Good Morning Sunday 7th December 2025
(61 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dark but dry and cold start here in Brackley this morning.
Yesterdays coach trip was OK apart from the weather paying its toll as to doing the cruise up and down the Trent at Nottingham , the base for the boat cruise is close Nottingham Racecourse .
Today staying in , Health OK,
Take Care,
Mick
So sorry to hear about your DGD Sar53 what an awful time she’s going through ❤️
Thinking of you both fgt and hoping for good news next week x
Blossoming I often check back later in the day to read the later posts, lovely to hear from you and thank you for the great photo
Thank you corner and grandMattie
I’m very apprehensive. And will be until Christmas when the results will be in. I hope we can have our own Christmas miracle. It’s much needed.
Thank you too for those of you of faith who pray for us.
I seem to have missed updates from dragonfly I hope her husband is responding to care in the rehab place. Such a worrying time for her too.
So much stress all around presently. My thoughts for all who are struggling in life right now. We all wish ‘something’ could take it all away don’t we?
Definitely not blossoming. It’s always a pleasure to hear from you, I drop in and out during the day and try to catch up with everyone. That photo is a treat, we do love a steam train. Haven’t ventured on to one this year . Must do so next, love them.
Good to hear from you too fgt. You and your family are never far from my thoughts. Wishing for positive news this week. Love to you all.
Thank you everybody for your encouraging words. It’s good to know I’m not just “shouting into the void” as it were!
Hello Blossoming I go back and read later posts usually when I’m eating lunch and always lovely to hear from you. Brilliant pic of the Santa train.
I rarely post on this thread but i always read it. I like to hear how everyone is getting on
Thanks for posting, fgt. Hope all the Christie appointments go well, ditto CT.
You know that your family and you are always in my heart an£ thoughts. 🫂😘
Blossoming, I always look for your posts. I’ve been visiting your area for over 50 years and didn’t know about the trains. I made a point of seeing where they are on my last visit 😀
Thinking of all with health or family worries.
I dip in till mid afternoon Blossoming so I always get to read all who post.
What a brilliant photo! Thanks for sharing. I hope your day got get some reassurance soon about your blood tests. Anxiety is draining isn’t it?
We are at Christie’s on 3 separate days next week. One of the days is for a CT scan. My mind won’t rest until the results are in. Hopefully 🤞 we could have good news for Christmas. If not I will be in bits. Such is our life.
I read them Blossoming. I usually have two or three 'reading times'. The first one when I am going to bed about 5ish, if I am very late, usually there are one or two, second reading about 8, waiting for painkillers to kick in and a loo visit, third one when I am getting up. Usually with another loo visit, more painkillers and a lovely cup of coffee from OH. It's usually early afternoon when I am getting up, unless I have a hospital/doctors appointment. I don't really go out anywhere else. I do enjoy reading about every one else's busyness though! Thank you all.
Nice to hear from you Blossoming
Morning Blossoming I see your posts, what a great picture!
I’m so sorry Sar the whole family must be worn out 💐
Good morning everyone from rainy Lancashire.
We have enjoyed our usual walk around the Dock, then spent some time watching the Santa Special train 🚂 and the annual Santa Dash.
Still waiting to hear from my doctor regarding my recent blood results.
Thinking of our poorly grans and those with troubles, as always.
I am not sure if anyone reads my posts as I can never manage to post earlier in the day. It takes me a while to get up and dressed! Anyway, I’m rather pleased with this photo I managed to take with both train and runners.
Wishing you all a good day, whatever you’re doing 🦩🦩🦩
Morning from South Lanarkshire. Loved the pictures of the Angels baubles. How marvellous to support a feeling of community in your wee town as well as giving pleasure. These things are so important in our fractured world.
Going to try to make your lentil soup today Grandmabatty, fingers crossed I can make it as tasty as yours.
A good visit to my friend yesterday, mentally she was totally herself but her body is very swollen with retained fluids, I hope they can get on top of that. She is very nervous about all the talk of increasing levels of flu patients in hospital ( she was ill and had to cancel several vaccination appointments). In spite of this being on the News as a danger in hospitals now, I was the only one wearing a mask and a passing nurse said to me that ‘they’re not mandatory you know’. No, let’s wait until there’s a crisis!
Wishing everyone a good day and special thoughts to your DGD and her family Sar
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Not as cold.
I've just lit the fire in my big room for the Quaker meeting this morning. My Helper has popped out for supplies to make soup.
I have accepted new tenants for my wee granny flat to start in January. I posted an advert on Friday night and was able to remove it yesterday. It's a couple from Nepal who seem nice.
