Good Morning Friday 23rd January 2026
(48 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start here in Brackley this morning.
Up to the usual routine ,after Breakfast usual bus journey to Bicester which goes down the A43 dual carriageways a busy link which connects the M1 at 15a to Junction 10 of the M40 ,its surprising the various types of transport that use it.
Health OK,
Take Care,
Mick
Stillearning His words were appalling. You must be justly proud of your daughter, in charge of Intensive Care in Afghanistan, she, and so many others showing such bravery in a dreadful situation. 💐
Beautiful bracelet, Blossoming 🥰
Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire. Quite a change from yesterday.
MrB and I enjoyed a circular walk around the Dock this morning. Yesterday afternoon I felt the need to create something, so I got some of my jewellery tools out and made a polished hardwood and silver bracelet. It came out pretty good, though I do say so myself!
Best wishes to all who are struggling with life at the moment.
Wishing you all a good day, whatever you’re doing.
Good Morning from a damp Co Armagh
I’m expecting daughter and granddaughter to visit from Edinburgh, I hope the weather doesn’t affect their journey , it is lovely to see them
I finished the crochet blanket , so glad it’s done , my neck isn’t fond of me crocheting and my left hand is numb , I got it thawed out a bit but a wrong move and I’m back at no feeling , it will be ok , but very annoying at the timing
I miss my Friday painting class , I’m too lazy to paint on my own , I hope I can join after Easter
I don’t post often , nothing interesting to say every day , but I do enjoy following your bizzyness , so many brave soldiers not giving in to illness or other trials
, this week I miss posters , a bit like an egg without salt , here’s hoping next week is a new start and a return of missing posters
I’ll go and do some more gentle neck exercises , I’d be back to bed , but I don’t want to miss my visitors
Hoping a good day is had by all 💐
Good morning from South Lanarkshire, I’m so annoyed and in fact upset this morning about the crass ignorance of the president of America, I am going to (try) to add a picture of my DD3 when she was in charge of the intensive care ward in Afghanistan, from which she returned after her second tour of duty with nightmares that lasted for months.
Have cropped the picture so no colleagues showing.
Good wishes to all x
A later Good Morning from Stockport today.
I had a decent night’s sleep so didn’t wake up until 8:30.
I have fetched a tray of tea up to enjoy in bed, my GD and her BF are working from home so I keep out of their way on Friday.
They are finishing early and driving to Cardiff for the weekend so it will be quieter although two GS’s will be here, however as long as they have technology to help they are no trouble.
It is dry here so far but rain is forecast.
Very little happening as usual but as least mine is voluntary unlike poor Jaxjacky who is confined to home again, I do feel sad for you, just a slip on wet leaves and life changes in an instant.
I hope you all have a day to cheer you.
ROMILO
Good morning everyone. Can anyone tell me why when zi try today's wordle puzzle it says access denied ?
Try posting your query on the Wordle thread? I did Wordle ok today.
A late good morning from a dull but dry Suffolk where both DH and I slept unusually til nearly 9am. Just as well neither of us have anything we have to do this morning, apart from a dog walk.
I’m meeting a friend for lunch in a local small town where there is an excellent cafe where,as well as delicious lunches, there is always a selection of yummy cakes. K and I usually take a huge piece home for our DHs,compensation for not having lunch there.
We seem to be missing most of the heavy rain forecast for the other side of the country. I hope no one is too inconvenienced by this ongoing wet and gloomy weather.
Good morning Mick and everyone.
I'm feeling very grotty. It's just a bad cold but we all know how colds make us feel 😔.
Thinking of all who are finding life an uphill struggle. FGT Mdol
Good morning everyone. Can anyone tell me why when zi try today's wordle puzzle it says access denied ?
Good morning all from a dull Black country.
Just a local shop calling at the charity shop with another bag of bits and bobs no longer of use to myself but hopefully someone else can enjoy them.
Over to the club tonight meet up with friends and renew membership, having been members for over 30yrs we no longer have any subs to pay just renewal.
Have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans ☀️.
Jax I am so glad you are home and really hope things improve 🙏🏻
Morning all, I did get home yesterday, back to a rather tedious regime, my world has shrunk.
Good morning from Sunnyside northwest coast. An at home day yesterday, housework, new music to look at etc.
I’ve had a broken night, reading late, then the cat had me up and down. Did she want to go out? More food? All a mystery.
Anyway off to art group soon, shopping and DS arriving later on his motorbike (wish he would get a car…) I have a few jobs for him and he sends all his parcels here as I have an open porch, just right for deliveries.
Thoughts to all🌺
Good morning from a grey and rainy NE.
I am having lunch with my friend today, her DH drops us off at the restaurant and collects us afterwards.
Yesterday's shopping trip was successful, got everything I need for another week.
