Good morning from chilly South Lanarkshire.

MD, I’m so sorry to hear about your DiL’s complications. You know I’m here, having been through similar surgery I may be able to answer any questions.

I had a lovely catch up with a friend yesterday. She lives hundreds of miles away and stopped off on her way north to visit family. She moved away three years ago and I miss her.

School and nursery pick up this afternoon so we will head over to Edinburgh mid morning, giving us time to do a tidy up and prepare their evening meal.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from a damp W Kent. I am off to Thursday art group this morning and looking forward to seeing everyone.
Best wishes to all and thinking of Marydoll and family

Good morning Mick and everyone from dark but dry Carlisle. No snow here but there is on the tops. A full or nearly full moon keeps trying to poke through the clouds.

I went for my hair appointment early yesterday morning. The hairdresser, salon owner and I had a lot of talk about kitchen gadgets and food and made us all feel hungry. However, I went home to a light snack only but did skim the internet researching said (expensive) gadgets. Just no! There's only me and my needs are catered for. But you never know!

Today, the ironing and a bit of bathroom cleaning and then continue the sorting and trying on of clothes to see if they still fit. It was my swimsuits earlier on. Yes, they stretch and I look reasonably good if you don't take a sideways view!

Later, I hope to play catch up with my magazines.

My thoughts and best wishes to your DiL, Marydoll. I hope it is onwards and upwards for her now. What a tough time you are all having.

Good morning Mick and all

I will hold your DiL in my thoughts and prayers Marydoll

I have a hair appointment first thing in Gingster”s part of the world. Then a birthday lunch for a gym friend it’s an ‘0’ so should be lively.

Thinking of our morning friends who are not posting 🙋‍♀️

Good morning from a very wet and windy Essex coast.
I left DH at the hospital at 12.30 yesterday and picked him up at 5.30. He looked like a pirate with a patch over his eye.
Although they numbed him for the procedure he said it hurt, a lot. He was very subdued during the evening and went to bed very early.
I didn't sleep with him as I was frightened of knocking his eye. He is still asleep.
I need to go out and do some food shopping later, apart from that no plans today.
I'll go back and read what you have all been up to when I've made a cup of tea.
Have the best day you can, best wishes to all xx

Morning Mick, morning All. A(nother) wet day forecast for our corner of Somerset.

Yesterday was blessedly dry with some sunshine. Very mood lifting. A reasonably successful retail morning, a decent lunch and a quiet rest of the day should have led to a good night. Mr C slept like a log, I’ve been awake for most of it. No sense to my sleeping pattern.

Not sure what today will bring. A very odd message arrived from our goddaughter which I’ll ask Mr C to help me unpick. Must remember to collect a package and also phone our Welsh friend.

Be back later to check for news, been thinking about maryd’s daughter in law and other poorly folk. .

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex, where it’s raining again! Yesterday was a lovely bright day, lots of blue sky and sunshine.
A good chair yoga session yesterday morning, then I walked to the local post office so a good exercise for me. I’m supposed to be on dog and granddaughter duty today, but DD1 isn’t going in to the office now, so I’m not needed. I’ll go over this afternoon anyway and have dinner with them. As I still haven’t got my car, it’ll be a taxi there and hope my son in law will bring me home!

Hoping for better news from marydoll today, a worrying time for her family.

I hope that your DH can get his passport arranged today ash.

Thinking of all those who are struggling for any reason.
Have as good a day as you can everyone.

Good morning. Another dull wet day forecast here in N. Bucks.
Never mind I shall be inside most of the day. Art class this morning and sewing club this afternoon.
Wishing you all a good day with a smile along the way.

Good morning all from what sounds like a windy Glasgow.
A short post from me today.😱

Firstly, apolgies for not replying to the PMs, yesterday was full on and both tablets were flat. I have a faulty charger, which actaually seems to be draining my devices. Grrr!
However, thank you for all the good wishes for DIL
I am touched by your kindness.

DIL had major surgery yesterday, but it was delayed until lunchtime, due to her BP being too low and needing a transfusion.
She is a very lucky girl. Her bowel had split and leaked into her abdomen. Unfortunately, she now has a stoma, but a reversible one. Hopefully in six months time, the surgeon will consider a reversal.
DS1 popped in for a few moments last night with Dollie, the first thing she did was run and hug me. She knew her mum had another op, but not about the stoma.
She seemed more excited about the KPop magazine, I had bought her. 😉
DS told her, when they got home.
DIL was eventually was taken to HDU late last night, I'm waiting to hear how she is.

The PP messaged me from somewhere with very sunny skies (he sent a photo) to ask me to check something.
Consequently I messaged the young curate and told him where the ashes for Ash Wednesday were and could he see if I needed to order more.
I told him about DIL, whom he knows well (he had been in the USA and didn't know).
Although we often clash (he is very abrupt and a little arrogant), he phoned me to ask what was happening. Consequently he rushed straight to the hospital and gave DIL the Sacrament of the Sick, just before she went to theatre.
DIL, was so emotional and overwhelmed.😭

I managed to drive to the doctor's for the first time yesterday, which was a relief. I have been trapped at home for two weeks! Poor DH is exhausted, he has spent the last two weeks, looking after me.
I was totally exhausted by the time I got back.

