We had a lucky experience too. When my grandson was a lot younger he collected ty teddies. We were holidaying in a flat in Bournemouth and he took one of these beloved teddies on the bus where we all sat in the back seat. When we returned to the flat for lunch the teddy was left on the bus and gone for ever we thought. However we went out again in the afternoon and by chance got on the same bus and there was the teddy still sitting on the back seat. We could not believe our luck.

That's wonderful there are a lot of honest people about. We unfortunately seem to hear more about dishonest ones. I bet you were relieved.

I went out at around 12 midday, caught the bus into town, taking a fabric bag I’d bought at the National Gallery with a stamped birthday card inside, for the post.
It’s a particularly nice bag, with Van Gogh’s ‘Starry Night’ all over it.

Anyway, got off the bus in town, no bag! Thought I must have left it at home.
Forgot all about it until 9 pm, no bag in the house.

On the off chance, walked back to the bus stop, in case I’d left it there - and nobody had nicked it.
Someone had kindly laid it carefully over the plastic bench.

There must have been masses of people at that bus stop during those 9 hours, so I do count myself lucky!
