A hug for you FGT X
Brave maybe
But tonight I just miss my darling man so very much. x
Good evening folks. You are brave tackling the Trafford Centre FGT2, well done! It was sunny here first thing, we had a lovely time in Lytham despite the freezing cold wind. Stopped at the butchers to collect our weekly order. Had a lovely hotpot tonight, very sleepy now. TOYA xx
Well done fgt for braving the Trafford Centre on your own. Another hurdle cleared!
grandmabatty a well deserved glass of wine!
jaxjacky a nice day for a short walk, I hope you enjoyed it.
Sending best wishes to those in the quiet corner, and special wishes to soop & her DH.
‘Evening All’
I went to the salon this morning for brow tint (fine) and eyelash curl and tint (hardly noticeable with my sparse lashes) so to me, not worth the £60 I spent ~ when pretty much a bit of eyebrow brown gel and a couple of coats of a decent mascara achieve much the same result. Oh well, lesson learned.
I then took myself off to the Trafford Centre by bus (3 sets of traffic lights away). I could’ve walked it, half an hour but it was decidedly chilly, so I got the bus.
Of course I’ve been there on my own loads of times but this afternoon seemed much more poignant. Himself is no longer waiting for me at home. Plus, walking around I had so many of the “oh we used to sit there to enjoy a coffee/wine” memories. It was a bit of a hurdle to be honest, but I did it. 💪
Im just home after being out most of the day, a busy day spent at the gym and volunteering. DH is being a star and making dinner whilst I’m here on the sofa catching up. It’ll probably be an early night later 😴
Grannmarie a difficult time ahead, I’ll be thinking of you ❤️
Grandmabatty hope you find a suitable new car without any hassle
I hope the stronger painkillers start working dragonfly and that things start improving very soon, sending a gentle hug
Well done with the walking Jax
Thinking of all our friends in the quiet corner, especially Soop, hope she’s doing ok and take care all
Jaxjacky, the boys are duly delivered home and I'm about to have a glass of wine 😄
yiayia mixed news for your DH, fingers crossed the repeat blood tests don’t show anything sinister.
dragonfly I hope you are more comfortable tomorrow, I hope the painkillers prescribed by your doctor will take effect soon.
grannmarie the support of your family will be a comfort to you in the next few days or weeks. The first anniversaries are always the worst, thinking of you.
A lovely sunny afternoon here, but as I was visiting my dementia friend I didn’t enjoy the sun! My friend has a nasty cough, but was asleep for most of the afternoon. I’m hoping that her DH will cut my grass for me within the next few days, otherwise I’ll have to attack it myself! There’s a fine crop of poppy seedlings amongst the grass, but I’ll probably leave them until they’ve finished flowering, then hope to cut them down before they set seed again. I need to get several borage plants out of the front garden, visitors from next door, and I don’t want them spreading everywhere. I have to be careful how I dig, I don’t want to upset my back too much.
Enjoy the rest of the day everyone.
dragonfly wishing you a swift recovery.
Granmarie the last year has flown by 🌸
Yiayia and DH mixed news 🌼
That’s great news Yiayia you both must be so relieved.
Each anniversary is difficult isn’t it Grannmarie
I have spent the day in bed as it is the only place I am not in pain. Hoping for some improvement tomorrow as it is excruciating.
Thinking of all the other poorly grans.
Not counting at all Grandmabatty 🤣
Positive news Yia good your mini procedure worked well.
A poignant time ahead Grannmarie 🥀
Out for a short walk today, pleasant with the sun out, chilly as it went in, we’ve been watching Cheltenham, a number of MrJ’s family are there.
He cut the grass, then washed my grubby car!
Have a good evening all, particularly those in the quiet corner with our much missed soop.
DH has taken The Imp to his swimming lesson, I am listening to Sara Cox (Radio 2)
Thinking of all our poorly kitchen pals, especially our dear soop
Good afternoon kitchen folk. yiayia mixed news for you both. grannmarie🌹
Today I was a domestic goddess. Did a wash and dried it, hoovered throughout, cleaned the bathroom, emptied, loaded and ran the dishwasher and made 2 chicken pies as well as tidying away all the toys from before school. Phew. I'm going to have to buy a new car as there's so many things going wrong with my existing motor. Today the locking mechanism started acting up, the screenwash won't work and my exhaust sounds ropey. So tomorrow I need to start looking at new cars.
The boys have been good. They sent ds(uncle) a video before school this morning. He returned the favour by sending them one from Cannes this afternoon. Dgs2 is sitting beside me while dgs1 plays football in the hall. 29 minutes and I'll take them home and relax. Take care everyone
Thank you, YiaYia.
I’m sure that first anniversary won’t be easy Grannmarie but lovely you will have family to support you.
Good afternoon, lovely Kitchen people. 🥰
Good news, for both you and your husband, YiaYia, glad to hear it.
Hello 👋 Dusty, good to see you, I understand completely about being suddenly ' ambushed ' by a reminder that your loved one has gone. Take care.💐
Thinking of you, your DH and family, SueD. Try to look after yourself too, accept all offers of help and support.
Good news, Blossoming, enjoy your outings. You have lovely surroundings for your walks.
Glad to hear that you're getting things done in your garden, brook. You seem to have drier weather than me!
I remember when my GS1 and GD got to the winding each other up stage, Grandmabatty, tricky times! I'll nominate you for the Novel peace prize!!
Sounds like you are making very good progress, Jaxjacky. Your patience will be rewarded and your MrJ is a ⭐.
Good to hear from you, Neine, I'm glad to hear that your DH'S new job has been a change for the better, and that he had time at home with you just when you and your wee dogs needed him. ♥️
FGT, you are doing really well, it's important to get out and about. I keep myself very busy, I find it helps to have a reason to get up and out. It's very early days for you, take it just one day at a time. Enjoy your children and grandchildren. ♥️
Belated March birthday greetings to all celebrating 🥳 🎉, I hope you enjoyed the cakes, fizz and family gatherings.
I'm thinking of all with illness, worries or sorrow. Please forgive me if I haven't mentioned you by name, but I'm reading all your posts and I'm sending love and prayers for all who need/wish them. I'm thinking especially of our Soops, hoping and praying that they are cosy and comfortable together. Also remembering all in our Quiet Corner, I'll be joining you there soon. 🙏🕯️♥️
I'm just catching up on all your news, I'm having a very busy spell sorting house and garden ahead of our Australian visitors at Easter. I let things slide last year after DH died, now I need to accept help from family and some professionals... Pressure washer man coming next week!
I'm also feeling a bit emotional at the approach of DH's first anniversary, planning a family lunch gathering to mark the occasion and support one another.
Wishing everyone a peaceful Tuesday, TOYA.
Afternoon Kitcheners. Our latest news,DH’s consultant rang this morning and it seems the thickening is just scaring from the operation(sighs of relief from us) however, he’s to have all his blood tests repeated as they are not as they should be.Always something but it will be sorted and worrying won’t help.
Good news Blossoming so pleased for you.
Also good news for your NH Neine and that he’s enjoying his new job.
We are always here to listen FGT that’s what Soops kitchen is about.
Its great being able to see so well although I’m beginning to think my cleaner is not as good as I thought.😀Should be back to driving next, week can’t wait.
Love to the Soops and hope they are warm and comfortable.