I didn't want to be here another winter but I have no choice.
Oh Sar how hard it's been for DGD and all of you.
Your family sound really close and supportive Marydoll . 😁
Hoping everyone has a good day today.
Madeleine45. I always read your posts with my cup of good coffee. They are so positive and interesting.
Sar so sorry to read the news about your granddaughter
Good morning from a bright, dry Durham. Thanks for that Pant although rain is forecast this afternoon.
DD2 and DGS2 came yesterday, it’s School performance week and he was very keen to demonstrate his singing! It was really late when they left, taking little dog with them. Today they are going to see Santa at their favourite farm.
After having the dog here, I’m hoping to catch up on some domestic stuff - the hard floors need attention and my cards won’t write themselves. She also left me an enormous bag of laundry.
💐Sar others often don’t realise how much an illness affects the whole family.
I’m sure your e-consult will make ‘interesting’ reading MaryD! Good luck
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning all and we’re in for a damp one here in Essex.
Oh Sar I’m so sorry to hear about your brave girl. Life can be cruel at times. 🙏.
Yesterday Dd and DGD came for a birthday lunch. DS1 and DIL came in to wish her a happy birthday.
They stayed a while so consequently lunch was delayed . A bit like your morning Mary. Best laid plans , and all that.
Never mind , we had lunch eventually at 2.45 and our facials followed. DGD at 10 is a very good beautician, with a light , gentle touch. Calming music too. The things they learn in YouTube.😉.
Today I’ll pop up to town. Family cards to buy and gifts for group leaders who work hard in the U3A . Just a little token of appreciation.
Lovely angels Baubles.
Have a reviving siesta after lunch Roses , *Redcar, and Marydoll.
Have a gentle day ⛪️
Good morning all from Cambridgeshire where it is grey and rain will come in later but doesn’t feel as cold.
I woke in the night feeling dizzy and struggling this morning. Not really sure if it is to do with my stiff neck or a viral thing so will have a slow start. Thankfully a quiet day is planned with no little visitors today. We had hoped to get the Christmas tree up and decorate the house but will see how I go. We may not put the outside lights out this year although we don’t have too many just see how we feel later. We alternate between a real tree and artificial one but last year our real tree was very expensive and by Boxing Day it smelt so strong and awful we had to get rid of it!!
I love the angels bauble.
Very sad Sar to hear your DGD S is suffering still and hope things get easier
💐 to all those struggling.
Wishing everyone a peaceful happy Sunday.
Good morning from Shropshire.Another rainy day.
Yesterday was very peaceful with the children.DGD enjoyed sewing club, she made a Father Christmas and an angel to go on the tree. When she came home she carried on with another sewing project and H was engrossed with Lego.I took the opportunity to write several Christmas related lists.I just need to get on with getting things done now!
A day of laundry, housework and admin today.Sunday is normally a day of rest but with a busy week ahead we need to be organised. We are both tired but luckily everything this week is afternoon/evening with no early starts🤞🏻
Sar, I am so sorry that S has more health conditions to deal with.My thoughts are with you all🙏🏻
Marydoll, I hope you get your medication sorted asap.I am fuming on your behalf🤬
Thoughts with all our mountaineers and wishing everyone the best day possible🦩🌻🎅🏼🎄
grandMattie
…hurst at.= Christmas tree! Blooming auto correct 🤬 (and my fault for not proof reading!)
You made me laugh GrandMattie !
Hope being hit by the chocolate didn’t hurt! 🤣🤣🤣
Good morning everyone from another damp and.grey day in Northampton. Actually yesterday turned out bright and sunny, but I had no need to go out.
I spent some time re-arranging the furniture in the sitting-room to make room for the Christmas tree which I shall bring in from the garage today. It will be put up in its place in the front bay window today, and I shall probably leave the decorating to tomorrow.
DD-out-law (DS's partner of over 20 years) came for coffee and chat yesterday morning and to collect her birthday presents. I had got her a cosy wrap and a cookery book and she seemed very pleased with them - we had a lovely long chat - she is usually so busy rushing everywhere and doesn't often have time to stay. We discussed Christmas arrangements, especially food planning! She will be doing her usual Swedish Christmas Eve supper thank goodness, one less thing to worry about.
Spent the afternoon perusing the Saturday papers and caught up on recorded programmes/films after dinner. Probably will do similar today once the tree is up. Chicken Provencal for dinner tonight.
Wishing all a pleasant and peaceful Sunday.
Sar53: I'm so sorry to hear of your DGD's poor health and just at such a special time in her life. I do hope things will improve now that other conditions have been diagnosed.
