Good morning from Malta where we expect a fine day with a high of 18°C.

Had a good day with DGS2 yesterday although he was coughing a lot he was still in good spirits. However, by 3pm when DD3 came to collect him he was wheezing even after doing his inhaler, so off to the clinic they went so he could go on the nebuliser again. Poor little chap.

DGS1 stayed with me when they left for the clinic and was his usual sweet self. His daddy collected him at 5.30 pm,

I’m about to get up as I’m having DGS2 again today since he’s still not fit for school.

I’m tired after a rather broken night but I must get up. I don’t want to be in my pjs when my grandson arrives.

grandMattie your mention of fair isle yokes reminds me of my close friend’s grandmother, a lovely lady who hailed from the Shetland Isles. She used to knit the most beautiful fair isle sweaters for us all and it was fascinating to watch as she had several needles stuck into a belt round her waist which had a padded bit with holes in for the purpose, and her needles seemed to move at speed even though she wasn’t always looking at her knitting!

She used to knit yokes for Jenners who then had them made up into jumpers. I think they paid peanuts for them but they were so lovely. I still have a pair of gloves she knitted for me.

Thinking of you all and hoping the day holds some joy for each one of you.🤗

Blast, posted too soon.

This afternoon, at DD’s request, we are both going to a financial advisor, to deal with the (paltry sum of) money the bank refunded me. I have been very, very careful about spending as I know DD is very anxious about future nursing home fees. It would be nice, though, to have a little leeway.

30 minutes later, I have a meeting of the Later Life Hub, the combines age related charities in our area, trying not to step on each others’ toes, an£ helping out where and when we can, also making known what is available.

Well, carpe diem everyone. May th3 day b3 gentle. 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a damp Bristol.
Quiet day yesterday, but managed to sort out some businesses.
I also vacuumed carpets and washed floors as well as finished a pretty beanie for myself and did some sewing up of the quilt. Each strap is 9+ ft long, with two sides, naturally. And I’ve got five to do. A long job!
This morning is quiet. I’ll call my lovely haberdashery friends in Sandwich to supply me with the pattern and wool fora yoked Norwegian fair isle jumper I’d like to try knitting. I’m very happy cabling but haven’t really got on with fair isle, using circular needles means I don’t have to purl…