Today we have Babydoll, she was sent home unwell from nursery yesterday and DS2 can't get time off. He is in the middle of a very major, difficult and problematic IT project and seems very stressed.
We had planned to go up to the hospital, after dropping Babydoll home, the hospital is on our route home. However, I have decided it would not be wise, given Babydoll is ill.

I must rush, DH is hassling me and I have pancakes to make, because a certain girl must have her routine! She is in for a shock. The kitchen has been changed round. She will not be pleased. 😁
It is going to be a very long day!

Best wishes to all, who are struggling. Have a pleasant day folks.

Best wishes to all.

P.S. When I previewed, my post said that my charger had drained my "vices". I am too tired to have any vices.😉

Good Morning from Durham. It feels very cold outside and of course, it’s going to rain.
Yesterday, my friend said his wife is very unwell and plans are being made for end of life care at home. It’s been a long time coming, but sadly, not unexpected.
Just a coffee this morning with a friend, so we can sort out World issues! We started work together nearly 55 years ago and been friends ever since.
A walk later with DD2’s Little Dog and I’ll start on the bag of laundry she gave me last night.
Hoping there’s better news from Marydoll today. Thinking of FGT and others battling what life is throwing at them.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from s somerset, yet another grim and wet day here

MD flowers I hope you all had some sleep last night

I think I will make some dahl, I could do with a return to simple foods after the Christmas break. All those warming spices are just right for the dismal weather today

I popped to the allotment yesterday and was home by 8, I bunged the 10 strawberry plants into the soil and noticed the winter green manure needs cutting. It is so difficult to know when I can take my car out as the big machines on the road start work around 8.30. I want to do that job but it will have to be done at the weekend. The lanes are properly wet and muddy here, no cycling yet

Have a good day

Good Morning from a dark and wet-again south coast. It stayed dry yesterday but a keen easterly breeze kept it feeling cold. The heating, meagre at best, in the church where we have choir rehearsals, switches off at 8pm so the last 90 minutes get colder and colder. I kept my coat on throughout the rehearsal last night.

DH had a lovely ride out with his cycle club on his new ebike and is very pleased with it. He said his chums all duly admired it and asked technical questions. Apparently that's a man thing which denotes admiration I am told!

Our youngest DGD is 21 today and in her final year at Durham University. She was a difficult, strong willed and defiant child but is now a beautiful, sweet girl, albeit still a determined character. I always knew that she would make a mark in life and she certainly is doing. Very proud of her.

Thinking of all our GNs with struggles and hoping for a easing of their burdens.

RosesandLilac Thu 05-Feb-26 06:41:27

Good morning, it’s raining up here on a hillside in south Glos 🙄
I walked tiddler along a less muddy route yesterday, she was still pretty muddy by the time we got back to the car but we stopped off for a coffee at the village cafe en route. I enjoyed scrambled eggs on toast and we shared a sausage, absolutely delicious.
I managed to get a blister because I stupidly didn’t wear my walking boots 🤷🏼‍♀️
After another very restless night, my legs and hips are so painful, I hope my magnesium tablets arrive today. I’m hoping that’s the reason why , I ran out three or four days ago, fingers crossed 🤞🏻
Today I will tackle the housework, dogs walk first, then I’ll crack on with knitting the half-finished pair of socks I picked up yesterday. I can’t remember how long ago I started them, two years possibly?
Thinking of those who are struggling or upset 🤗 x

Good morning from Bristol. It is not raining atm, but will, I suspect.
Yesterday’s estate “coffee morning” went ok. 16 of the 30 households were represented, including one poor chap, who moved in a fortnight ago. We had about 20 minutes of chitchat, with Mr.Teflon and the new temporary manager spending a short time. She left, he stayed for nearly a further 90 minutes, batting away queries about repairs, etc.
There was one really bizarre thing. New PVC double glazed windows were installed 19/20 years ago, but at least two of the flats still have (rotting) wooden single glazed windows! No one can figure out. And it is only two or three windows, not the whole lot per flat.
The lateness of ending the meeting, and the subsequent tidying up, etc., meant that I had barely time to have lunch before rushing off for the very last Townswomen’s guild meeting,
A final, free lunch is planned. I had originally refused to go as I’m generally very tired after the FABcafe, but one member sought me out to offer me a lift. I was so touched that I agreed to go. I dislike those big gatherings, meals in particular, but felt it would have been churlish to refuse.
T’ai chi this morning, the dinner with DD and family. I think I’ll stop off early together my glasses adjusted - a regular occurrence - before taking the bus for another two stops and the long uphill walk to her house.
Best wishes to the mountaineers, to anyone with difficulties. Find one joyous thing happening today to put sunshine ☀️ in your lives. Thought for fgt.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a calm Torbay following a night that was wet and windy at times.

We are awake early as DH has an appointment at the Passport Office in order to renew his passport. He didn’t want to risk sending his details by mail in case the new one didn’t arrive in time for his return trip later this month.

Hope those in pain of any kind have a better day. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
