Glad lfl toe is improving. And yes, January is a sad month, but I find February so very mood lowering and dreary.
Any news to fgt?

Thank you as always to our treasured benefactor soop.
Hot chocolate and warm muffins await, cushions plumped and fire stoked.

Good luck tomorrow jaxjacky hope all is well.
Not long now Topsy.
GMBatty that's one of my favourite meals.
Hoping for news of the Soops.
I, too, did a roast today. Roast pork, roast potatoes, honey roasted carrots and peas. Fairly basic but it tasted great and the first roast I've done for a while.
DH went to watch Bertie play football for the first time since he broke his collarbone. They lost but Bertie (who is 14 today) played well and was asked by the father of a 7 year old if he would coach his son. Bertie was sooo pleased - he will be earning money!!
Nannytopsy gooseberries are one of my favourite fruits. February is fast approaching! Jaxjacky fingers crossed for tomorrow I hope it all goes well. Grannygravy despite doing crossed stitch, I loathe proper sewing and mending.
Dd popped in with the boys who were quite hyper. They'd been at soft play. She took away her washing so my kitchen is less cluttered. I am roasting salmon fillet in teriyaki sauce and will serve with egg fried rice and steamed tenderstem broccoli and green beans. A fairly healthy dinner. Enjoy your evening all.
Fingers crossed Jaxjacky
Chicken and roasties in the oven, starting to smell good 👍🏻
I tackled sewing jobs today, mending one of my favourite coats and sewing on swimming badges, I am definitely not a seamstress 😹😹😹
Wishing you all a peaceful evening 🙋♀️
Hi all, may you all have had a less blue day, perhaps shaded with pink.
It’s been cloudy today, so looks quite bleugh, sun makes it better.
Hope your toe did well today llfl and soop is improving.
I have my follow up appointment with the surgeon tomorrow, I’m hopeful of good news to buck me up.
Enjoy your evening all.
A quiet kitchen again. I am getting through my list. Today we planted thornless gooseberries (which scratched us both!) and pruned half of a rambling rose. It completely filled the brown bin so I am not sure the other half will get done before I am off gardening duties. I remember those happy days when I would have done everything in an afternoon!
I hope you are all feeling a bit happier - not long until February!
Charleygirl how incredibly frustrating for you. I hope you can get the problem solved.
I am having a very quiet day. I'm doing dds washing and drying. Fortunately her heating has been fixed this morning. A bit of cooking later and that'll be the extent of my labour. Have a good day all.
Soop and Baggs 💐 there is a lot of illness around at the moment ,I find January a very depressing time of year .We have not been out much since Christmas will have to shake out feathers (my mother used to say).Glad you have date for op Nanny . Fgt don't know if you are reading 🌼 Hope all poorlies get back to feeling better
Blossoming you take lovely photo,s .
I hope soop's antibiotics have kicked in and she starts to feel slightly better.
A hospital OPD appointment was changed so I tried to change the transport, no joy no drivers. To cut a long story short I managed it eventually, but I was asked 20 million questions why I couldn't go by public transport. I thought the fact I am 82, partially sighted with mobility problems would be enough, but no. I was asked how many carers I had and if one would be coming to OPD with me. If I am asked the former question again, I will not be responsible for my actions. At my age, it is probably assumed I am gaga, but I am not there yet.
I could go by minicab, but I can't see the indoor signage, and I don't know how far the department is from the entrance. This is an emergency appointment which started 3 years ago. This will be the 3rd different hospital, I give up.
Nice to enjoy a quiet moment here. Sorry for those suffering the January blues. Am finding it hard this year, can’t wait until the nights get lighter, DH very depressed, obviously is expected post stroke, but when his mood becomes so dark I find it hard to keep motivating him, he has come off his regular antidepressants and is refusing to see a GP about a different type of antidepressant that won’t make him so drowsy. As his registered carer I can see the GP on my own on his behalf but I won’t do this on this occasion, I feel that when it comes to antidepressants my DH needs to be involved.
Wish me luck 🍀

