Quality Street chocolates in the tin,do you buy them?

I bought a tin of Quality Street at Halloween specifically for any callers to grab a handful, but I had to dash off on a mission of mercy before anyone had the chance to call, and by the time I came home, they had all gone in out of the rain!! I put them away for Christmas. That lasted two days before I raided them! They were disappointing. I shalln’t buy any more. Other, better, chocolates are available. Guylian Sea Shells spring immediately to mind………

Personally I think they are ghastly, Lindt chocolate for us or Black & Green

Quality Street are from a certain era aren’t they? No I don’t buy them or any other large christmas tinned sweets as I just don’t like them. My favourites if I had to choose, are Lindor , but I’d try and refrain as I’d polish them all off and then regret it.

Have gone off those Cadbury ones. They taste sort of soapy and waxy. I'd rather they cost more and tasted better.

No Quality Street here. I buy M&S The Big Tin, £12 for a lovely 1.2 kg tin and the flavours are wonderful.

I no longer buy Quality street as the chocolates do not taste as they used to, nor are the wrapped in coloured cellophane any longer.

No, I bought a tub of Celebrations and some biscuits to hand in with a card to my local health centre. None of the chocolate tastes the same. For my own household, I have bought chocolates with no palm oil and a box of After Eights, which do not contain Palm Oil. Quality Street like many others ruined years ago.

No longer a fan of chocolates, especially Roses, Quality Street and Celebrations. Haven’t had a Mars bar for maybe 35 years and they were lovely. Leonidas or violet and rose chocs, maybe. Just went off it.

I haven’t bought them for years, too much waste packaging for a very small bite of poor quality confectionery.

Don't need it. Don't buy it.
Secretly hoping someone may get me a bit of chocolate for Christmas though- maybe Toblerone- it doesn't have palm oil or come in a horrible plastic tub.

I bought 4 tins for gifts. They are the devil to wrap though!
Here they are in a 650 gram tin, and I bought them on sale for $18, which is 9.76 GBP.

Never bought one :-) We go minimalist on the chocolate and there are only three of us. I did get a box of Lindt mixed chocolates this year though - which I won't eat any of! But OH and grandson will polish them off in no time.

I have started buying The Big Mix from M&S. Delicious chocolate and fillings including coffee. Glittery paper and, I think, good value.

When I was training to be a nurse the patients and relatives used to buy tins of Quality Street for the staff. We used to fight to the death for the green triangles.

Did you know you can buy tubs of Nescafe Green Triangle (Quality Street) Mocha Flavour coffee? We love it. It was in Sainsbury’s this morning as well as other flavours.

Cadburys just tastes greasy these days to me. However the grandchildren love them! 💙❤️

My mil used to buy me a box of rises or quality st every year, I never liked them, ,still don’t.
She never got a gentle hint.
I prefer dark chocolate.

My local supermarket is full of Quality Street tubs, having sold out of all the others.
Apparently sales are down because of the dull paper wrappers and the fact that palm oil has been used in the ingredients instead of milk.

Thanks for all the information about alternatives to the plastic containers and recycling. I have bought one to take to the hospital tomorrow when I go for chemo. It will only be my daughter with me for Christmas and we are both diabetic but I might get her some of the small bars of dark chocolate for her "stocking"

Lovely idea. When my dear Dad was alive he always looked forward to his Christmas Day treat. A miniature bottle of brandy and a few squares of Bourneville. There was very little choice for diabetics back then. Thankfully, things have changed. I'm sure your daughter will enjoy them and good wishes for your treatment.

We used to buy them but stopped a few years ago when all the palm oil was introduced as I didn't like the taste.

Our other favourite, the Lindt Lindor truffles, has also introduced palm oil so they don't get bought anymore either.

We stopped buying them a couple of years ago along with Roses, Heroes and Celebrations.
I now have a tub with separate compartments which I fill with jelly beans, peanut M&Ms, liqueurs and some chocolate creams from Whittakers (online).
