I have had treatment in the last 6/7 weeks for sun damage on my nose, would be nasty if left untreated.
I have seen 2 Drs in that time, the first time for more years than I can remember ,but at least 7.
It is Nurse Practitioner every time, one is wonderful , one ok but one, who didn’t last long was awful.
I hope you get a good resolution GG.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 22-Dec-25 14:17:12

Shabby (non) treatment GG13 however glad to hear your pharmacist was so helpful.

I hope your measured complaint gets a reassuring response in due course. Much needed for ‘next time’.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 22-Dec-25 13:47:24

I have had to complain to the Practice Manager.

My GP is off on holiday for 6 weeks (lucky her), next earliest appointment is January 🤬🤬🤬

Have just spoken to our lovely local pharmacist, who has helped with my dilemma over the steroid dosage.

I have never ever had this problem with an asthma diagnosis and medication in the last 50 years.

TopsyIrene06 Mon 22-Dec-25 13:06:15

This is exactly what Wes Streeting appears to be ignoring. Deliberately ? I wonder…….
Dreadful treatment GG and FGT2. So sorry.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 22-Dec-25 12:43:44

And a nurse clinical practitioner who misdiagnosed Himself for six wasted months GG13.

Breaks my heart every time to think of that delay in treatment.

Susan56 Mon 22-Dec-25 12:10:16

Grannygravy I am fuming on your behalf.

It was a Clinical Practitioner who first misdiagnosed me which led to drs on phone consultations blindly following what he said.

Stick to your guns💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼you know your condition best.

I hope you get the correct dosage and feel better soon.💐

Blossoming Mon 22-Dec-25 11:26:50

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.

Today MrB and I have enjoyed our usual circular walk. The storm gates are open again but the footbridge is not closed. Santa trains are running all day, this is the last day.

I’m thinking of our poorly grans and those with troubles, as always.

Wishing you all a good day, whatever you’re doing 🦩🦩🦩

Grandmabatty Mon 22-Dec-25 11:26:25

Grannygravy I would be very angry at that. I hope you can get the correct dose sorted

GrannyGravy13 Mon 22-Dec-25 11:03:12

I have just had an appointment with someone described as Clinical Practitioner Access Role (whatever that is) who mansplained my asthma to me.

He then wanted to prescribe a dose of steroids which I pointed out to him would have me in hospital the day after I finished the course

I politely asked him to LOOK at my medical records in front of him, no apologies were forthcoming, he is going to speak to a consultant and hopefully I will be able to collect the correct dosage of dreaded steroids later today 🤷‍♀️🤬

Happy Anniversary Liberty 🥂🎂❤️

Melanie61 Mon 22-Dec-25 10:20:33

Another grey damp day here in Sheffield

I ordered an online shop from Morrisons , the main item being a large gammon joint to feed the family between Christmas and New Year
The only item that was unavailable was the gammon joint
hmm
Now a trip to Morrisons. I could have just gone anyway!

Grammaretto Mon 22-Dec-25 09:57:59

Morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's just getting vaguely light.
Yesterday's power cut lasted until midnight but I am pleased with myself that I managed fine.
I had a fire going for my impromptu coffee morning, I found 3 big candles, boiled water and an egg on my gas hob and best of all put my headtorch on.
I'd bought it in Glasgow at our GN meetup and had wondered why.

I then remembered the lessons, carols and mince pies not homemade at the Episcopal church so joined in. It was very lovely. Such friendly folk.

This morning I took my car, which is sounding like a tractor, to the garage but there's no bus back so I was driven home by the owner who thinks it's probably time to choose a new 2nd hand car.

I'm expecting my new tenants to visit this morning to sign contracts. They don't move in until January but are going to Spain until then.

I hope DH has settled back home Dragonfly

I hope those on the move have good journeys.

Any photos of your decorations Gingster?

Enjoy today.

Gingster Mon 22-Dec-25 09:23:49

Good morning all.
Bright and dry here in Essex.

DGD and I made Christmas tree decorations yesterday which look lovely. I took her home late afternoon and spent an hour with Dd. She’s still very poorly but her twin boys are very good and look after her (when they’re not at work or out enjoying themselves).😅. DGD likes to play nurse too.
I won’t see her today as things to do and Dh to keep an eye on.

This afternoon I’m going to a singalong party with the U3A. It will be fun as always.
Then on to M and S to pick up the Turkey and other bits. It was the only slot left for collection.

So sorry you’ve had a bad bout of flu Bellasnanna.look after yourself.
GG I hope you get a GP appointment and get it sorted before the big day., 🙏.

Trouble-free journeys for all those travelling to family and friends. The roads will be busy.

Take care all and keep well 🎄

Grandmabatty Mon 22-Dec-25 08:53:27

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and wet. It's still quite dark. Bellasnana I'm sorry to hear that you have flu. It's very debilitating. I hope you recover quickly. Liberty happy anniversary to you both. Marydoll I love sticky toffee pudding. Room for a wee one?😂
Yesterday I pottered about in the morning. I went to Aldi early and had all the housework done. In the afternoon I met up with a good friend for coffee and cake. It's always nice to see her. Two and a half hours disappeared then home for a quiet evening. Sadly I had a really bad night with constant pains in my feet. Paracetamol wasn't terribly successful so i got up at one o'clock for a cuppa. That meant I eventually got back to sleep and woke late in a panic because I hadn't put out the food bin. So up and threw on my dressing gown and shuffled out in the rain with the bin. I'm hoping the bin men haven't been already. Today will be a day at home. I have no more visitors expected, so I'll be making the most of the peace. Tomorrow I'll have the boys to let dd and Dsil get the Christmas day food picked up. Have a good day all.

