now know what I have left to purchase.
Thinking of all in the quiet corner 😘🤶🏻
Go careful Redcar!
Today started with sunshine, by about 2 we were back to showers, but an improvement on yesterday.
Cleaning, washing and planning today, goodness knows how many times shopping lists for delivery over the next few weeks have been chopped and changed.
I have to give myself a good talking to on occasion, it’s just a few days and family online here for 24 hours, but so good to have the six of us together when FC visits 🎅.
Good news on the sodium Blossoming but I can understand the urgency for guidance with the kidney results.
Well done chef, I’d be happy with that *FGT 🍴.
Hungry now, best off and finish dinner. 👋
I've had two busy days with the boys and housework etc. both boys were very well behaved today. I'm cooking dinner and having a glass of wine to relax. Redcar be careful with that back of yours! Tomorrow will be fairly quiet. I'll do a little bit in the school library then home to clean windows and the mirrors etc. My leg has been quite painful today so I need to rest it I think. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners
Goodness, it’s very quiet in the kitchen today.
I had a walk this morning, meeting up with some dog walking friends that I hadn’t seen for a while.
Then carried on trying to clear a space for the Christmas tree to go in the lounge. I have to go very slowly because of my back, but I moved a small table which felt a bit too heavy. My back has been stiff all afternoon, but I hope the hot wheat pack will help soothe it this evening. I visited my dementia friend this afternoon, again she slept most of the time. Her husband was in a reflective mood, unusual as he’s not one who normally shows his feelings.
I may try seated yoga tomorrow but will not be able to do many of the exercises.
Have a pleasant evening everyone.
I like corned beef hash and that looks like a lovely plateful. FGT Well done himself!
I had fish and chips from the chippy. My ds came to give dgs2 his belated birthday present and stayed for dinner. He wanted to try my local chippy which has an extensive vegan and vegetarian menu. So I had his company and dinner. I have retreated to bed as I'm tired. Monday is a very early rise for me. I hope you are all well.
FGT2 looks tasty, well done himself 👍🏻
What a horrible day it’s been today. Heavy rain most of the day, it’s hammering on the side window in the lounge now. A southerly wind is blowing hard too.
utbb I’m pleased that your nose has healed now.
blossoming good that your sodium and potassium levels are perfect, but not so good that your kidney function is deteriorating. Hope the doctor can come up with a solution to the problem.
fgt the corned beef hash looks tasty, just the sort of food for a day like today!
I got a bit wet walking to the post office this morning, but I did post my Christmas cards to Australia and bought stamps for the cards for this country (when I get around to writing them). I also started to clear a space in the lounge for the Christmas tree, so am making progress with the preparations.
I’m tired now so will say night night, sleep tight.
Tsk. Perrins of course.
Why don’t I proof read? 😁 why the hurry Mrs?
Well Himself made a pan of corned beef hash today! I’m amazed. He stood to peel potatoes and cut up an onion into very tiny pieces because skins would catch in the mesh of his stent. Hence no peas (skins) to add colour but hey with a liberal dollop of Lee & Perkins it was a very delicious meal for our tea at 5pm (we eat early these days).
Perfect food for a wet miserable day.
kittylester the offer of an Indian meal at our local restaurant or lunch/dinner at the posh seafront hotel always gets a yes from our teens (17 & 16)
I hear you Gg. Love them to come and love them to go!!
We have a flurry of Whatsapps in the mornings from the children and grandchildren, which is hard work. but how lovely that they contact us.
They visit less as they get older but the offer or a curry at the lovely indian restaurant at the top of the road works wonders and we have lots of catchups that way.
Blossoming please let us know what the doctor says.
Uttb glad you feel that your nose is more presentable now.
I had tea (and no cake) with a lovely friend this afternoon so I am in a good mood.
The Imp is on the shower, I am sitting on my bed waiting for him to call me.
This is the fifth night in a row with GC sleeping over, I love them all dearly but…
Finished putting Christmas decorations up apart from the real tree in sitting room, which will be in about a week’s time 🎄🎄🎄
It is wet and horrid here, been like it all day 🌫️☔️💨
Will try and catch up (I always se to behind the curve with your news)
Well, I got my test results today. My sodium and potassium levels are perfect but my kidney function is still deteriorating. GP will contact me to discuss. I’m disappointed, but very relieved about the sodium. I’m not sure where I go from here.
