Another photograph yesterday from Meghan to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
It is Harry with his daughter.
After seeing it and others published recently do you other Grans just wish you could get a decent brush and give her hair a really good brush?
Much is made of its glorious colour but oh dear it looks like rats tails to me.

Sweet little girl and a lovely picture.

I don’t think so at all, they know the public are interested in seeing their children and like to put out photos of themselves as a family, it’s making them accessible.
When the late Queen was young there were many photos taken of her and Princess Margaret in the media and the same for the Queen’s own children.
Meghan and Harry were furtive from the start, remember the long awaited moment when Meghan came tripping out holding baby Archie, all anyone could see was a tiny foot.

There’s nothing goady about the thread at all, and posters can comment on anyone in the public eye if they want to.
The name is foolish in the extreme just as a name but it was used without the Queens permission from a very foolish couple.
If William and Catherine can release full face photos of their children why can’t Meghan and Harry? All you get is the back of the head or a sideways shot, it’s very odd.

Actually I think the sainted Kate and Wills expose their children far too
much to the media. Still a useful distraction from that which they don’t want us to really concentrate on.

Yet another foolish decision they made that they're regretting now...
Everything they do is ill thought out!

"Rats tails " a terrible way to describe a child's hair. I had chestnut hair that was curly, I have seen photos of it. My Mother reffered to it as rats tails because he could not deal with it. It was beutiful, but she managed to ruin it by keep getting it cut.
My own view it is a goady thread, that has escalated to being judgemental about a child's name, as well as Meghan and Harry.

What I don’t get is why some people follow them on Insta if all they want to do is b*tch about them. Sad lives.

Do they? Follow them on Instagram?

Goodness.

Allira Sun 15-Feb-26 21:03:55

I merely made a comment that in several picture I have seen on the media, her hair looks untidy and in need of a good brush.

Well, as a person with 'difficult' hair myself, I do understand the reasons for a good cut and conditioner!

Usetobeblonde sorry your O/P, brought such responses

As the OP, my last word in the subject.
I did not criticise H& M.
I was not unkind to a little girls, I couldn’t care less what she is named.

Personal comment, personal observation which on reading the rules of GN I am permitted to make.
I have not made derogatory remarks about the parents or the York family which have been made many times on here.
Remembering the first photo I saw of Lilibet , taken on her 1st birthday, her hair didn’t appear to have the wiry, springy quality some posters have suggested.
Another point, one poster referred to her mixed race, is that allowed?

You set the hare running regardless of your intent.

TerriBull, your view reflects the British idea, Imariund gives us the U S idea.
All is well 🌞

Rather like Hallowe'en, we sent it across the Pond and it came back here again unrecognisable!!

MarieElla Sun 15-Feb-26 20:29:07

Iam64, not just the British idea.
Harry is such a weakling, he just goes along with what ever Meg tells him to.....

Valentine cards are obviously a commercial enterprise now, but a sent Valentine card was pivotal to the plot in Hardy's 19th century book 'Far from the Madding Crowd. With a "Marry Me" message inside. Nothing new here and certainly not intended for parents to send to a children.

It's sad that yet another ancient tradition has been commercialised by Hallmark Inc. USA, and has completely lost its meaning.

They have not released all the names. They told you they released all the names. hmm

I celebrated Valentine's Day with my kids their entire childhood. Here in the US, the schools have Valentine's Day parties where kids get to exchange little cards and candy. My own mother gave us Valentine's Day gifts my entire childhood, so not a new thing. My husband and I have never celebrated Valentine's Day in almost 30 years.

Nothing to do with romantic love in everyone's house. I believe I love my husband romantically every single day and do not believe in buying overpriced crap that will die.

It is a lovely photo of Lily and Harry which makes no difference in any of our lives.

I wonder how differently this thread had gone if it had been William and Charlotte in the OP.

It would seem very odd as well.

I find that really strange.

If it had been William and daughter ... it would still be weird for Valentines Day

Yes, absolutely.

No, I am pointing out the hypocrisy.

I don't actually think it is ok to tear down women OR children.

I don't understand. You post a link to an article that was tearing down Catherine, after I post that worse was done to Catherine when she doctored a photo, yet you criticised Meghan's detractors?

As said above Willian and Catherine would not post a photo of William and Charlotte to mark Valentines day...it's just off!
I don't think the photo is fake, just heavily doctored...
Meg never gives up but gets it wrong every time.

The OP was about her hair, not Valentines Day. The thread descended into a bunch of people being upset because, checks notes, people who live in the US are following US customs and posted a lovely photo with a father and daughter.

Oh dear, is that a USA custom? One they inherited and turned around to mean something else?
Forgive us Europeans if we find it a bit odd.

MartavTaurus Sun 15-Feb-26 20:01:01

I don't know much about what happens in the USA so can't really comment.
Ask me what happens in France, and I can tell you it is a day for lovers. They don't give cards to family and friends there, but usually have an intimate celebration like a champagne dinner for two with maybe a piece of jewellry involved!

Anyway, what I find weird about all the celebrities calling their various children their Valentines, with an s, is that they must feel the need to have at least two or three or maybe more Valentines, maybe because they're so hungry for adoration from multiple people? Meghan and the Kardashians fall into that category.

Why indeed.

Are you joining in the condemnation of a woman who was going through surgery and cancer treatment, and wanting to keep her medical history private? The photo was supposed to reassure the public that all was well.

MarieElla Sun 15-Feb-26 19:32:05

I'm not surprised it's different in the states, tbh, look at what they did to the pagan festival of Halloween!!!
