Panorama tonight on BBC1 at 8pm is all about Evri. If you have been let down this could be an interesting watch.

It seems to be hit and miss.
Evri has been fine so far.
Hermes was dire.
Amazon? Mostly OK, but when you get a driver that can’t read numbers or road names, (had 2 of those recently) you may as well reorder.

Evri is Hermes, they rebranded in 2022.

My Evri delivery courier is great. It’s Royal Mail’s ‘service’ that is dire where I live.

Did anyone actually watch the programme?

I watched it. They keep finding ways to up the number of deliveries a driver must make and reduce the money they are paid with the result the good delivery people are leaving as they can't clear minimum wage and those who stay don't have the time to do a good job so cut corners.

It looks like EVRi may well be coming under official examination again as they do not seem to be living up to the assurances they gave MPs.

Our Evri courier is a lovely friendly helpful girl. Always makes sure we get our parcels & doesnt just dump & run! Maybe we are just lucky but hope they keep her!

Greciangirl Tue 16-Dec-25 17:29:59

I have no complaints about Evri at all.
Had the same courier, Colin for years and always positive. And on time.

Pittcity Tue 16-Dec-25 17:03:20

We have a lovely Evri delivery lady. She always comes around the same time and acts on our instructions (we have her personal contact details.)
This is in contrast to other delivery companies who drop and run!

Bluesmum Tue 16-Dec-25 16:54:28

We have an excellent Evri delivery couple that cover our village, always cheerful and do a great job.

Sara1954 Tue 16-Dec-25 16:42:43

We have a business and we do mail order, people frequently ask us not to use Evri and we don’t.
But as others have said, the girl I have at home is lovely and friendly, always on time, and has never given me any problems whatsoever.

Evei. This just shows some of the worst aspects of the so called disrupters in the economy. And the huge changes in shopping habits.

Where a lot of people buy massive amounts of tat they don't need. And they want it now!!!

A lot of these companies are very exploitative and will employ illegal immigrants if possible. And just recently also Asylum Seekers.

We have a lovely Evri courier where I live. She always gets top marks. She leaves packages where you ask her to, and if we’re in she tings the bell and hands it over with a smile. Julie covers HP15, Bucks.
So many couriers don’t even bother ringing the bell, they just leave stuff on the doorstep. No idea why.

lilypollen Tue 16-Dec-25 16:07:26

Desdemona Evri never ring the bell and leave parcels outside the gate. The Lush brand is plastered all over the box so obvious what is inside to anyone passing. Fortunately I spotted it from the house as it was a large order for Christmas. I am very surprised that Lush use them.
After the Panorama programme last night I realise couriers are under pressure but there is no excuse for shoddy service and questions should be asked of Evri the organisation.

Very llucky as I have a great Evri courier, hate when he's off! Amazon and Yodel are awful...

Quercus Tue 16-Dec-25 15:50:35

Sadly while we as customers want cheap 'postage' and Evri seeks to undercut the other couriers the situation is unlikely to change.

orly Tue 16-Dec-25 15:33:28

You can't believe everything you see on Panorama

sazz1 Tue 16-Dec-25 14:32:01

I'm very lucky here as we have nice, punctual Evri, Yodel and Amazon delivery people. Yodel always brings biscuits for our dogs too.

shoppinggirl Tue 16-Dec-25 14:30:05

Our Evri couriers are a husband and wife team. They're the most reliable, friendly people you could wish to meet! I dread the time they decide to give up and do something else. Maybe we're in the minority of lucky customers!

knspol Tue 16-Dec-25 14:23:33

Actually in my area I have found Evri are the best of the lot. Yodel are the very worst here. Most deliveries end up dumped outside the gates either on top of a parcel box in full view of the road or else under the hedge on the muddy floor. Not one of them rings the gate bell to say there's a delivery in which case, as I'm usually at home, I could go out straight away and collect said parcel.

Ah, EVRI, the evil twin sister of Hermes!

friendlygingercat Tue 16-Dec-25 14:12:32

One year Evri left two mis-delivered parcels outside my locked gate! That is, out on the pavement. My gardener found them. They were for the other side of the estate and I (mobility isues) had to way to get them there.

Two days later a relative appeared and kindly offered to drop them off on his way home. First house someone was in but they would not answer the door (car present, lights on) so he left parcel on the step.

Second parcel a woman was rude because he had taken 3 days to bring it around and she had already ordered a replacement. Even when he explained package was misdelivered to his disabled aunt she did not apologise. He told her "Next time I will tell my aunt to throw it in the bin. Shes not a postal depot.|"

yogitree Tue 16-Dec-25 14:01:38

I have had my Evri delivery person (Phil) for years now and before when he worked for Hermes. I've followed his life and that of his family over that time. He's very polite, dependable, helpful and reliable and goes beyond the necessary if asked.

bookwormbabe Tue 16-Dec-25 13:53:58

I am lucky enough to have a Coop nearby that takes Evri deliveries so I always opt to pick them up from there, otherwise I would avoid them , although as someone else said you don't always know which company will be used.

Our local Next Door feed at the moment is full of people trying to track down misdelivered parcels. Not sure if they are all Evri, but the problem seems to be epidemic.

travelsafar Tue 16-Dec-25 02:55:45

Our delivery man is lovely always has a smile on his face and delivers to your door even though I'm top floor in a block of flats. He does leave parcels outside of door if im not home but as im in sheltered housing I guess its pretty safe to do so and I've never had anything go missing.

We have a lovely Evri courier, she's always smiling and does a great job.

You could be talking about ours. Always on time, always careful and always smiling.

Jennerdysphoria Mon 15-Dec-25 22:53:08

Royal Mail is the worst delivery service where I am. Only occasional problems with the others.
