Good morning all from the Black country, haven't looked out yet so don't know what the weather is doing.
I think the plan today is to take fishing trophies for engraving, now there is no longer a presentation there was no rush before Christmas.
Have another bag for the charity shop but I really do need to be more ruthless I have clothes I haven't worn for years but keep just in case.

Good morning from the Essex coast. I think it is due to rain today but a lot milder than of late.
I saw a doctor yesterday and I have a chest infection, probably a flare up of my Bronchiecstasis. This hasn't happened for years. I have antibiotics and a short course of steroids to take. I hope they work quickly as I'm so fed up with coughing.
Club admin to sort today and another day indoors to rest.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex, where it’s a mild 8 degrees according to the garden thermometer. It looks damp out and a wet day is forecast. I went to the garden centre yesterday and bought enough birthday cards for the next few weeks birthdays. Then took the car for a longer run home as I hadn’t used it over the cold spell and I thought it needed warming up properly. My back wasn’t happy about the driving but I did manage a walk to post some letters in the afternoon.
grandmattie I hope that the plasterer turns up today and also that the temporary manager is effective in getting things done.

Today I may go for a walk if it’s not raining too hard, but really need to get the duster out of its hiding place and use it!

Good morning from damp Wiltshire.

School pickup yesterday. The GC’s were great until they had their dinner when a massive fight erupted over who had which pattern on the smoothie cartons. 🤷‍♀️ GS2 started screaming so loudly it was physically painful to everyone’s ears. DH confiscated his carton and he then started crying for ages and wouldn’t stop. After dinner they were ok until they went home. I’m getting to the point when I’m starting to dread them coming here. GD3 has always been absolutely fine on her own. They used to come separately but now both are together since GS2 started school. He keeps getting excellent stickers at school so he can’t be displaying this behaviour there. It’s the same situation for the other GPs too. They are hardly ever told off at home.

GP appointment this afternoon for a recurring uticatia type rash on my left upper thigh and hip area. I last had it in June last year. I’ve had to cancel a pre-op assessment this morning for my hip replacement as they won’t touch it with this rash. It’s taken 3 weeks to get a GP appointment. Feeling fed up.

Good morning from a mild, dark, drizzly Cornwall which feels gentle after the drama of last week, although trees are undermined and still quietly tumbling over. Sad that someone lost his life in a caravan under a large tree. Yesterday I saw a beautiful townhouse with a huge tree across it and some of the roof missing.

My first ever visit to a Waitrose yesterday, a faff to get to but I was on an errand for someone. It didn't seem that different from Asda except for the frozen clams. 😄

A new community group started in my Lego library yesterday; some very useful conversation about art hubs which I'll investigate. This evening I start my jewellery/silversmithing course at a college two bus rides away. I'll be home by 10.30 or 11.30, depending on how quickly I can get to the bus stop afterwards as the campus is huge. An adventure and I've sorely lacked adventure this last year so I'm excited, especially as I'll be learning something I know nothing about.

Good Morning everyone from the central south coast. Heavy rain forecast from 9am but very mild 10 degrees. Very pleased about that!

"Exciting" trip out for us today as we have a tip slot between 9 and 9.30, then need to get petrol, call in the big supermarket for some bits. Finally wend our way home via the library where a reserved book awaits me.

Had a shock start to yesterday when I got an email from my niece to say that my solder sister (92) was in hospital after she had a bad fall in her flat. She had been bending down to pick up her post from the front door and collapsed. Fortunately she could reach the assistance button with her stick and summonsed help.

Paramedics turned up fairly quickly ( this is on the Isle of Man where services still seem to work as they should) but she was incoherent and her blood pressure was extremely low so they took her to hospital. Turns out that she had not had a stroke or heart attack or broken any bones but was badly bruised to the extent that all her left side was black and she could not breath or move easily. So yesterday was a series of updates and eventually the consultant decided that her BP was the cause of her fall and she began to improve with treatment. She was moved to the rehab ward last night so we will see what happens today.

The journey to see her is impossible for me at present with my two injuries still inhibiting my own movement but my family on the Island will keep me posted. Just hope she improves enough to allow her back to her flat.

What did I say in my post yesterday? Always something for somebody - little did I know what news was about to hit me!

