How frustrating that we need to look at the small print ....

You still need to check the small print.

Sainsbury’s are advertising Gala apples under British produce.

Look a bit further, under Country of Origin and it says:

Grown in Chile, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, United Kingdom.

Sainsbury’s Carrots:

Grown in France, Ireland, Spain, United Kingdom.

Sainsbury’s British White Potatoes:

Grown in Egypt, Ireland, United Kingdom

Thank you for that Luckygirl. We have deliveries from Tesco. I will look out for British.

Good idea. Looks like the Canadians are doing a good job buying their own local products and services.

I really feel this is so important now for political and environmental reasons.

Did you know that both Tesco online and Sainsburys online have British sections? It is somewhat tedious that they are so well hidden but if you enter buy British into the search box it all comes up. I would like to think they could have a dedicated section in the navigation bar and can't think why they do not.

There is lots of produce available, mainly meat and dairy, but also fruit and veg.
