Happy New Year to all. If science and reality rule then the future looks bright, and our planet and people will prosper. Cossy what is the 'wokiest'? I'm quite awake now, but hope to be asleep very soon. At about 9am tomorrow I shall be very awake.
Please don’t put yourself down Shelflife. You are treading a very difficult path and it’s only natural to feel the way you do.
Is it possible your GP could invite your husband for a “routine health check” during which his ears could be examined. Just in case they are impacted with wax which could be impeding his hearing and adding to his communication problems and frustration?
Thankyou Grannynanny. It is difficult as he is in denial about his diagnosis and his deafness. We have been married 51 years and I love him dearly but I am slowly losing him! and feel myself beginning to disengage from him and think I am not as nice as I thought I was!! I should be more understanding but it is so distressing when my reliable man is at times unreasonable and irrational. Feeling sad just now , apologies for off loading on New Years Eve! I appreciate your kind response. A new year now and I will endeavour to make 2026 good one .
Happy new year to all. I am not alone but my husbands Alzheimers often often makes me feel lonely . He is still ok for some of the time but his short term memory is very poor. Earlier our cat was asking to go out , I reminded him she should stay inside because of the fire works. DH said he would put her into the utility room where she sleeps. He called her and she followed him . He came back into the sitting room 2 minutes later saying " she asked to go out so I opened the door " He had completely forgotten within the space of 2 minutes!! Fortunately I managed to call her in , but it was more good luck than good management! Stuff like this happens every day and is making daily life very complicated!! I wish you all a very happy 2026 and thinking of those who are sad or worried.
Happy New Year Gransnetters. I hope 2026 is a good one for you all. I hope all your difficulties disappear or improve. Thanks for all the support and fun.
