When things go wrong … Christmas howlers!

Not a howler as such but I persuaded everyone to go to the pub while j cooked in peace. They opened a bottle of prosecco fir ne before they went.

Apparently (!!) the Christmas meal was the best ever - I wouldn't know, i went to sleep.

They copied the turkey joke in "Friends."

Comedy gold.

Oh yes!! 😂 I remember Mr. Bean with his head in the turkey carcass. It's making me laugh now... just thinking about it 🤣

This isn’t a howler but to warn of the unexpected.
My GD’s BF plays Padel weekly .
On Tuesday evening two young women were playing on the next court.
Suddenly one of them hit a very strong backhand and hit her friend smack in the face.
He said they heard the crunch of her nose and blood poured, she was actually floored and just lay there.
They rushed over but couldn’t lift her so called an ambulance which fortunately arrived in less than 30 minutes, A said her face looked awful a real mess.
The paramedics got her sitting up and worked on her for quite a time but didn’t take her to hospital, her friend took her away.
We sat last night imagining how she felt and more to the point how she would be looking, two very black eyes , a swollen nose and bruises.
Poor girl.
Always expect the unexpected.

Lucky it wasn't boiling hot gravy.

We had a couple of "emergency use" chairs like that when I was a kid. Actually sitting on one was a great adventure in unpredictability.

I'm on my own today, apart from my horrible cold which decided to stay with me for Christmas. No matter what I cook, I suspect it will taste of cardboard.
