Quality Street chocolates in the tin,do you buy them?

No, they don’t taste the same any more. My favourite Christmas treat chocolates are Hotel Chocolat kirsch cherries, and I can only manage two at a sitting, which is a bonus.

I bought a tin of Quality Street at Halloween specifically for any callers to grab a handful, but I had to dash off on a mission of mercy before anyone had the chance to call, and by the time I came home, they had all gone in out of the rain!! I put them away for Christmas. That lasted two days before I raided them! They were disappointing. I shalln’t buy any more. Other, better, chocolates are available. Guylian Sea Shells spring immediately to mind………

No we don't buy them any more. We treat ourselves to a (few!) boxes of Lindt - the red ones 😋

Mine is actually tin by the way and will be used for storage when it’s empty.

I hide all our Christmas goodies as I buy them.

Along comes Christmas Eve, usually with a house full of sleeping here family and I am frantically turning the house/cupboards inside out trying to find my stash.

It causes much hilarity amongst the AC and now GC, as I usually find a stray box of biscuits/chocolates around Easter 🤷‍♀️😹🎄

I bought a tin of Quality Street from Tesco the other day. reduced from £12 to £6 they say but can’t imagine anyone spending £12 on one. It is about a third the size of tin when my kids were small. I still have one for storing deep cakes.

The brewery chain, Greene King, collect the plastic containers during January and February for recycling. You have to take them to your nearest Greene King pub but it's worth the effort. Last year I collected from family, friends and members of my many groups and I was horrified how many would have otherwise ended up in landfill.

We used to tie sparkly ribbon to the QS chocolates and hang them on the tree. Don’t buy them now as they have lost the sparkle. We have a bowl of Lindor underneath the tree instead.

(and the tree is a decorated large house plant these days!)

My name tells you all that you need to know- I dare not, as I would eat them all.
I do have a Fortnum and Mason biscuit tin, which plays " We wish you a Merry Christmas", from many years ago, but in general I don't like all the packaging.

I never buy them for ourselves, but my late MiL always used to give us a tin (or tub, latterly). We have always reused them for one thing or another. I'm more of a dark chocolate fan, so Green and Blacks or something of that nature would be my preference.

No, never buy Quality street.
We are lectured about plastic waste and then we see these boxes piled up in shops.
I prefer Belgian chocolate, British manufacturers have spoilt confection.

I'll buy a tub of something (Heroes or similar) for when the family are here on Boxing Day, but most chocolate nowadays tastes so fatty and artificial. I prefer Green and Black's bars.

I nearly got the John Lewis Quality Street pick and mix this year, now regretting that I didn’t 🤷‍♀️

We bought 5 from John Lewis! Including one for us. Miscalculated and have a spare one - oops.

The tins have pictures on the side showing what the chocolates are. The advantage of buying from John Lewis is that you can choose to have only the ones you like.

They also do them in paper cartons, environmentally friendly.

Not for years now. They became small and full of sugar and palm oil.

There's all those Quality Street filled with nails and screw tins rusting away in the garage .
I'm sorry that I didn't keep the ones with the pretty Regency lady and her soldier companion indoors.
If I'm honest I only like a few of the varieties offered.
I have memories of making "stained glass windows " with the coloured cellophane and cardboard as a child.

No, don’t buy anything like that.

I keep the tin from previous years and refil from the plastic ones. Anyone noticed how small the Quality Street chocs have become this year and also no little label to tell you what they are🤷‍♀️. I prefer Roses chocolates. The purple ones with the hazelnut in middle are tiny and round 😳
