Window vacuums

Window vacuums are amazing! You can clean windows, mop up spills, clear shower spills. What is not to love!
Perhaps I should admit that my husband bought it and I sneered and jeered! Now a total convert..

Another convert. Mine is only a cheapo from a budget supermarket, but for the first time in my life I have streak free windows in seconds.

After asking advice from fellow GNetters we bought a Karsher window vacuum/cleaner.

Do they work on a car windscreen? I've never actually seen one so don't even know if it would fit.

I’ve had mine a few years and it’s great for clearing condensation from the windows as well as cleaning them. I also use it on the shower screen and tiles. Mine is a Tower brand and currently £24.99 on Amazon.

Unfortunately due to its shape and size
Luckygirl3 it doesn’t fit at a manageable angle to use on the inside of the car windscreen but could be used on the other car windows . My air con is broken and condensation is a problem inside the car windows. I’ve tried and failed to use the window vac to clear the inside of the windscreen.

I also have a Karcher, works well, I’d recommend it.

Car windscreen should not need it Luckygirl if you use air con on screen for a few minutes when you get in. I have a very old car and my screens clear very quickly.

They are also brilliant for cleaning mirrors.

Funnily my OH was saying last week that it's a shame you cannot do the car windows with them Luckygirl13, wrong shape and the "blade" a bit too big. Maybe an idea for someone, make a smaller model!

Our car takes an age to clear, even with the moisture catching pack in there. My sons car takes no time at all. Both the same age but different makers.

Re condensation in cars. I have 2 car dehumidifier pads which I alternate and leave on the dashboard. When I swap over I dry out the pad on the storage heater overnight. Keeps car interior and windows completely dry.

Like others here, we have a Karcher. Basic model but does a good job! Definitely worth it - great to use in bathroom after showering and also good on bathroom mirror. And all around the house! Easy to use and it's rechargeable - no leads.

I also have dehumidifier pads for the car windows recommended by my DIL. They work a treat.

I would recommend you get one.

Have had good double glazing for years and have never had condensation inside

I love my Karcher! It's ridiculously satisfying to remove condensation in one swipe. It used to be a faff wiping down our bay window every morning with cloths and kitchen towels.
I bought he basic model during an Amazon promotion.

I've had a Karcher window wiper (two blades) for years. Used it initially but then it was stuck in the garage as found it heavy, bulky and a pest having to ensure it was charged up. I use window wiper blades, two sizes, and find them much easier to manoeuvre on the windows. For the shower I use an Oxo icing blade (just like a wiper blade) with sucker that sticks on the inside of shower screen door. Never figured out if Karcher could be stored in damp atmosphere and didn't relish coming out of shower to get the equipment then back in to clean screens.

I have the Karcher with two sizes of blade. Fantastic!! Highly recommend.

We had a Karcher one for years but had trouble finding a replacement charger. We then purchased a much cheaper one from Amazon and it's just as good if not better 🙂

My double glazed windows don’t have condensation but they have air vents at the top which can be opened slightly which improves air circulation. Condensation occurs because humidity levels in the house are raised and there is no air exchange. It’s a bit chilly to open windows in the freezing cold.

We have the air vents open, and one window on the latch overnight - past two houses we’ve had condensation. Not as much in this house though, which is a new build. Last house had triple glazing. The Karcher was brilliant in the last house - not sure where it’s gone since we moved, so I just dry it up with a cloth!

Used my Karcher initially too but went back to ‘normal’ window cleaning - thought it was just me.
Maybe it’d be worth getting a cheaper version if you’re not sure.