Stay warm and dry.
Good morning. Another wet and dreary start here in N. Bucks.
DGS2s birthday today and he reaches double digits , we popped in to see him yesterday as today he is singing in the Young Voices choir at the O2. He is very excited.
A bits and pieces morning for me and the we’ll be collecting DGS 3 from school and staying with him until his Mummy and Daddy get home from the choir concert.
Wishing all a good day..
Good morning all.
We’re in for more rain here in Essex.
Not much on today , we won’t meet our Friday pals this week but have had phone calls to catch-up on all the news.
A nice cosy day indoors today. A bit of housework, maybe more de-cluttering and hopefully finishing my book.
We’ll fit in a different walk inbetween showers.
I hope your headache eases GG.
Cramp is horrid Sar . Hope you get the phones sorted 🤞.
Hoping you all have a pleasant day.
Good morning everyone from a gloomy damp East Coast.
Child care is finished for me this week. I love Fridays but when Saturday comes I always think it’s Sunday with the weekend starting on a Friday for us now. GS had a better week at school with no reports of distress but Thursdays are always easier as he rushes into the car as he knows there is his favourite cake in the oven waiting for him.
I’m going over to Mums at lunchtime I will pick something up for myself from Pret. After an hour and a half she’s ready to have a nap so I leave. I’ll pick up a new top from Next i ordered which I thought would go nice with my comfy trousers for the long flight to China which we booked yesterday finally. Going business class as we do to China I always dress up a bit but still go comfy. Air China business class is very reasonable and we are too old and creaky to squash into economy now on long haul.
Son and daughter in law are thinking of where and what we can do when we are there.
DH is going out with his pal tonight for dinner so I’m contemplating either a Thai, Chinese or Indian takeaway. A Chinese near us does really good gluten free food but you have to wait ages as they are so popular.
Wishing a lovely day to everone. Best wishes to those celebrating and virtual hugs to anyone hurting or sad. Wishing everyone moments of joy today. 🌼
Good morning from Durham.
It sounds quite windy and wild out there so other than collecting euros for our next trip we will not be venturing far.
DH is still barking and has been given stronger antibiotics. I'm still determined to fight this nasty cold off on my own. I'm slowly getting there!
Wreaths were collected from the cemetery on Wednesday and now await my dismantling, a job I dislike, but I normally recycle the rings. They lasted really well which pleased me. I was glad to see my sister's grave also had a wreath from her husband of 35 years ago, he later remarried and sadly lost that wife too. It was nice to see my DS had been remembered.
I have such lovely memories of her as we were like best friends growing up together. A life lost too soon.
Two bedrooms cleaned and tidied yesterday, two more togo. Some adult Lego building this afternoon, a Christmas gift form DH, Enough to keep me busy.
Wishing all the best day possible.
Good morning from Shropshire.Another rainy day forecast.
I enjoyed my day at home yesterday.I spent the morning doing the usual house stuff then the afternoon reading. We managed to walk DD’s dog between the showers.
Today we need to go to mum’s house then we will visit her in the care home.A lot of driving. As we will have the dog with us we will take a picnic.DD said to leave the dog at home but happy to take her with us today as the residents in the home love her.
Thinking of all our mountaineers and all our absent friends💐
Wishing everyone the best day possible🦩🌻
Good morning all from a dry North Leicestershire.
I had a rotten day yesterday culminating in a nose bleed in bed. I have been taking blood thinners since my op. The quilt used to be white.
A quiet day ahead here - just a trip to the butcher and the pet shop. This afternoon I have a pedicure booked.
Have the best day possible all.
Good morning everyone from another grey and damp day in Northampton. Yesterday was very dull indeed with a chilly wind, and thank goodness it had stopped raining by the time I came out of the hairdressers.
Took yesterday morning easy as I felt a bit fragile from my wine group evening on Wednesday... Then hairdressers after lunch, like Bellasnana having my roots done, then a cut and style. Managed to read quite a bit of my latest book while the colour took.
Dance classes this morning, maybe a coffee afterwards at the bakery over the road.
Chicken curry for dinner tonight.
And it's the Traitors final! I think Rachel may be out of it.
Wishing all a pleasant day.
Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
I have the first of several funerals today. J died before Christmas but Christmas and the New Year delayed things. There is a do afterwards which I may or may not go to. If I do I will probably drive as my toe is still a little painful. The church is walking distance, just five minutes.
I spent most of yesterday curled up on the sofa. I restarted some drops I had been using for blepharitis and think I must be allergic to something in them. My eyes were so sore and I felt a little under the weather too. As the day wore on I perked up a bit and listened to two of the three V&A lectures on the Renaissance.
Have a good day. I’m thinking of MD and the FGT2S, 🌹
