Been awake since 3.00. Can’t get back to sleep, worries going through head etc

I was awake at 3 but for once doing an alphabet animal list worked. I also list flowers, trees and countries and capitals on occasion sometimes it works sometimes not.

There's a thread for the 3am wakers where you may get more people chatting in the wee hours -

I get up and start dealing with the worries when this happens to me.

This was in the newspaper recently. I think anything is worth trying. If something worrying is on your mind, with your index finger, starting at the top of your nose between your eyebrows, but not touching your face draw infinity symbol around your eyes, each circle being aprox saucer size. I usually do four to six complete symbols. Good luck.

Could be the full moon.

I was awake this morning at 2.00am. I just couldn't stop worrying about things which might never happen. Think I went back to sleep at about 4.00 but not sure. Feel totally wrung out today.

Tanith I have similar alphabet strategies!
girls/boys names. Place names UK/ Scotland/ Yorkshire. They work well… that is except for the nights when they don’t!! 🤷‍♀️

This is turning into content for Fawlty Towers......open spaces, closed spaces...!!!
I do the alphabet list too - first names you don't hear any more, countries, capitals NATO alphabet, trees, flowers, alphabet backwards. Something usually works

I am usually awake from 3-5 am, after which it hardly seems worth going back to sleep. I have resolved to make use of the time instead of frittering it away on my phone by doing something quiet but useful like filing the papers which have accumulated on my desk, or sewing or ironing. I haven't actually managed to do that yet, but as it's still early in the New Year I could try this as a NY resolution. Watch this space!