I am in school pick up (The Imp) and swimming this afternoon. I intend to clear at least one of my wardrobes, I have far too many pairs of jeans and definitely too many jumpers ( it going front the bag, shoe and boot road, more is more 🙀)

Good morning from Malta where it is 6°C at present but we are promised a sunny day with a high of 17°C.

I enjoyed having Milo dog yesterday and we went for a brisk walk due to the rather strong, cold wind. He’s only a little dog but he can trot along at quite a pace!

Today is DD1’s birthday, not sure how 44 years have gone so fast but I remember every detail of the day I became a mum. I never imagined my little baby would grow up to fly quite so far from the nest as she has, having lived almost half her life in the US.

Not much on today apart from an appointment with the Notary as my UK bank wants proof of who I am. I have already done this but I suppose I should be glad they are trying to keep my account secure.

So sorry your eye exam wasn’t good, Grandmabatty. You are having a rough time of it lately. Your boys sound so lovely, I’m not surprised the little one has learned his brother’s poem! They are like sponges at that age, absorbing so much information.

Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire.

My body has rebelled against the delicious stir fry I made for dinner last night resulting in very little sleep as I had to deal with medical appliance failures throughout the night. I am usually very wary of vegetables but haven’t had any issues for a little while so threw caution to the wind. That’ll teach me.

I’ve a nail appointment this morning followed by my shift in the charity shop. DH is leaving shortly to help DS with some decorating so I’ll be walking there and back which will do me good I’m sure. I’ve become rather idle over the winter.

It feels quite mild, I’ve turned the heating off .

I’m getting up now to do some yoga, I’ve had sciatica for 6 months. I couldn’t walk at first it was so painful. It’s so much better now but I can tell if I’ve not done any stretching.

A general day of pottering. I am having my hair cut though. My daughter is a hairdresser so I get it done free. A suitable reward for giving her life I think!

Good morning, a wet start here in south Glos but at least it’s relatively warmer.
I filled a bag for the charity collection yesterday, a good start but I really should get rid of much more.
Thanks to a non functioning toilet yesterday (DH not me!) I had to drive to the village to use the public toilets. I took tiddler with me and we had a lovely wander along the lanes. I was surprised at how warm it felt despite no sunshine, a really pleasant temperature. Then I came back and took bigger dog out so that was pretty much the whole morning gone.
I walked both dogs again in the afternoon, a shorter one, I do love them dearly, such a funny pair.
Today I’ll take tiddler out early, dog walker for bigger dog and then I have a zoom art class for a couple of hours.
Arty stuff today I think!

Good morning Mick and all GN's on a chilly but as far as I can tell not frosty or snowy morning in North Yorkshire. The lighter mornings cant come soon enough for me. Another rubbish night and seem to be starting a cold to add to the usual problems. Not surprised, constant lack of sleep is very debilitating, and can only wait for that "zonk out" when I am so tired I do just sleep for a long time.

Yesterday was meant to visit a friend in the afternoon, and they rang to say they were not feeling so good , so that was cancelled and not sure about today either , if I feel I might take extra germs over. I had been ready to go out and so then the change of plan meant that I went back to sorting rubbish out in the afternoon.

I had been to the course in the morning, and Nichola was very organised and had made up crib sheets for both Iphone and Samsung etc etc., so that we all had the right information for our specific phones. The class had settled down a little as I predicted, but there was one woman who was a major disrupter. She has had a phone already, but is not at all clear about how to use it efficiently or well, yet keeps telling another person what to do with their phone, sometimes giving totally the wrong information and at other times she is talking over the instructors explanations etc. At one point I said in a slightly raised voice, " I am sorry Nichola , I did not hear what you said, as someone was talking over you" turning my head and looking directly at the woman, who still continued to speak to another person!! Nichola had to ask for everyone to concentrate on what she was explaining, as it was regarding controls which were important for all the different phones. If this woman continues in this manner I can see that she will not learn much about how to run her phone efficiently. That is her choice but irritating if she is causing disruption for the rest of us! Anyway I have enough homework to do on my own phone for the week and will try and do some every day. Much better than trying to cram things in on one day.

