I love a meet cute story/rom com.
LONG time single.
Had a 'moment' with a man yesterday. He's a local delivery driver. Third time he's delivered to me. First time (3 months ago maybe) he was blown away by the view where I live, he's never seen it, even though he only lives 2 streets away. I asked him inside that first time to see the view properly. My god, that sounds nuts when I type it, but I am extremely risk averse and judgy and I got nothing but good vibes from this man. He was in my living room for all of 10 seconds. 2nd time (pre xmas) he was all smiley there was a bit of chit chat about snow and views and wildlife. 3rd, yesterday I opened the door to him saying he was hoping he'd get a delivery for me 'that fantastic lady'. He is extremely good looking, and I rarely see men I find attractive.
What should I order next?

I hope this man turns out to be as interested in you as you are in him but as others have said use caution and find out a bit more about him.
Good luck 🤞

A bit of digging first. Ask questions like, Have you and your wife lived in this area long? Have you got children?
All of my grocery delivery drivers are really friendly and chatty but I don't assume they fancy me. Friendly and just that.
He's probably just a friendly, chatty man.
But who knows? Questions first.

Whatever you do be careful. Inviting a delivery man - albeit a local one - into your home to see the view sounds reckless. Getting good vibes doesn’t mean he is a good person. If you see him again why not ask if you can meet in a public place, a restaurant etc., courting danger might sound sexy but can end badly. You already know this. So keep it in mind.

I never liked beards but when I met DP he had a short well kept beard so I became a convert. He shaved it off a year later and instantly looked younger and never went back to a beard.

There’s no evidence that the guy in question is younger than the OP.

Yes, his grey beard implies we are of a similar age

Enjoy the thrill while it lasts. He may be married and used to chatting up the ladies. He's paid you a few compliments, that's all.
He may be gay and just a nice person doing his job.
He may be a predator and you are letting him in.
He may be a widower and lonely and just enjoy the banter.
He may be the love of your life and be thinking about you all the time and bring you chocolates next time before inviting you to the pub where he just talks to his mates.
Enjoy which ever fantasy you like but for now he probably hates his job and you're are a nice diversion.

Guessing maybe the words "judgy" and "good vibes" being used are being translated as "poster is in a younger agegroup".

I like to keep up-to-date with the language I use too - but....errrm....these days have to remind myself that it's even the case that men can show interest in a woman for the wrong reasons (ie they're better-off than them).

Sad - when things have been rather different when younger. Those were the days when I remember using a phrase about men at one point of "I've got one in hand (ie a boyfriend) and several on the waiting list" - as I didn't usually double-up and have two boyfriends at once.

Very sad - but unfortunately true - I guess that any younger man "showing interest" is probably either a. More interested in her financial stability than in her or b. Being deliberately nice to what he sees as an "older woman living on her own - so let's try and cheer her up a bit".

Such snotty, nasty comments! What's wrong with a bit of dreaming about about the possibility of romance whatever age you are?

It could be worth finding out dkdd so often in life we miss out through not being willing to take a chance.

Thanks to the last 2 posters (ignoring the one that's been deleted, which thankfully I didn't see). I felt a bit giddy and wanted to post anonymously somewhere. Who knows what, if anything, will happen next.

Chance meetings can be lucky romantic ones, for anyone single then go for it as happiness can be found at any age.❤️

Oh, I'm confused by these replies. I'm 50+ and so is he?

In that case by your age you ought to have learned better. I think this is more meat cute than meet cute.

How rude

Enjoy the view from outside and keep it short to a couple of seconds. It's like being in an art gallery, enjoy the painting, and move on down the gallery. At least it puts a smile on your face. I was behind a young 'gent' in the chemist and at 70 thought wow! He was everything I would have flirted with at 27 and I just walked out of the chemist shop smiling from ear to ear, a spring in my step and a trip down memory lane.

Or a hopeful delivery driver 🤣

My guess is yes, a teenage male who fancies he is in Maggie`May territory.