BlueSapphire Mon 22-Dec-25 08:49:44

Good morning everyone from a grey overcast Northampton, should be a dry day, which is good as I need to go to Sainsbury's after lunch to pick up the ordered turkey and buy a ham.

Mainly a quiet day at home yesterday; made up the bed in DS's old room ready for him and his partner, sorted out bedding and towels for all 6 guests who arrive on Wednesday. In the evening went to a neighbours for mulled wine and had a very pleasant time.

Had some very sad news over the weekend; a message from Australia which told us that DH's cousin Dennis had died at the grand age of 90. He and DH were brought up like brothers and they were very fond of each other. When DH died nearly 8 years ago Dennis came over straight away for the funeral which meant a lot to me. There was no long drawn out illness - he played 18 holes of golf and was still driving up to a few days before he died. I need to get a card when I'm at the shops today to send to his family.

Hope you are feeling much better now, Bellasnana.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

baubles Mon 22-Dec-25 08:49:21

So pleased to hear that Dragonfly and Bella, I do hope you feel much better soon.

baubles Mon 22-Dec-25 08:44:25

Good morning from South Lanarkshire, it’s another damp day.

Yesterday afternoon was spent doing laundry, ironing a few things to be worn this week and finishing off the gift wrapping. Quite a productive day, I also made a big pot of lentil soup which will see us through a couple of days.

Today we have the gas boiler service, a morning slot which could mean any time up till one pm. The Christmas hams have to be collected this morning too. I’ll have to cook them tomorrow, one for each of my children. I suspect we’ll all be eating ham for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for days.

I have always loved the busyness of Christmas but this year I find myself being overtaken by waves of nostalgia for years gone by. I don’t like it and will have to give myself a shake.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Jaxjacky Mon 22-Dec-25 08:40:15

Morning from a dull S Hants, not cold. Bellas I hope you recover soon, how horrid for you.
I just send in an econsult to my surgery as I think I have a UTI, very quick response, antibiotics issued. I hope you get a response GG13.
Granddaughter visiting to help me wrap while MrJ is sent on errands, Turkey needs to come out.
Good news dragonfly 👍

Surgery just called I have a face-to-face appointment at 9.40am.

When the NHS works it is marvellous 👍

GrannyGravy13 Mon 22-Dec-25 08:30:57

I got through to the GP just as my phone indicated it was 8am, I was 54th in the queue.

I opted for a call back…

Marydoll Mon 22-Dec-25 08:28:31

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 8 degrees C.

After a day of respite, my blooming cough is as bad as ever again!!! So unfair, to lull me into a false sense of security.wink

Welcome to the newbies.

Get well soon Bella.

So far so good, dragonfly

I'm in a rush this morning. I received an email at midnight from the film maker, asking me to print out an email to the prize winners of the Dr Who raffle. The email was rather frosty.
It just didn't make sense, so I have had to 'fix' it this morning and change it to a letter format, as it will be posted.
She then had the nerve to email back and pick me up on my grammar.
I had in fact corrected her poor grammar, but initially said nothing, so as not to embarrass her. She obviously doesn't know that I am a fully paid up pedant. She does now.wink

Today I have to check all the permission slips for that video, despite having a million other things to do for Christmas

My injection delivery is due this afternoon and I need to be in to sign for it. DH is a named person, but I know he will forget to ask for a sharps box or hand in the used one.

I plan to make sticky toffee puddings for Christmas and a light Christmas cake, which was my mother's recipe. I wasn't going to bother, but the family were devestated, when I said I wasn't going to bother.

Wishing you all a pleasant day.

WhiteSwan63 Mon 22-Dec-25 08:10:23

Good morning everyone from the East coast.
This morning I am picking up my DGS. I knew I would be asked to have him over this morning. I’m hoping he will make some Xmas crackers from a kit and help me with a big paper chain to hang in the kitchen. He’s autistic so everything is on his terms. He is excited for Christmas though which is a delight to see. He is being picked up at midday so it’s not too long.

DH and I are treating ourselves to a meal at Carluccio at one o’clock and a walk around the town picking up any last minute bits and pieces though we are pretty much sorted. My mum messaged yesterday to say her thermal long johns have lost their elastic luckily I’ve bought her some more for Christmas.

Thinking about those struggling with health. Enjoy your day if you can hopefully with sparks of joy. 🎄

Liberty Mon 22-Dec-25 08:05:33

Good morning from a dull dry Suffolk. DH is on early morning tea duties which he does every year on this date as it is our 41st wedding anniversary. We have been together for more than 50 years, living as people used to say ‘in sin’ in London where our 3 children were born. It was only when we moved to Suffolk 41 years ago that we thought we should marry probably so as not to upset the locals.

I will visit my dear friend who is having a 4 week respite stay in a local Care home and then DH and I are going out for dinner to our favourite pub in our nearest town. It is an old coaching inn, unspoilt by any modernisation with a bar and restaurant which serves delicious food.

Just been given a second cup of tea which I shall enjoy whilst reading your posts. Hope today is a good one for all.

ginny Mon 22-Dec-25 08:03:07

Good morning from a still dark N.Bucks.
Yesterday’s Pantomime was great fun, the two boys loved it. One nearly fell off his chair laughing and the 4 year old was very vocal in his condemnation of the villain.
Lots a of jobs to finish off today and a manicure appointment later this morning .
Thoughts with all who are poorly or troubled and a good day wished for all.

kittylester Mon 22-Dec-25 08:02:10

Good morning all from North Leicestershire.

DH is off to the gym at 9.30 but when he gets back we are off delivering gifts and cards.

Not a lot else happening. Have the best day possible everyone.
