This ghastly person and his gang seem to be everywhere in the news.
It's utterly depressing.

The main focus in America currently is on the Clintons MayBee70. They have now agreed to appear. A further request has also now been made for Andrew to appear, and also for the first time, for Mandelson to appear. There is a definite push for more release of papers, the redacted information is what will nail those who are currently still flying under the radar - the media there is hugely concerned about lawsuits, so they are being very cautious pending more information. This is definitely going to be going on for years.

The Epstein case has suddenly become far more serious with the revelations about Peter Mandelson's involvement, the documents revealing his leaking of sensitive cabinet information while he was Business Secretary and in effect Deputy Prime Minister to Gordon Brown. The personal emails between Mandelson and Epstein show what an unpleasant pair of people they were, both attempting to exploit the other.
Which raises the question again about Starmer's lack of judgement and disregard of advice to appoint him as Ambassador to America. Also his refusal to answer questions in Parliament about the situation.

I do wonder whether the release of the Epstein papers is calculated by the Trump administration to damage the UK and thereby draw attention away from US issues.

You have a point. Also if Trump can keep the focus on Andrew and Peter, it keeps it away from him.
Do we actually believe that any material harmful to Trump would be revealed?

Just what I’ve been thinking. Is the focus in America on Andrew and Mandelson though?

Well this is a no brainer, of course Mandelson should be stripped of his peerage, if the King has stripped his own brother of his titles surely this goes without saying.

Both of them deserve to be dealt with for their connections with JE, but KS has the tricky job of dealing with the plank in his own party eye. Much easier for him to deal with the speck in someone else’s family.

Sago I totally agree. Never thought Obama was linked to Epstein? Only names that constantly come up are Mr M-W and Mandelson what about Trump,Mr Squeeky Clean, and all the other high profile people..While the other two are in the mefia it's all deflecting away from Trump! The whole thing stinks!

Why are they just targeting Andrew? Yes silly and naive, but in a lot of company that we hear nothing of.
So far a photo of him that looks posed like any number of "fan with celebrity" ones out there. Then the latest that does not even look like him at all and whoever it is, he is doing nothing but looking to see if a passed out drunk is OK when clearly the photographer calls to get a response - set up or what?
Now they are going after the odious Mandelson. Strange that all this US based activity only involved Brits??

MaizieD Mon 02-Feb-26 23:35:47

Indeed. From the Reuters report

And finally, anything that depicts or contains images of death, physical abuse, or injury, also not produced.

I got it slightly wrong initially.

Allira, my first thought was she looked unconscious. sad

Wasn’t it said that photos of nakedness, injury or death hadn’t been released?

I suppose that comatose doesn’t fit any of those categories.

Every time they say "Epsteeen" I have to say "Epstine" like wot I was taught at school!

Parts of an interview with Jeffrey Epstein have been on TV and he pronounced his own name as “Epsteen”.

PM was cavorting ?

Am not entirely sure what he was doing Annie but I do like the word cavorting and it is perhaps a bit less repugnant than what he could have been getting up to.

Fallingstar Mon 02-Feb-26 22:53:34

Am not so sure the photos were taken to possibly blackmail people in high places, is possible, but unless these were hidden cameras, and I doubt it because Andrew is looking at the camera as if aware of it, who in their right mind would cavort around in their underwear near women in their dressing gowns or possibly less, or lurch over women lying on the floor??
It can only be because these men think they will never be held accountable for anything they do.

I was just giving my opinion.
I found the pictures of Andrew kneeling over the girl on the ground distasteful, and I’m sure that view is shared by many.

She is very still, as if she's comatose. It's very strange.

How dreadful this is for Beatrice and Eugenie.

Allira Mon 02-Feb-26 22:09:14

On Andrew MW, remember he was in the navy and at sea for much of the early years of his marriage, which rather reduces his capacity to play away during that time.
🤔 not so sure about that, M0nica.

Agreed, Casdon. Quite unnecessary.

Casdon Mon 02-Feb-26 21:20:06

That is a truly spiteful post, and nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein.

I was always dubious re Camilla’s amoral salacious brazeness and now we are aware that her close friend is Jilly Cooper - is it a case of ‘birds of a feather’

While today's news of Mandelson leaking information to bankers in New York, when he was a government minister is shocking enough, one thing about the Epstein crisis, is that, almost without exception, those involved are the usual suspects.

People, like the ex Duke of York and his ex wife, Peter Mandelson, Elon Musk, Donald Trump, Bill Clinton. People who already had bad reputations in their personal lives and were known to be less than scrupulous in their business lives.

Despite attempts to find dirt on Obama in these files, the findings are little or nothing. No other member of the Royal family, even those on the very edge have been involved.

On Andrew MW, remember he was in the navy and at sea for much of the early years of his marriage, which rather reduces his capacity to play away during that time.

One curious thing I noticed. When Robert Maxwell was in his heyday, working as a business economist, and with friends in publishing I used to watch and read about him. Seeing the film of Ghislaine Maxwell being interviewed I noticed that the way she conducted herself in those interviews, her bodt language and posture were just he same as her father's.
