I could almost have an atom a sympathy for Peter Mandelson - but, on balance, I won't.

His carefully assembled image of suave polish and sophistication has been blasted to bits by that photo unearthed in the Epstein files of him standing around in his underpants.

Whatever he's said or done in the years before, that pic will now define his entire career.

Every actìon, every word has a consequence. For sure.

Obama was never involved so why try to blacken his name? The others deserve all they get.

It’s a spiders web of very rich men who have no interest in the country’s that nurtured them and enabled them to either become wealthy or retain and increase their wealth. All they are interested in is wealth and the power to influence governments to their benefit.
There are a lot of dealings with Russia and Russian oligarchs in those papers.

My husband’s Aunt was employed in London ( not sure in what capacity) and was once ‘sent’ to a house - the front door of which was opened by Prince Philip - stark naked - none of these salacious shenanigans is new - but we must stop kowtowing to these entitled miscreants 👍☘️

Actually, being more serious, Mandelson apparently didn't realise that Epstein had paid $75,000 into his bank account.

According the Epstein indictment notice I posted above, the girls were paid in cash. I guess that would figure, he would not put them on a payroll unless they were part of the official machinery of his business. The way I understand it, most were brought in for short periods, not on a long term basis. It doesn’t bear thinking about.

The girls in Rochdale and other towns and cities were 'paid'. In drugs, alcohol, takeaways and sweets.

That probably represented a larger percentage of the abusers' income than whatever payoffs were given to the women and girls on Epstein's island. I can't see a moral difference.

We'll find out the details if and when whoever is sitting on the files releases them.

Many, if not all of the women described by eazybee’s taxi driver will have similar histories to the girls groomed and trafficked by Epstein. Introduced to sexual activity far too young, usually by an adult male known to them / their family.

I appreciated Allira’s comment, that her children went to state schools, thus avoiding their mother having to prostitute herself to pay school fees.

Monica is imo right about the dreadful Mandelson. The sleaze says he’s no memory of thousands of pounds paid into his bank account by Epstein on three separate occasions, soon after Epstein’s release from the prison sentence for offences against a 14 year old girl.

Yes I’m sure the women and girls were paid by Epstein, that doesn’t diminish his responsibility for trafficking exploiting and abusing them

From everything I have read many of the women were paid. Ghislaine Maxwell was certainly supported financially by Epstein. I doubt anyof them were on any formal payroll'

This ghastly person and his gang seem to be everywhere in the news.
It's utterly depressing.

The fact that those involved are ghastly and having it all in the news is depressing. I believe it should be in the news. The people involved are either big players on the international political game or are seen as people of standing and esteem.

I never had a very high opinion of those 2 people previously known as the Duke and Duchess of York, but the revelation of the full extent of the Duchesses expenditure and the lengths she would go to solicit cash to support a life style, she could not afford and the extent that both she and her husband have lied and lied and lied about their association with Epstein has come as a shock. The King's recent draconian reaction of stripping them both of any titles and sending him to live in Siberia Sandringham now makes sense.

We always knew that Peter Mandelson was a slithy tove, but Epsteins papers show just what a duplicitous slime ball he really is. Hopefully this will put paid to any more plum government (or private) appointments.

We need to know how one dishonest and disgusting person can
use money to buy and enslave so many people in public life and give himself a hold of them that can be damaging to indivdual countries, companies and individuals.

If it means that for a while that is all the media talk about. This case is a dreadful warning about how one, almost irrelevant person can hold power in one hand by his ability to buy people through money and potential blackmail.