Today I need a bit of shopping but other than that not made up my mind as to what I shall do. Perhaps a cup of coffee and Bach before 7 will give me some inspiration. Definitely nothing needing a lot of energy or organisation for sure!

Fingers crossed GrandMattie that the new manager is well qualified in their field but is also prepared to LISTEN to your needs and take notice and get on with it instead of putting things off. Hope for great improvement for you all. Greyduster good luck with your new garage. It is always a gamble but if it turns out well you will be better off in the future wont you.

Yesterday wasn't good news at the eye check up. My eyesight is deteriorating (diabetic retinopathy) and an appointment will come with the hospital team. I half suspected it. I went home and had a nap after my bad night and felt better for it. I did an hour in the school library in the afternoon before picking up the boys. Both boys were in good spirits. Dgs1 was reciting his Scottish poem he has to learn and dgs2 joined in! He has listened to his brother and learned it by osmosis, it seems. He also decided to draw numbers and got them mostly right.
I had a much better sleep last night with only one trip to the loo. Therefore I'm feeling better. Today will be quieter once I've deposited the boys. I shall be pottering around the house till pick up time. Dinner will be gammon.
I hope Ashcombe and her husband are feeling better.

Good morning from s somerset, rain and dark skies all day today

At long last, my new sourdough starter is showing some muscle and has started to climb up the container. It has taken about a month to make him this powerful. Today then I will begin a sourdough loaf with timings to include an overnight stay in the fridge and actual oven bake tomorrow morning. I have written the plan and stages down so I can replicate or adjust in the future. This is quite a milestone and needed a lot of patience but that is sourdough, its slow

Lovely, no appointments at all this week, ocado came yesterday so no need to shop. I love this type of week and am entirely at my own disposal, to do exactly what I want when I want. I have a raft of things I can do ranging from de-cluttering, to baking, to tidying, to going out, to hobbies

I am getting used to my new bed arrangement, a slope and it has helped to stop the silent gerd, which had been waking me. I am sleeping much better. I have a bed wedge which was wrapped and under another bed, a tiny cushion/pillow from temu and kept for `just in case` and a pillow under my knees which stops me slipping down the slope. I am so comfortable in bed now

I am not going to waste my week and did a bit of tidying away last night, just putting interchangeable needles back into cases and some books away, my coffee table is now almost empty. I feel quite energised this morning so will do any `work` first and may well do a walk if the rain goes off. I slow down after lunch

Good morning from a balmy Kent - ten degrees today! It was the same yesterday. I had wrapped up warm for my morning walk yesterday without checking the forecast. By the end of the walk I was sweating.
As it's going to be warm today the plan is to venture into the gym. I need to lose a a stone and a half to get down to the healthy weight as calculated by the NHS body mass index calculator.
I'm very grateful I don't have any of the horrible viruses that are going around at the moment.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is dark but mild. It’s going to be a wet day I think. Awake at four and couldn’t drop off again as tinnitus is plaguing me.

Yesterday was gym, some cooking when I got home and then sorting out my car file, cancelling a service appointment with the dealership and making one with a garage that my son in law uses which is very reliable and is hopefully going to save me not a little money. If I have shot myself in the foot I will have no one to blame but myself.

School volunteer session this afternoon.

Good morning from a damp Bristol.
I had a peculiar night with very odd dreams, me telling myself that these things aren’t real. Not scary just odd.
Yesterday was ok. After Tesco (no lingering, yippee), I prepared for some baking in the afternoon.
I’m experimenting with not having a nap in the afternoon to see if it makes any dot the quantity and quality of sleep - to date, no effect.
Anyway,I made some gluten-free, 3 ingredient peanut butter cookies. They are very popular amongst all consumers. I can’t stand peanut butter, and the house still smells of it. Bleugh.
In the evening, I had a WI committee meeting. I don’t really know why they asked me to join, as I don’t belong to their social group, don’t go to skittles/pub, etc., and am the only one who is widowed. My only “qualification” is that I was a trustee in Kent and have that sort of experience - if they listened to me!
Tuesdays are usually empty, but today I’m supposed to have a plasterer repair damage caused by replacing the old night storage unit with a new smaller one in November.
We have been advised that, after 7 months without a manager, we are to have a temporary, agency manager for ??? months from Monday. A qualified hurrah.
