Little Treats that Make a Big Difference

I was in my local branch of Marks and Spencer this lunchtime and I saw that they had their £1 bunches of daffodils again. I bought two bunches, as I do weekly while they are in stock, and put them in a vase in my hall (pictured) where I enjoy them whenever I come home. Obviously, they are not fully open yet but it is such a pleasure to see them. I remarked to an assistant about how much I love daffodils as they are sign of hope of better things to come at this dark time of year. She replied that she really liked this view and that they had already sold 133 bunches that morning - clearly many others had had the same idea. I then wondered what little treats make a big difference to the lives of other Gransnetters.

I'm with you Musicgirl. Daffodils are such cheerful flowers, I often put some in my trolley when I'm out shopping. I also love freesias and tulips.

I bought 2 bunches in M&S yesterday, they are on my kitchen window sill - beautiful! Thanks for the photo, I love daffodils and glass paper weights!

My favourite flower and then tulips come second. So fresh after all the red and green of Christmas. Such a little treat. My bulbs in tubs in the garden will be peeping up soon and that will be a treat. Somewhere in a pot I have snowdrops. I must look for that tomorrow.

Another little treat I have just had is a tiny square Waitrose brownie sold in plastic tubs with a spoonful of Ambrosia ready made custard over the top and heated in the microwave for 20 secs.. Yummy.

I’m with you on loving daffodils and I also bought 2 bunches in M&S yesterday. I have a lovely blue vase that I always use for them. It’s a lovely reminder spring is on the way.

I love all your paperweights.

I actually have daffodils flowering on my allotment but I don't want to pick them because they look so pretty there.

Just love them. When you pop a little bunch in a jug and overnight one or two wake up to greet you the next morning.
Your collection looks so lovely Musicgirlsunshine

Someone bought me some tulips yesterday, they are so cheery. I used to buy flowers but got out of the habit, I need to start again.

I love daffs and also a cuppa with a chocolate digestive mid morning.

I bought two bunches of M&S daffs this week for a friend. None for me, even though I love them, because my cats eat them. 😩

OH bought me four bunches from Sainsburys. Just fit into the beautiful hand painted daffodil vase from Etsy son bought me. Love them. New ones tomorrow hopefully.

It's lovely to hear from how many others get as much happiness from daffodils as I do.

I love flowers in the entrance hall.
Musicgirl your entrance hall looks very much like mine.
Similar corner table and similar doily - only difference is, still have my poinsettia on there

I always have flowers in the house but daffodils are so lovely and cheerful that I see those a treat.

My treat is a dark chocolate ginger biscuit after my salad sandwich at lunchtime. My favourite brand is Border Dark Chocolate Ginger biscuits. I nibble one practically crumb by crumb to make it last! It’s the only sweet thing I have all day.