Llfl how's your toe?
Well, it’s much better than it was thanks. I decided not to ring the surgery yesterday. But, I only had a short sock and boot wearing episode yesterday. Just slippers today and open topped sandals when I popped out to the garage freezer. I’m driving to church tomorrow which will involve some walking! We’ll see!
Ho kitchen pals, I’ve just come up to bed at DD1s after a busy but enjoyable day. We’ve been out and about most of the day taking the DGSs to their various activities and fitting in a bit of food shopping too. They’re all still up watching tv but I’m feeling tired so I’m leaving them to it
It’s been quite mild here today, I definitely notice the difference between here and home.
I hope the January blues leave soon and we can look forward to brighter days ahead. Well done with your daily walks Blossoming and pleased to hear you’re doing so well
Thinking of everyone in the quiet corner, take care all x
A bright morning then a cloudy afternoon here. I had a walk this morning and had a chat to a friend who was walking his dog. Changed the bedclothes and did some ironing! I was about to cautiously attack some of the weeds in the garden when DD2 and littlest arrived. Probably just as well as no doubt I would have done too much and upset my back again!
I found a small electronic keyboard for littlest to play with, it has several pre programmed tunes on it, so we listened to a jingle Bells on repeat! She loved it.
kitty I’m pleased you had a good day!
Well done for your challenging walk blossoming.
Night night everyone, sleep tight!
Bless you Baggs🌻
Lots of love and healing thoughts to our dear Soop.❤️
I've just popped out of the quiet corner to see what news there is in the kitchen and am saddened to hear of blue days. I hope people enduring them start to feel better - hopefully as the weather brightens up.
I have had a happy day as DD3 and children called in and stayed for a few hours. DH went to the football with DS1 and I just sat and chatted with my visitors..
Our next door neighbour had the trees in her front garden cut down today and it looks very dull now. But we get great views up to the high street.
Llfl how's your toe?
Hello kitchen people.
OH is reading a book and I’m relaxing with the cats. They’re good company.
OH had to borrow my car today to go to a shooting club event. His own car is at the local garage with a wheel problem. I’ve had my car for a year and he’s only driven it once - across a car park. Luckily for him he managed fine.
I know it’s a bit early yet, but sleep 💤 tight.
Good evening kitchen friends. MrB and I had a lovely walk down to the river this morning, which involved negotiating some tricky (for me) stone steps and a couple of very steep slopes. After a brunch of bacon butties we had another walk around the marina. After all that I had a shower then fell asleep! I am feeling quite good at the moment, but am frightened of tempting fate! Phlebotomy appointment on Monday. Goodnight, sleep tight all x
Thank you Grandmabatty. I often read GM but don’t post much. Blue days are common this time of year I think. Dark mornings and evenings and little sunshine to brighten the day.
Days seem long and not so interesting. Thinking of you too x
GrandmaC47 my sympathy. Ive had a blue couple of weeks too. I isolate from people and get very lacking in motivation. Doodle I'm thinking of you too. There are lots of lovely people in the kitchen. Tilly I often think of you too.
Today i met up with a good friend for breakfast. Dd, dsil and the boys arrived for their breakfast too (local garden centre). Then i got washing done for dd and cleaned the bathroom. I've also tidied up the bookcase and had a tesco delivery. Tonight i will watch rubbish on tv before bed. Thinking of you all
I’ll just say thinking of everyone with health worries and experiencing difficult times. I don’t want to miss out any of you special Kitcheners. Hoping better days are ahead 🌻
Very quiet in here today.
Thinking of our dearest soop hoping she has had a better day .
(((Hugs))) to all in need, with health problems or worries 😘
It’s Haslam Park GrandmaC47. We have many beautiful public parks, I think mostly Victorian.
Doodle 💐, GrandmaC47 💐
👋 Grannmarie, I’m ok thank you. Still reading every day but suffering the January blues. Roll on the spring.
I love your photos, Blossoming. Does the park begin with A. It looks familiar.
Hope all is well with the Fgts and everyone with worries and struggles.
