Aww, Neine, so hard for you, but I'm glad you managed a bittersweet glimpse of your daughter and her new baby. Your prayers of thanksgiving are a wise way to deal with this difficult situation. Thinking of you. 💕🙏🕯

This evening we have our Remembrance Mass for all the parishioners who have died in the past year. During the prayers, each person's name is read out and a family member approaches the altar to light the candle with their loved one's name on it. It burns throughout the Mass, then it can be taken home. There is a tea in the hall afterwards. Another 'first' but comforting...

Lovely new kitchen. Passing through on my way to the quiet corner but have added to the mulled wine and left cheese scones and an assortment of mini quiches.

Mulled wine simmering....and some of Aldi's gorgeous mince pies with Jamaican rum on the side.
Whilst in Aldi I discovered my hunch about DD and a baby was right...and by the blue top I now have 11 Grandsons ( after having had 4 DD's). I nearly walked right into DD4 and SiL, they must have seen me but didn't walk away and I just grabbed the bread and fled...only to have to go back in again for the two things I'd originally gone in for...I used the self checkout and then saw that DD4 was directly in my path out holding the baby....only taking a couple of steps forward as I approached.....I honestly didn't know what to do....my heart ached to stop but DD4 has been the most difficult and I didn't want to upset her. I've just got this niggle that she wanted me to see the new baby and maybe having just given birth maybe needed her Mumma. I have cried at the thought.

I've been to Mass today and offered up prayers of thanks that she and the baby are safe and well.... It's all I can do.
Prayers said for all in this safe place who are struggling in any way....

I had to have a new aerial fitted, then the central heating and hot water had a short rest but now my computer is on its way out permanently.

I must get in touch with Yia because I have to borrow the handsome Spiros so he can sit with me in my nearest town when I sit outside the local tube station begging for money. Spiros doesn't look neglected or hungry but he will help me.

At this rate it will be a boiled egg for Christmas lunch.

My heating system is struggling to reach 21C. I went out but hadn't enough layers on, it was bitterly cold.

We are taking advantage of the offer in today's delivery GG13 - hope it lasts till Christmas.

I shall stay in the quiet corner, DH made a trip to Sainsbury’s a couple of weeks ago to get good wines for over Christmas and New Year. (25% off 6+ bottles)

I am rather embarrassed to admit we had to return today to replace as we had drank most of them 🫢. Fortunately they were having another 25% off promotion.

In our defence we needed a little bit of something nice to compensate for our house being in turmoil with builders, decorators and various trades

Have left a white, red and rose on the side 🍷🍾🥂if anyone fancies a tipple or two.

There’s some delicious lentil soup just ready to serve, it’s grandmabattys recipe, so it’s very good
I’ll give them a try thanks kitty, can see what they’re like
There’s room by the fire and lots of warm cosy blankets to keep us warm, I’m in for the rest of the day now and not moving far from the sofa

I was on the hunt for vegan pigs in blankets this morning. Didn't find any of those but DH picked up pigs in blankets with cheese. I'd welcome opinions. I'm undecided but I'll leave some on the side for you all to try.

I’ve put the heating on again, but it’s struggling to get up to 20 degrees. I’ll go and do some ironing soon that may warm me up too.
