I’ve done it too! And once when I was nowhere near old age. Just mind elsewhere…
So annoying, though!

I have done that too! Easy mistake.

Oh, ROMILO, I feel your pain, as I have done the same thing before. It’s absolutely infuriating and frustrating. My excuse is the same as for any daft thing I do (of which there are many), “My head is so full of knowledge by this age that I have no room left for the minutiae of the everyday” grin (Or, in other words, my brain has gone into ‘overload’ mode) hmm

If it was me, I'd say I got 'distracted'! wink

Last week on a cold and sunny day I decided that home made chicken broth would be lovely for lunch with some extra for the freezer. Stock pot on, on went carrots, celery, onions, garlic, thyme and a bay leaf followed by a full bag of bone in chicken thighs. They simmered for 2 hours, I chopped some fresh vegetables and then needed to remove the stock pot veg and take the meat from the thighs. It was only as I poured the dregs from the pot into the colander that I realised the last of my lovely stock was disappearing down the sink! Old age or stupidity ? hmm
