Since returning home from hospital, Mr Soop has been my chief carer. The cancer has resulted in my spine being bent to such a degree I find it difficult to walk beyond a few paces. A carer comes in during the morning to wash and dress me. I have two lady carers and one male together with two MacMillan nurses and our GP who supervise the medication regime...24 tablets per day and Oramorph if and when I need strong pain killers. Everyone is kindness personified.
The weather today is glorious. Not a wisp of cloud and a mirror-like sea. My son will enjoy the beauty of Oban from which ferries leave for a handful of islands,
We were given a magnificent bottle of Champagne at Christmas, we will pop the cork on New Year's Day. When we do so, we will raise a glass of cheer to our Kitcheners.
I apologise for twittering on at a rate of knots. From hereon, slowly but surely, I will try to catch up with each and every one of you. It will take time but...this is the moment when I can claim to have made the effort, albeit from a rather lumpy old fashioned computer chair.
Farewell my lovelies. I will return tomorrow.
